They seat quickly, but it takes a while to place your drink and food order. The chef was probably the best part, he was nice and seemed to enjoy his job. The pricing is about normal for a hibachi meal and there is a substantial amount of food provided. No one at our cook top was able to complete their meal. Our plates, silverware and cups were clean, but building itself was disgusting. The hoods don't look like they get cleaned, but maybe once a week or more (grease fire potential?). Don't look at the ceilings or floors. It will gross you out. The vents for the A/C are nearly black with dusty grease build up. I would eat here again if they would do a thorough deep cleaning, but I know they won't. So I won't be back. read more

Everything tasted the same... It was all covered in some sort of sugary sauce. I suppose sugar is a flavor, but there are a lot more flavors out there that don't cause diabetes. Probably won't go back. read more

Their sushi gets a 1 or a 2. They put ranch dressing on a spicy tuna roll. The hibachi grill is pretty good albeit a little expensive.

Really strange that this place advertises as a Japanese Steakhouse but half the menu is other asian cuisine. The gyoza were good but the sushi was really bland. You'd be better off driving to Amarillo, or if you're military, they have better sushi premade at the commissary on Cannon read more

We headed in with low expectations, and we were delightfully impressed by how much this place made us feel like we were back in Japan, if only for a moment. Ate here while in town for Thanksgiving... was surprised at how good it was! We shared the 3 sampler appetizers - all very good!! We also had the chicken / steak / and shrimp between the 3 of us that were there... everything EVERYTHING was so good. A few months ago we order some food and if anyone knows shoguns knows one plate will feed two people. We ordered food and spent a good 60+ on 3 sushi rolls and one plate, the plate left our 7 and 1 year old still hungry, when my husband called to complain that we barely had any meat on the plate "spencer pretty much said you get what you get!" So needless to say nothing was done and we had to make our kids more food. We have not ate there since. We did a review on their page about the experience. Last week we decided to try it again as its been awhile and maybe they wouldn't be skimpy with the portions. My husband went in to pick up our order and "spencer told the girl upfront, we will no longer serve them due to their bad review!" But spencer made sure to make someone else say it instead of himself coming out, so here is a little advice spencer as i owned my own business and that is not customer service! Instead of being a jerk and hiding in the back from your customers, the right thing could have been comping the meal or discounting it for the last horrible experience and asking for an updated review. But we are gladly ok with never eating your overpriced food again! Asian blazin is way better anyways! Gives awesome portions and is decent prices. Mediocre food at the hibachi grill not to mention the industrial lighting they have there that makes you feel a little uneasy. The rice had a sweet flavor to it, not something I'm used to at a hibachi grill. The shrimp was good but the chicken and steak was a bit chewy, so it wasn't that great. Horrid, there was nothing worthy of value to this place. I have had better food at a Panda Express. The only time in life where I have had "salt and pepper" calamari and had to add my own salt and pepper. Definately from the freezer aisle at your local store. Even the meal of Shrimp in Lobster sauce and Schezwan Pork was horrid. The fried rice was bland and had an odd flavor I am hoping to never eat here again. Find another place to feed your asian desire. I am certainly glad I did not do the whole kabuki experience what a waste of money. read more

Normally this is a place I like to go to a lot because the food is really good but this last time I went was very horrible I gave them a coupon for a $35 meal the waitress mistook my coupon and as another deal and give us that special and when I told her it was incorrect She double checked the coupon and realized it was the wrong one and because we didn't have the correct coupon we had to pay full price for this meal that we did and want in the first place. I spoke my concern in front of a manager and the manager Agreed with the waitress even though it was the waitresses mistake. I will no longer be eating at shoguns after this evenings meal. We ordered a volcano roll consisting of crawfish and other ingredients. It was the most disgusting sushi roll I've ever eaten. The rotten fish taste was unbearable. The wife and I both only had one piece and spit it out. We told the waitress it tasted horrible so she took it away. I assumed that they would be removing it from the bill. Wrong. She said she couldn't remove it due to us "eating half of it". So we asked for the manager and she literally said the same thing that we ate half and the crawfish is fine because "we've been serving it all night". She was incredibly rude and I don't think I've ever had worse customer service. Overall the entire meal was subpar. I honestly could've bought better food from the frozen isle at Walmart for a third of the price. I recommend you write them off as well. Honestly, it's what you'll get for Clovis. Moving here after being stationed in Japan my standards are low. But ordering a dragon roll and getting a sushi roll with coleslaw and ketchup on top was just the turning point....maybe the hibachi grill is fun but I had a bug in my water... so I did leave and paid my amount . I came here on recommendations of some friends who said this is the best place for sushi. I ordered a dragon roll and tuna roll. It was terrible, and this only after being seated for 15min before anyone even looked my way. Normally that wouldn't bother if I wasn't sitting there watching 3 teenagers talking and laughing it up, one of which who turned out to be my server. I ordered Salt and Pepper calamari and the two rolls. The Calamari was rubbery and with no salt and pepper. I had to add spice to it because it was so bland. No sauce with it or anything. After three or four of the calamari, I gave up and put that aside. Got my rolls, which were the worst cuts of fish on this earth. I'm surprised I didn't get sick. The Spicy Mayo was missing something. Yes I know it is only Mayo, Sriracha sauce and lemon juice but it was missing something. I did get my check right away which was good because I got tired of watching some kid scrape stuff of the floor, it looked like they were remodeling something, but honestly, while the customers were there? I didn't eat anything else. All that for a mere $32. Who messes up a Tuna roll? Anyway, hopefully your experience is better than mine. read more

I wish I could give them no stars!!!! We ordered out tonight (family deal) and everything but the sweet and sour chicken was okay. The sweet and sour chicken was obviously premade. It was cold and hard and looked as if it sat out for days. We called to tell them about this hoping to let them know how gross it was and to have it replaced. Can't compare the food to where we come from (Hawaii) but had dinner here at the insistence of my son-in-law. He warned us about the service and he was spot on. Just when you thought it would get worse, it did. The floor manager had to remind the waitress to come over and take our order. The same floor manager had to tell the waitress to take another order of sushi. Coolie hats on display definitely were not Japanese decor and some of items on the menu were of Chinese origin instead. I went to Shogun on 02 November with party of 9. I went ahead and paid the Bill for the whole party but when I requested a military discount the Cashier told me they don't give then a few seconds retracted and asked for my ID, I had forgotten my ID because I left it in my car and went in another vehicle. I explained my situation and instead of taking my word and telling me she will discount this one time she fatly said she couldn't. I told her I didn't want to ask to borrow someone's car to get my ID as I didn't want them to fight over paying the Tab. This place also added 32.00 for a Tip which I would of gladly given on my own but the Idea of adding a tip automatically is unacceptable. The place is very expensive with (trust me) substandard food !! I have been in Japan for over 25 years and this in no way tastes like Japanese foods or prepared. I will not be going back. It was only the birthday recipient husband made the reservations. I give this place a 2 star as far as Customer Service ! I have been to a Shoguns before but this one was different. It was incredibly tiny. We made the mistake of picking the grill to sit at so we were ushered into a tiny 7x7 foot room. Luckily no one was available to join us at our table so we ordered our food and sat in the middle seats. The miso soup was EXTREMELY gross and watered down with one raw mushroom. I don't think they were even cooked together. The crab puffs were good but 4 for 7$ is not a good deal. The waitress forgot my wine and they were out of the drink I really wanted. The cook was the only good part of the restaurant and the only reason I even gave 2 stars. The boss was busy snapping at all of his employees for the entire meal and it made it kind of awkward. They do put a pound of sugar onto everything which kind of ruins the food... But i still ended up paying 90$ for two people. If you go here don't set your expectations too high. read more
