I love the food and the vibe! I really love the way they cook the food in front of you!!!

I normally love Shogun's, but what I experienced tonigh, I've never! Our hostess was very short with us. We had a group of 12. And 3 of us ordered a shared order, and extra rice. One of our participants Inquired about the quantity of the food and we were assured that all was well . Two out of that group received a mini portion and one received no meat at all only rice and veggie. so we asked the chef to speak with the manage, as we congregated no one showed up, so then the waitress came with tickets and we informed her we requested a manage. 10 minutes later he came and as we thought we expl it to him thoroughly we would be compensated for the meat we didn't receiv, we were only brought out a Togo plate each...It was a horrible experienc. read more

We decided to try this location and wish we hadn't. It was such a long process to get a table, close to an hour and after that we still had to wait for the chef another 30 plus minutes due to them being short staffed. Then another 20 minutes to get the bill! The chef was great and the food was delicious but the waiting for everything took away from the experience. Also the added 18% tip on the final receipt and since we didn't realize that which was our mistake, we gave them another 20% tip and they didn't correct us. So we paid $74 (double)on tips for such slow service. They could also use a deep cleaning service in that place. Wasn't impressed. read more

My husband and I went out tonight 11/8/24 for a nice meal. We have eaten here many times before and always enjoyed it. However, tonight the food was just plain bad. For clarity, My husband had a filet mignon and I had shrimp teriyaki. We both had a house salad, soup, fried rice with vegetables. Everything tasted off. The rice was ok, but the chef dropped many egg shells on the scrambled eggs. The salad dressing tasted funny, the meat, both steak and shrimp was tasteless. Here's the kicker, BOTH of us had upset stomach and had to hit the bathroom less than 30 minutes later. If I was betting, I would blame it on the salad dressing. We won't be back, cross another Shreveport restaurant off. I hope no one else got sick like we did. read more

The presentation of the cook was great. He interacted with the kids in a great way. I order chicken teriyaki. The rice was good. The chicken was ok. 5 minutes or so after the cook finished the waitress came asking who wanted to go boxes. We ordered drinks and I was actually eating my food. Others at the table boxed up their food and left. So at the table was just myself and my cousin. I felt rushed. I wanted to sit. They should have moved us to a table. We finished around 7 30pm ish. This was my first visit. I don't know if we are there for the experience and then you take your food to go pretty much. The pieces were very reasonable. The food portion was huge. read more

What a great chef! We had a great meal, the rice, chicken, steak, sushi veggies.. All were great! I love that they started adding garlic to thier rice and steak! So much better flavors than we have had in the past. They do always for get that the sushi combo comes with soup and salad. They fed us pretty well and we're looking forward to our leftovers. As far as hibachi chefs go, our guy seemed fairly skilled and sociable so I'd say we made out pretty well. read more

Got take out from here during the entire (Covid) thing and the service was rough. Understand staffing is rough but we waited almost 39 minutes past quoted wait time. Getting past that the food was wonderful and everything you would expect from hibachi take out. Had the grilled steak with veggies that was well prepared at the right temp. Only thing that could have been improved was the soup was overly salty that day. read more

We got Shogun for lunch last week and it was delicious. I didn't even get any pictures because it was devoured. We ordered a pretty large order for our office and we have some picky people. Everything was made perfectly as requested. I got the filet teppanyaki and it was the juiciest steak I've ever had. My fried rice was cooked perfectly without onions and my veggies were just how I like them. I also got an avocado roll and one other roll, can't remember the name, but they were fresh and well put together. Everything was excellent. I'd recommend trying them. Maybe next time I'll be able to slow down and get some pictures! read more

It's refreshing to know that Shreveport has a nice selection of ethnic restaurants. Wife and I tried out this place last night. She had the teppenyaki steak; yours truly had the filet mignon hibachi. Service was good; prices were steeper than other hibachi steakhouses I've frequented in the past, but I was really craving filet. Aside from the hibachi vegetables not being the firmest, we had no real gripes with either meal. I'll recommend. read more

No dress code, extremely slow bar service While we waited. Refused to let us sit down with 8 out of 9 people. Explained that we would be ordering several hundred dollars worth of drinks while we waited - but they refused to seat us. Claimed they were keep the table empty until we had full party. So you would rather make no money on table , as opposed to hundreds of dollars on alcohol alone with a near full table? extremely disappointed in the customer service and common sense. read more

I was traveling through Shreveport and stayed at the Wyngate Garden Hotel. Shogun is just across the parking lot. The steak and fried rice was prepared to perfection! The clear soup was the best I have had since I left Japan in 1978! The ginger sauce just brought all the flavors together! The lone waiter provided prompt attention to my needs and requests. I just wish I lived closer than 387 miles! read more

I felt compelled to review because when we checked before coming, there were no recenT entries. Our god was DELICIOUS, and our server was very attentive. All waitstaff were kind from the moment t we wwalked in the door. We weren't celebrating, but a table nearby was, and they were so kind and made a great show for the kiddo! Food was really good. Problem was the children at our table. No fault of the restaurant but we were accompanying 2 elder handicapped women who were made very nervous by the badly behaved children. I've been seated with children before but not like this group of food throwing and spilling brats. I'll defiantly go back but try requesting a table with no small kids. Firstly, the google maps shown on the page is wrong, it's not really that close to Youree. Secondly, the whole place smells like bad oil. Third, if you do call for a reservation, you will still have to wait. While you wait you will witness the waitstaff cracking jokes about customers and generally not doing anything, but especially not serving you. Be prepared to share a grill table with someone else's sniveling brat. We walked out and went to real restaurant. read more

So I read the negative reviews on here about the horrible service and thought that I would give it a shot anyway-because I love sushi. Some friends and I get there around 7 and there are about 20 people in the lobby just kind of milling about. I asked the greeter about the other people and she walked away from the desk and kind of mumbled something about the tables being cleaned. So then I go up to the bar where this 30 something year old white guy (don't worry I'm white no racial bias here) was preparing food. I asked him if all the people in the lobby, which he could plainly see, were there waiting on a table. He asked "Well did you speak to the greeter?" I said yes but didn't get a clear answer. He gave me an annoyed look and went back to doing what he was doing without saying anything else. My friends and I waited another 5 minutes but at this point I was annoyed and still no signs of anyone getting seated so we left and went to Chengs Garden which turned out to be a pleasant experience. I will not waste my time at Shoguns Shreveport location again! read more

It's more like saltgun.. They love pouring salt on their food it's crazy. Had to get my plate redone and once I got home me and my party of 2 were all nauseous and stomach upset .. Never will I go there again. read more

Great hibachi restaurant! My husband and I ate here tonight and it was delicious! Our waitress Kat was amazing! It was some of the best service I have had in a very long time. Our food was made by Chef Al and it was so flavorful and probably the best I've had at this Shogun. The entire staff was friendly from beginning to end. We will definitely be back soon and would recommend this location to anyone! read more

Kudos to the men and women that train the staff here. Every time I come, I am absolutely impressed by the professional, attentive, and knowledgeable demeanor of the wait staff. As far as I am concerned, this is the best sushi in Shreveport, and possibly in the state of Louisiana. Bonus points for real tiki drinks, fatty tuna, and real wasabi. Charged me for something they did not ring up. Very rude and my food was not prepared fully. Definitely will not go back.

So big banner on front of building says now open for lunch. Hours say 11 am to 2:30 pm for lunch. My family arrives at 2:15 and the waitress says "we closed". Probably a dozen people eating, smell of fresh cooked food, but their closed, sent their chef home. Go to the one in Bossier, much better service read more

If you have been to Benihannas you will know what this place is about. The food cooked right in front you in a show full manner. The house has special drinks that come served in different style cups such as Buddhas and Island girls. The waiters joke around with the guests and perform acrobatic tricks with food as it cooks. If you like Asian grilled food this place is one of the best in town for it. read more

My family's service was exceptional! Our waiter, Aaron, served us quickly and with great manners. When we needed our waters filled, he immediately filled them without even having asked for more water. Our chef, M.K., also was very friendly and kept up conversation the entire time he was cooking. Shogun in Shreveport used to be my favorite place for sushi, but it has clearly gone down in quality and in service. No waiter came to our table for over 10 minutes so that we had to go to the counter to ask to be served, although there was only one other table with customers in the sushi bar area. We had to ask for menus. Not enough pencils were in the table. The food was delivered before we had any napkins and chopsticks (had to ask for them too). The courses (soup, salad, sushi) seemed to all arrive randomly and partially at the same time. The waitress seemed completely overwhelmed. The atmosphere of the sushi bar used to be cozy and quiet, while now it's basically in the entrance. The sushi rolls were sloppily rolled and much too large to be eaten in one bite. Go to one of the many other sushi restaurants in the area and save yourself the trouble! read more

I have dined at this restaurant multiple times over the last 15 years. Sushi and Hibachi restaurants have opened and closed over the years, but this restaurant succeeds, because it has excellent service, fantastic sushi and hibachi entrees, and a wonderful atmosphere. It is locally owned and operated by a family that wants to serve you the best possible dining experience. read more

We had a great experience here. The food was good, reasonably priced and the chef was fun. It's not as good as some of the better restaurants in bigger cities, but it was some of the better hibachi that I've had. The sushi was very good, but not excellent (I'm a bit of a sushi snob, and it was very good, I've just had some truly excellent sushi). And were very accommodating for our gluten issues.
