So I had the same standards for this location, I guess my standards are too high. First off the store wasn't busy AT ALL (should've been 1st flag with it being a Saturday and all), we were never greeted. 2nd my daughter had to interrupt 2 associates making plans for after work that night to get a fitting room (how dare my child be so rude) and the associate was obviously angry for the interruption so they'd have to do their job. And lastly the 3rd was at checkout, the associate who was ringing our purchase was very visibly disgusted by the fact she was being forced to do her job spoke not a single word to us and shoved our entire purchase into 1 overflowing bag, how dare she even bother to thank us. So we get home and pull the waded mess out of the bag to seethe scrappy sandals that were purchased still had the security tag still on them and severely damaged by the display holder they use and when I found my receipt in the mess I wasn't given the sale on 2 pairs of shorts. So I did the return today at the same location. Again, I wasn't fretted by either associate holding up the registers and the associate doing my return transaction didn't even ask if I wanted an exchange. Instead she angrily demanded "You got a receipt for ' dis? You got I.D.? You need da card, you got 'dat?" So she snatched the demanded items off the counter and got whom I assume is a manager (he looked equally as miserable and aggervated as she did. He didn't even bother to say hi to me. So he did his thing on the register and walked away. She tossed my belongings onto the counter and stated "insert yo' card" completed my refund told me to sign the refund receipt and tossed my copy over to the side. She wasn't even trying to give it to me I picked it up and asked if it was my copy to which she actually did respond as she was already away from the cash wrap area "yea " never looking back at me. I'm a manager in retail and I always try to let companies know when I've had a positive experience, I know there's always something negative to say, however this to me was extremely unprofessional, and maybe they need to reevaluate their staff. If you hate your job that much maybe you should reevaluate your career path.

I am a little bit confused though why they have a pickup/return counter by the store entrance that is not staffed. I was walked over here for one return and for one of my pickups. When l returned a belt an employee left and came back with a different belt to show me. It was more than I wanted to spend but he showed the item number so I could look it up online for a sale price. As for the online site 2 items didn't look like I thought when I picked them up at the store. I loved the black sweater I got here! What really stands out, though, is the service. I don't have tons of extra money so I'm usually buying off the sale rack. Still, I am treated as though I were buying the most expensive thing in the shop. Just yesterday, I bought a pair of jeans with the expert advice of shop co-owner Tessa and had a great experience. She pulled extra pieces for me to try on and recommended the pair that fit best. With this selection and service, Idlewild is a great reason to shop small and local.

I've struck up converstations that go beyond fashion and have learned about the OTR and design from the women who work at Idelwild. My first time in, I learned about Brush Factory (now just on-line). And went on to buy some furniture there before they closed the brick and mortar. My second time in, I learned all about buying trips to Paris and New York, clothing lines and designers I hadn't known before. I can't say enough about how friendly and helpful they have been.
