We were headed to Savannah from Atlanta and decided to stop in Macon…read more Macon is an interesting town but luckily we found The Rookery. I ordered a Pork Chop Sandwich. The pork chop was boneless and breaded. It was so delicious and was served with homemade Potato Salad. So yummy. We got a Moon Pie Shake to go. Also delicious. The service was outstanding. The inside was interesting. I felt like we were eating at a Quentin Tarantino movie set. In order to get to the restaurant several homeless people were out in front. We were hassled going out and when leaving. This was unnerving and uncomfortable. All of it was so interesting. I would highly recommended reading it if f you find yourself in Macon.

Though we did miss the initial sign pointing in the direction of the bar and then the bar sign hanging from the side of the building itself. The entrance is located directly to the right of Tokyo Alley. Loved the outdoor space walking up to the entrance itself. This could be amazing for warmer temperature days. Parking was easy out front and we paid our $10 to get in. Kids 13+ had to pay as well. We were definitely on the early side as there were few people there (by the time we left a few hours later, it was packed!). We got a nice table with a dedicated fan that had a clear view of the stage. The space is really cool and there are also some stadium style seats with great views of the stage. The bar had everything you could want and including a good beer selection. They also allow you to bring your own food, which is a game changer. There is one food truck onsite that rotates (it was Mexican the night we were there) and a pizza place next door with great pizza. There are some TVs playing sports and a kid's area so bring the kids and dogs. Onvce the band started, it was loud, but we had a great time here catching up with friends.
