My friend took my boyfriend and I here since we were on the way to Buccees but wanted to eat some dinner that wasn't BBQ-related (we had a lot during our weekend visit). We shared a 3 soup base and I'd say my favorite was the house special, but the golden chicken was good too. The mala was super spicy so it was a tad painful to eat but if you can handle spice well, you may enjoy this. You order on a tablet and they have a station with snacks, DIY sauce, and a freezer with ice cream for dessert. We ordered the combo but added various other items plus golden fried buns. We had a lot of food for 3 so we came away with leftovers. Our waitress checked in on us regularly and the ingredients came out quickly. There is a large but busy parking lot.

Probably the best hotpot in Dallas. Fresh food, great flavor, I've been here about 8 times. It's a great spot for groups too. The staff are really nice and the service is fast.

Great hot pot! We did the late night pricing after 8pm so it was quite affordable. Broths were great! I didnt personally have any issue with the food, but about 3 people in our group of 8 got food poisoning the next day unfortunately. Might be because of the late night visit--we had all come before during normal hours without issue! Would still recommend!

Hi, my name is Pauline and I'm a hot pot junkie. It's actually gotten to the point where the staff has started to recognize me and my husband. When they said "welcome back" to us I just knew I had a problem. Shoo Loong Kan is actually my favorite hot pot in the DFW metroplex. I don't like to mention other restaurants in my reviews but I love Haidilao but don't love their prices. Shoo Loong Kan is very similar to Haidilao but cheaper! I love their spicy mala beef tallow broth. It packs so much flavor and burns so good. My husband loves their tomato broth. They have a great selection of good quality menu items and a stacked sauce bar.

Awesome food, awesome hostess who help us with the menu. After 8:30pm, they offer 20% off. Dessert is HAAG Daaz. Broth has many choices, you can do either Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese Pho, Japanese broth and choose your ingredients, protein and veggies. Place can be very busy. Will definitely come back.

Spam fried rice, egg noodles, beef tallow broth, yellow chicken broth, prime rib, and enoki mushrooms.

This is my favorite restaurant in DFW. It's the type of food that is worth the 45 minute drive. They have several types of broths and sauces to choose from, my favorite being the beef tallow. Their meats and vegetables are amazing quality. The most recent we tried was the prime rib and the wagyu beef tongue, which were both honestly the richest, most flavorful meats i've ever had. My top 3s on the sides are egg noodles, spam fried rice, and enoki mushrooms. Additionally, the service is top tier. The servers/hosts are extremely attentive and helpful - even giving out good quality hair ties when you sit down. This restaurant offers a nice vibe, amazing food, and 10/10 service. It's a must try.

Broth, service, quality of ingredients, vibe, interior... Shoo Loong Kan is probably #1 in vibes and ambience and also up there in terms of service and quality of ingredients. My friend and I love hot pot, so we came this past weekend, and I think this location is even better than the one in Chicago. It's so clean, and our waitress was so attentive despite how busy she was. She came to fill up our water multiple times and even gave me a hairtie and an apron. She also gave us a rundown of the menu and handed us some really cute freebies at the end! It happened to be the 15th day after CNY, and everyone got little bowls of tangyuan, which is such a thoughtful touch. Broth is pretty good, but it's not my favorite in the city. However, that doesn't really matter because their sauce bar is stacked and you can make a top notch sauce with their ingredients. Everything is really high quality. The meat comes out beautifully. The interior of the restaurant is gorgeous, and it actually makes you feel as if you're sitting in a restaurant in China. 10/10 would come again. This has become one of my favorite hot pot spots in the city!

I see the hype now. I don't really like hot pots that charge per item because with so many all you can eat with excellent quality, it's hard to compete. However, this place has quality proteins and choices. The soup options are excellent! I came with a girl friend of mine and we enjoyed everything. Here's what we got: 3 flavour pot : the choices we got were the golden chicken broth, mushroom, and the medium spicy hot house mala beef broth. The mala beef broth was still extremely spicy even in medium so if you cannot handle spicy, just don't order this. If you can handle spicy, I'd still suggest getting the slightly spicy. This coming from a girl who LOVES spicy food and grew up in Malaysia. From all the choices, the golden chicken broth is the best. I love the flavor. All the meats are good. I recommend the lamb and ribeye. They are well marbled! The veggie selections were just okay but I do wish they would sell enoki mushrooms. I skipped seafood for now but they do have a lot of selections and look pretty fresh. I cannot comment now but I may update if I do try it. Now, they do charge you for sauces which is like $3. This is common in Asia but not really in the US so I was pretty... shock but not too bothered since the practice of charging you for every little thing is something I know too well. All in all, it's a great place for delicious hot pot.

Finally trying the richardson location and their new specials. We got the spicy soup, chicken, and guizhou soup which were all so tasty and flavoral. The a5 wagyu was my favorite meat! It literally melts in your mouth. The workers were nice. They have a sauce bar that comes with icecream at the end. We came around 6:30 on a thursday and there wasnt much of a wait but be sure to make a reservation still just in caseB

Amazing Hot Pot Experience! I had such a great time at Shoo Loong Kan! The soup bases were incredibly flavorful -- the spicy broth had the perfect kick, while the creamy bone broth was rich and comforting. Every ingredient was fresh, from the beef slices to the handmade noodles. I especially loved how the servers helped with cooking tips and kept everything clean and organized. The dipping sauces were also fantastic and customizable, which made every bite taste different. It's the perfect place to go with friends -- cozy atmosphere, fun experience, and absolutely delicious food. Highly recommend if you love authentic Sichuan hot pot!

We went on a Tuesday for their 20% off deal and the restaurant was about 1/2 full for dinner. Ordered 3 different broths to try since it was the same price regardless of how many you pick. The pork broth and tom yum were my absolute favorite broths, better than most other hot pot places. But their spicy beef broth wasn't my favorite. We ordered ingredients via an iPad and the food came out quickly within 10 mins. They provided excellent service the whole time. And I love that they give you Haagen Dazs ice cream at the end. Highly recommend!

Our waitress was very attentive from the beginning and offered enthusiastic recommendations. Our pork bone broth was delicious and we tried many kinds of meat and add ins, and they were great with sane portions. Didn't really feel like we missed out on anything by not buying the extra charge items and we both filled up quickly. There's little desserts at the sauce bar, and also a few things off the menu. We tried them all and found them neutral overall in flavor; nothing impressive, but still pleasant. The difficult thing about this place is the price. A few $ more than Seapot, but you also have to pay for broth, which can add up to $14 more PER broth, which is why bf and I only got one. So while I'd say this place was very good, Seapot is better value and would be my choice over this place. However, bf and I agreed that this place is definitely a better choice over Hai Di Lao.

My husband got the duck noodles and it wasn't that great. The duck tasted old and there was not much bamboo flavor at all. The clams were my favorite. They cooked it to protection. Usually these kind of places get packed more towards the later hours in the night, so when we went at 6:30pm, we were the only customers. The menu is extensive and has all of the seafood we'd crave in an Oc & Lau restaurant. Since we were going to another restaurant for our actual meal, we only tried the coconut snails and I gotta say, they were AWESOME! The seasoning of the coconut snails had a great balance between sweet, savory, spicy and umami. If this is any indication of the other dishes they serve, I'm sure everything else will be awesome too. We will definitely be back and will update the review with further findings.
