tldr: 3-3.5/5. A quick cut for a good price. Overall pretty good cut, but some room for improvement here and there. Over the pandemic I taught myself how to cut my own hair, but I'm not super great at cutting the top yet, so I usually go to a real shop to get the top cut when I need to. I've been pretty disappointed by other hair salons in the area who can't really cut a good fade and I'm not sure if I want to go back to expensive barbers. A haircut here at the time of writing this was $15 which was actually cheaper than a lot of shops nearby which charged around $18. There were a few people already there on a Sunday morning, but I was able to get in the chair pretty quickly. I believe Cherie was the one who cut my hair and I can tell she definitely was skilled with the clippers and scissors. It was a pretty quick cut, but the results looked pretty good at the end. Although it was a bit hard to see the back of my head as the mirror she used was a bit small. When I came home for further inspection I did notice some parts that could have been blended a little better, but overall not bad for the time it took. I'll probably try this place another time, maybe at a less busy time. read more

I think one thing to be cautious about is that they can over do a haircut and so, if you'd like to keep your length in all places or just some, be specific by saying "not too much". I think it's a good salon, simple, well-priced, quick, has a friendly environment and she has great technique and communication style. If you want one that's fancy, maybe a wash and dry, iron/blow out - they don't have that so skip. I have very think straight hair. I grew it out almost past my chest area and I was going to attend a wedding soon, I invested in long hair hot curlers. I wanted my layers to be enhanced by long cuts while keeping the length in a V or U shape. She repeated what I said and agreed. Since it's quick, you won't have time to contemplate whether thats too much hair. She did manage to keep the length of the pointed/middle portion of the "V" but all else was short, over thinned out. I wasn't upset that there wasn't any post cut styling but I knew the cut was making my hair look very different - Since my hair is thick, I look like I got a wolf cut, it was dry and frizzy. I went home and styled it, it looked good, like Monica from Friends as my bf would say but I was disappointed and sad on how short on the front it was. I'm not the one to be sad over a haircut but it was the first time I've been allowed to grow my hair. Overall, it was a good style but over done. read more

They usually do a great job but they messed up recently. I've been going in there every two weeks for the past several months. I go to the same person and get the same exact haircut and even show the same exact picture of how I want it cut. It's perfect almost every time. I went in there recently and again I show him the same picture and tell him where the part should be and he gives a completely different haircut from what I wanted. It was a nice haircut but it'll take months to grow out my hair to have that haircut again. They cut hair well be make sure you repeat yourself a few times to ensure they heard you correctly. read more

High level of unprofessional behavior by the staff. It was my first visit today, and it was a disaster. I took my daughter for a layer hair cut, and after the cut, we were so disappointed. After the haircut, the lady did not explain to me why the haircut was not the one that we asked her to do after showing a pic. Neither she wanted to do stylng nor she wanted blow out the cut hair fallen on my daughter's shirt. I also told her that i could pay extra to style as we wanted to head to an event, and we didn't head with a happy mind or face! She said we do not do styling. U have to go home and do it. RIDICULOUS!!! The lady was in such a hurry to bill and send us out quickly. Greedy for tips. Pls do not step here for lady's haircut. My first time out of the house on my own after a hip replacement I walked all the way to the door of the store and tripped these ladies were so wonderful to me I had to call the paramedics because my hip was new and I was not strong enough to get up by myself they were very patient with all the fuss and Cherie gave me a wonderful haircut I'm definitely going back when I need a cut or color. $10 for regular haircut and $13 for a layered haircut is sufficient for kids and teenagers. Shampoo'ing is not included. Instead, the hair gets wet thoroughly with a spray bottle. As I watched the stylist with the sheers cut layers on my niece's head, I noticed that it's a different technique than what I'm used to. Instead of pulling the strands taut up above the head and cutting that way, the layers were trimmed by pulling the hair down. I'm not sure if it makes a difference. An appointment was not necessary on a Saturday morning. Thirty minutes later, we were out the door. I don't know...that bare foot guy on the couch with feet propped up, watching the big screen TV, cannot be good for business. read more

However, Cherries did a perfect job cutting my hair. The layers were perfect. I naturally have flat hair and hate to look at it. After coming to the salon, I actually can see the volume in my hair. She advised me what to do to get more volume, helped me with my hair routine. Vincent, another hairdresser there, also did my temporary perm. I love how he told me what size of perm should I get to balance out my hair and face shape. Personally, I think getting a hair cut specially for women is a big decision. I dislike getting my hair cut. I REALLY dislike getting my hair cut with someone new. Having read all of the reviews, I landed on Vincent for my very messy hair. After 10 minutes of "chair stress" I realized that he knew his stuff and I stopped trying to direct the process. Vincent was perfect - figured out my hair texture, etc. and cut off enough to give my hair a good cut . . . that was styled well for my face shape. Cherie knows. She knows what I've wanted and have been telling other people for a long time. She's only cut my hair once but it was great. She even made suggestions about what type of styles would fit the shape of my face. She's really patient too. :) I have yet to try highlights w/ her. The last time I got killer highlights was this place in union city, and I told her how they did it and she said she'd be able to do the same (it was one of those head covers w/ holes in them where you take out pieces of hair and just highlight it all at once). They did a terrible job on bleaching my hair. They directly applied the bleach on my hair. I was told there will be color correction as my hair had highlights already but that didn't happen. I asked for whole hair light blonde and they gave me golden top with brown on the rest. My hair was heated unevenly as nobody checked while I was under the heat and they kept reapplying the bleach while I was under saying the lady who applied the bleach missed some areas. Absolutely terrible. I kept saying it is not what I wanted at all. Now I have to find another place to correct my hair and I never will go back to that salon. The worst part is that they ruined my favorite shirt that was $20; there is bleach stains at the neck area and it's absolutely horrid. Do not recommend at all for coloring or bleaching. read more

My parents have been going here for years and they love it. It's not a fancy salon by any means. In fact, it's very much your typical local Asian salon. Haircuts are around $10-15 kind of deal. Cherie has always been extremely helpful and friendly. They only take cash and even when I forget to bring cash, she tells me just to pay next time. The weekends are usually jam packed with appointments and walk-ins so I highly suggest making an appointment.
