As I open the inner box I see four (4) huge cookies! they come wrapped in cellophane bags with a cute ribbon. There were no names of the flavored cookies, yet I took an educated guess. These cookies are the largest (In depth) cookies I have ever encountered. Thick and delicious with rich butter flavor is the best way for me to describe them. At the thickest section of the cookie - unfortunately was of a sandy milli consistency, yet the butter taste was throughout. Misericordia is all about offering care and programs/work programs for individuals with mild to profound developmental disabilities. All the baked items that you see in the Shoppe have been baked and packaged by the Misericordia community! I brought my parents here, and we had a wonderful time - we had a carrot cake (so moist and addicting!), a raspberry crumble (tart and oh-so-good!), a cup of house-blend coffee, and a cup of Earl Grey tea. There is a self-serve table that have nice plates, utensils, half-and-half, milk, and napkins. There are plenty of seats, and the place is bright, warm, cool, and inviting. All the bakery items at the Misericordia Sweet Shoppe are made by the residents and boy, do they seriously give Chicagoland bakeries a run for their money.
