    Chicken teriyaki
    Warren D.

Date of visit: 12/23/21 We found this place after our original place was closed for several days and decided not to update their website and with a hankering for Asian food on our tongues, we decided to give it a try. The drab, dirty outside should have been the first warning. The long wait for someone to seat us and the dingy interior could have been strikes two and three. There was someone at the front, on the phone, who looked at us several times, but made no attempt to signal to us that they would be with us when they could, which made me wonder if we were supposed to seat ourselves. Eventually someone came and sat us but immediately asked for our orders. We needed a minute as this was our first time here and that minute stretched out for quite some time. There were many similar stretches of time during the meal, though I do understand that they were likely short-staffed. We both had the teriyaki chicken, which was a mixed bag. The chicken was dry, as though it had been cooked earlier and reheated, or took up a summer residence under the heat lamps before being ready for plating. The veggies were blah as well. But the teriyaki sauce was quite good, as was the rice--just had to pick around the giant onions. While so-so, all-around, the biggest issue was that something I ate did NOT agree with me and I had some ill effects that thankfully did not linger and ruin my Christmas!

Over priced food and the server was not that great. They also add on a 20% tip on their own once your party is 5 .

Get the steak, worth every penny. Service was a little slow, only two chefs working. The restaurant was clean.

The rice was pretty wet, prices were extremely high for the quality of food, and atmosphere felt far too dark.

Not great. They scrambled up our order. The food tastes sub par. The service was friendly and prompt. But the rest was very underwhelming.

Chicken katsu, fried mushroom and short ribs are the ramen options. I appreciated that it wasn't your typical salty version. On a cold night, it was a cozy comfort meal and we had enough for lunch tomorrow. Super fresh ingredients, good broths. Note - if you don't want an ingredient be sure to note it when your order online. Our kids can't have chili flakes and they left them out for us. Excellent sesame broccolini as a small plate/side. Chinese walnut cookies were a great ending. Everything was packed very nicely but if we could, I'd rather eat it there in person to save all the plastic tubs that were used for our family of 4. Come spring, we hope to eat outside if the option is there. The only change we wished for were some expanded menu options with the ramen. Build your own ramen would be great. I took a piece of the chicken from my daughter and 1/2 egg from my husband. My husband wished there would have been a pork-protein option and I would have liked a tonkotsu broth on the menu. If you are hankering for some ramen, this Blue-Bear version is a nice treat.

Their lunch offerings is spectacular and they do not skimp out. Especially the boxes. I typically "roll" with the 3 roll social. I ordered 2 of the yam rolls and 1 shrimp/asparagus roll. The special comes with miso soup and salad. Let's start with the soup, it came in at the perfect temperature. It had tofu and the broth was seasoned well. The crispy lettuce was covered with the Japanese dressing which was nice and bright, it was well balanced with rice vinegar and ginger. On to the Shrimp / Asparagus Roll. The asparagus was fresh and crisp. The shrimp was tender. The sushi rice was fluffy. The size of the roll is decent for lunch. Next the sweet potato rolls are my favorite, the tempura battered yams provided a nice crunch with every bite. I like this place but only have been here for lunch. Like I mentioned, we go here to celebrate a team member moving on to their next chapter. Good food, good service, good conversations with great people make this place special.

The space is gorgeous very bright, clean, and modern, with a peaceful vibe. Apparently, there's a hotel attached too. Our group of five sat at the bar, and we had such a great time thanks to our bartender--Rehan (I think that was her name!). She was amazing... super friendly, talkative in the best way, funny, and incredibly attentive. I ordered an iced caramel latte and I haven't stopped thinking about it since. It was seriously one of the best lattes I've ever had--not too sweet, rich, and so well balanced. I made that thing last because I didn't want it to end! For food, I had the biscuits and gravy and... wow. Comfort food perfection. I wasn't planning on finishing the whole plate, but I couldn't stop. Every bite was worth it. I became apart of the clean plate club that morning! Everyone else in our group loved their dishes and drinks too. Between the food, drinks, service, and setting, Apis is a total gem. Can't wait to come back!
