Went here for our weekly date night and had a good time. A la carte hotpot like Haidilao at an average price. We liked the meats and other items we ordered, but we found the soup base lacking. We ordered the pork bone soup base and it tasted quite bland, smelling more like pork than it tasted like pork. The robot delivery system was slightly flawed, the robot would stop a short distance from your table and either a wandering waiter would place the food on your table or you would have to get out of your seat and retrieve it from the robot. If the robot could get a little closer to the table, I am sure the guests would be able to retrieve food while seated. Overall, we had a good time, but would rather go to nearby Seapot or Haidilao. read more

Bf and I stopped by for date night! We are regular hot pot enthusiasts and have our favorites in the area, namely Nan's next door neighbor Seapot. We heard this place just opened and wanted to compare! The Good: - You get a good amount for your $. I got a lot more pork than I was expecting compared to other places - I enjoy ordering off of the iPad - There was a nice large waiting area if you had to wait - We didn't try them, but they had a very large drink variety (fruit teas, yogurt drinks, sodas, alcohol etc) and some cute looking bingsu The Eh (because nothing was truly bad): - The robot that brought our orders would stop just far enough away that someone needed to stand up to get them - The tables were uncomfortable, as someone tall with thicker thighs. It was a tight squeeze for my legs and no back support. I'm 5'10" and about 175 lb - Our soup base was odd. I don't like spice which is why we always get pork bone, but this didn't taste like the others. In fact it was nearly flavorless? - I usually make a ponzu based sauce but made it with vinegar because there was no ponzu. I don't know what type of vinegar this was but it tasted off and I didn't enjoy it as much as usual - On that note, the sauce bar costs $3 apiece. Similar to Hai Di Lao, but not included like in AYCE places. Hai Di Lao also has a sauce bar with more variety -- this felt more limited with a lot of duplicates - slight irk but the robot went around loudly blasting APT by Rose ( a song I do like ) at max volume and in 2-3 pieces lol - I had trouble getting a waitress's attention to pay the check. I even pressed the call button on the iPad twice but eventually had to flag someone down after about 10 minutes My overall experience: it was alright. Not one of my area favorites and far from cheapest, but I wouldn't say it was bad and I wouldn't protest at returning. I think they may struggle to compete with Seapot next door which is phenomenal. NOTE ALSO: the parking lot is way smaller than seapot's. We arrived just before 6 pm on a Friday night. I'd say about half an hour later it got really busy and would've been hard to find proper parking. read more

We came on a Sunday around 3:30pm and it wasn't too busy. The place was huge with plenty of seating. We were seated right away. They use a QR code menu but also give you a tablet for ordering, and you can choose between a la carte ("smart ordering") or AYCE -- we went a la carte. The decor was nice - we came in October, so they had full-on Halloween spiders and webs everywhere. Each table has a built-in stove and a side area/cart for raw dishes. It can still get a bit crowded if you order a bunch in one go. We got the two-flavor pot (spicy + sour) and a bunch of dishes. The notable mentions were the tender pork and pork liver. They also had a pretty comprehensive sauce, snacks, and fruit bar. A la carte is good if you want specifics and can't eat much. I might consider coming back for AYCE with a bigger party next time. read more

One of my favorite places for hot pot! I've sat in the main dining and also in the semi private rooms for a bigger group and I definitely enjoyed the room more! Service is awesome, I forgot our server's name but he was attentive and helpful! They provide cute baskets to store your belongings and an apron to protect your clothes from food stains, etc. Meat and veggie selection is plenty and the meat is good. We do the all you can eat option since it's a better deal for us. I took off one star because of the music in the bathroom. It's insanely loud and both my kids were scared. Delicious! I came here on Mother's Day so it was super busy. We were able to sit quickly though before there was a line. There were 3 of us and we ordered the bone broth and tom yum. Both of the broth are tasty! Tom yum has a kick of spice but not overly spicy. The meat is good quality but the last one took forever to come out. The food presentation is top notch as well. They did charge us for 3 sauces even though only 2 of us got sauces but they corrected it quickly. The main downside is their table/chairs. I'm 5'3" and skinny. If I cross my legs then it doesn't fit under the table, lol. The only way to sit is to put both feet on the floor. My husband is 5'10" and his legs will go under the table but barely. Anyone taller than him might not love the table/chair height allowance. The food was so good that I'm willing to come back though. It's also a la carte only. read more

We came on a Saturday at 5:30pm and there wasn't a wait, but I noticed a lot of people started coming in around 7:00pm. We got the pork bone broth and the house special broth Mild but it was very spicy still. The buffet was 32.99/person and you pay additional for the broth. They have a side dish area and a sauce bar. You order on an iPad. The service here was really good, definitely one of the best hot pot places I've been to in the dfw. read more

Had a great visit at Nan Hot Pot. The service was great and you order everything from an IPad. They also have a little basket at each table to put your bags/jacket if you don't want it to smell. They also provide aprons for you too. Its Al la carte menu and sauce bar is an additional $3. I personally thought all the soup broths (tom yum, spicy, and tomato) were really good and flavorful. Our favorite topping was the dragon fruit shrimp paste!! It has a unique purple hue. Meat cuts were fresh and veggies too. Another great al la carte hot pot spot! Would def recommend trying. Came here with my wife for lunch. For loyalty members (free to sign up) it's 20% off on Tuesdays and Wednesdays which is awesome! We were seated immediately. Keep in mind though the advertised AYCE price does not include the price of the soups. Overall I enjoyed my experience! The meats were definitely fresh and they had great options for sides. Their portions for each AYCE are big so we didn't end up doing a lot of re-orders, but I loved how easy it is to order on their tablets. I did find the seating to be incredibly uncomfortable. I get they are trying to go for a more "traditional" style of seating, but no cushioning and no backs on the seat for the 2 hour AYCE time was uncomfortable. I also felt that their sauce bar isn't extensive enough compared to other hot pot options in the area. Overall a solid hot pot experience especially for the price on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Food quality is decent, but man are the chairs/benches uncomfortable. I get that they're going for the old school Asian aesthetic, but there's a reason people invented seat backs and cushions. I don't want that to cloud my judgment on the food but if I'm hunched over on a hard chair it's pretty difficult to enjoy the meal. If for some reason you like eating while in physical discomfort then the food here is actually pretty good. Meat quality is 4/5 and I appreciate that they have unique items like fish paste. Take this with a grain of salt because when any AYCE opens the quality is usually good at the beginning. The dessert at the self serve bar is a nice touch too. Basically a build your own mix of jellies and lightly sweet syrups, which highlights the more traditional taste palette that Nan has overall if that's your thing. I enjoyed eating here although it wasn't life changing. If the chairs were more comfortable I'd give 4/5 easily. I give an extra .5 for the cute panda decor though so take this as a 3.5/5 read more

Been wanting to try this place for a while now and finally had the chance to go! Idk if it's worth going back though. The quality and the options of meat and veggies here are okay. There's a lot of competition around the area so okay might not cut it around this part of town. Our group tried four different broths: tomato, mushroom, pork and Tom yum. The tom yum flavor was the best. The other flavors were lacking a lot, especially the tomato. I've had much better tomato broths. The service was fast when it came to food and broth coming out. What I wish they did was tell us what they were dropping off.. they just swung by our table with the meat and they didn't tell us what meat it is.. I like places that take the time out to tell us "here's your order of lamb and ribeye" but that's just me LOL. The sauce bar had a lot of variety which I really liked! I also really liked the appetizers and dessert options. The place is big and pretty clean for the most part though! My friend and I were craving hot pot on a cold Sunday and stumbled across this newly opened restaurant. We got there a bit early as they open at 3pm but they were incredibly welcoming and let us sit in the lobby area until open. The restaurant is brightly lit with cute traditional tables. The sauce bar was huge with some cold dishes (ready to eat) as well. The pickled radish was really good, a sweet and crunchy pickle to cut through the hot pot. They also had braised peanuts and chicken feet. We ordered the pork bone soup since our spice tolerance isn't very high. My favorite protein was the original cut beef chuck - very tender and of great quality. Just don't cook for too long. Our waiter, Jay, was friendly and accommodating, excellent service all around from everyone. I ended up coming back with my family for them to try and they loved it. The manager (I think, sorry I didn't catch his name) helped us out with the bench situation and swapped a more stable seat for my grandma. We very much appreciated his hospitality and thoughtfulness. Great price for what you're getting! It's not as fancy as some other hot pot places, but that's what we like about it. Rarely is there a wait and the staff is very attentive. Be warned their spicy soup bases are VERY spicy even for people that like spicy food. You can scoop out some of the peppers and then add them in to taste later. read more

Yes, they do offer all-you-can-eat. The AYCE menu has raw meat and uncooked seafood on it. However, if you want the broth to cook it in (you know, "hot pot"), they charge extra for that. Do NOT recommend. The service was slow. Ordering was confusing and required my phone... and it gets more confusing with more people in the party. The ordering system was glitchy, which may have been my phone, but why do I need to bring the necessary equipment for ordering? How bout yall provide the equipment to order with? They dont have something as simple as brewed iced tea. Water is served in tiny shot glasses. What's worse... is we brought a friend that has never eaten hotpot before. He didnt enjoy it all that much, was also put off by having to pay extra for the ability to cook his raw food, and asked us to stop at Whataburger on the way home. Oh, and the chairs are benches, with no backs. If you're looking to sit comfortably while you eat, this isn't the place. I assume they keep you uncomfortable on purpose, to get you to leave quicker. Why, I don't know... we were there at 6pm, and they were pretty dead, maybe half full? The manger bad-mouthed the competition because we brought up Seapot, which is very close and WAY better. Seapot's food is just as good, if not better... they have Korean Bbq at the table as well, and they DONT charge extra for the ability to cook the raw food they're bringing to you. The ONLY thing this place has going for it over Seapot is that they have no wait. Naan is a lower quality, more expensive alternative for when Seapot has a line out the door and an hour wait (which is often)... but you really want hotpot, but also want to pay more money. read more

I came to the newest hotpot place in Plano just for their dessert. They are a Chinese hotpot chain and they are a la carte. They have a bar and a waiting room whenever you're on the waitlist. Every table is lined with benches, and a basket to place your belongings in. You are provided an iPad to order your broth, meats, and other add ins. You can pay $3 for access to their sauce bar, which includes sauces, a bunch of appetizers, as well as a jelly dessert station. We ordered their mango shaved ice. The shaved ice has mango bits infused in it, and comes with mango jelly balls, pudding balls, blocks of mango ice cream that has mango bits in it, some type of firmer mango sago balls, as well as a marshmallow. This dessert was soo refreshing and good, I liked it a lot more than Hui lau Shan. There are soo many textures in this dessert and the there is a very distinct mango flavor while not being overly sweet. Definitely a unique dessert experience and probably the best mango shaved ice I've ever had. They also have a bunch of other desserts such as matcha and watermelon shaved ice. Have been here twice now and they have impressed me during both occasions! Did you know that if you come on a Wednesday, members get 20% off on their whole purchase? Cause I did not...and it was honestly a great surprise!! I will say my favorite thing here has to be the fruit teas! The first time I went I had mango great tea which was so delicious. I did venture out and tried their fruit tea this time (tasted like an Asian version of fruit punch, very heavy on the lychee flavor which I personally liked) and this was also very good. We went to Nan Hot Pot for our anniversary dinner. Never had hot pot before, and it was delicious. I was a bit taken aback at having to pay extra for the hot pot after paying the AYCE price of $32.99; but since this was our first time, thought that was normal. I have since found out, it's not. The server explained how to order, but we had to ask about the sauce stations up front and that wasn't explained very well, but we kinda figured it out. The broths had AMAZING flavor, we ordered three different ones; Traditional Chile (mild), pork bone and Tom Yum. Tom Yum was our favorite. The Traditional Chile, even though we ordered mild, was super hot! The waiter warned us, but we thought we could handle it, WRONG! Joke was on us. It did have great flavor and we did eat the food that we dropped into it, but we won't order that flavor again. Overall the experience was good, and we will try it again. It's expensive and not something we will frequent, maybe a couple of times a year. Will try other hot pot places before heading back here, simply to compare the experience and the quality of the food. read more

Go to Liuyishou instead - better service for the same price, and they have some complimentary desserts. If you want to beg for your dishes to come by 3-4 times and never have it come, this is the place for you. To add insult to injury, there was very evident preferential treatment - we saw our same waiter check on other tables multiple times and stand around cracking jokes with other customers throughout the night, whereas we weren't able to even get one of our broths refilled for the entire 2 hours. A lot of the sauce bar was also out, including the sesame paste and minced garlic. Ingredients were also worse quality than other similarly priced hot pot places. They also refilled my tomato broth with a pork bone based broth. Will not be returning. read more
