A really good spot to grab a quick bite to eat at. They have plenty of options beyond just the typical bowls. It's cheaper than getting hibachi from a restaurant, and a lot faster too. Total - $36.04 Everything is delicious except the chicken and shrimp bowl because it has zero shrimp. I call and check out the return policy: bring the bowl back (to confirm I'm not lying) in order to have a replacement and you must have your receipt! Guess what? I was not given a receipt. So I'm going back and forth and I told the guy I am all the way in Franklin and it's not worth it to drive all the way back. I couldn't give a fuck less about trying to hustle a restaurant for free food. This is about principle. I spent 36 dollars and did not receive what I paid for. So by being incompetent and not confirming at the restaurant and being too bothered to give me a receipt, there's no replacement in my future. The first guy gave up and gave the phone to someone else who's explaining they cannot just give out food. What? Replacing what you didn't give me is not "just giving out food" and he's asinine as fuck for even saying that. He says he wrote my name down and I hope he really did so they remember to do their jobs and follow process. Ordered extra portions of meat, for a colleague (on a gluten free diet) and requested more vegetables without potatoes and was given extra potatoes. Floor was extremely slippery and the cashier was less than helpful with deciding and ordering from the menu. This is a review for the food truck that is parked at the NCM motorsports park. Huge bowl of rice and meat for the money. Fantastic value compared to any other trackside food. Taking credit card is also a convenience you still don't see at other concession stands. Brown rice is a great option, but definitely get two meats. One is just barely enough to kill the hunger if it's a long day. read more

This is such a great place to grab a quick bite at a cheaper price than the Shogun Bistro location. I love that they have a drive through so I can place my order and they have it ready within 5 minutes when I get to the window! For $6 a roll, their sushi is great quality. And their hibachi bowls are super affordable for a reasonable portion. The employees are always friendly and remember me every time and even give me a student discount! I usually love this place but their customer service is seriously lacking. I pulled to the window and a man read off an order very quickly and I said no that's not my order I just had Crab Rangoon. Then he said oh ok they didn't ring that up. I got home with my order and it was only 4 pieces when I always get a 5 piece and the menu says a 5 piece. So go to call and explain the situation. The man answers the phone and i literally only got the words out "I just came through there and got an order of Crab Rangoon....." before he starts going off yelling screaming cussing. Tonight my husband and I went to shogun express, I had their food before the side rice which I think it sucks, but anyway, lots of restaurant closed on Sunday so we drove by there. My husband ordered the fried rice and steak bowl, I ordered the noodles and sushi. After we got home and ready to eat, I opened the box, wtf, the noodles looks like spaghetti noodles and only noodles, no any veggies it does not like the picture on their ad board at all. I tried one bite and taste awful. And it costs $5.99 for that? Totally makes nonsense!! So I cooked my dinner at home while my husband was eating his meal. After we all done, I was cleaning up the table, I saw lots of oil on the table and found out the noodle box was broken. I never touched after the first bite, and I took a look at the bag, it's oil everywhere. It supposed to be a relaxing Sunday night, but yea the meal ruined my night. We would never go back again, and the food quality is not worth the price you pay. read more

This USED to be my favorite drive-thru. UNTIL YESTERDAY! Pulled up to place my order and had a lady pull straight up to the drive-thru window to place her order. Of course, when I got up there, now 2 cars behind thanks to the inconsiderate person, I was told she had called her order in. YET, I still waited for them to PREPARE HER ORDER! AND THEN (since my window is rolled down and I'm within 8 feet of her talking to the drive-thru employee, I could overhear the lady complaining to the employee about me, knowing I was going to complain about her. THIS, AFTER SHE HAD PICKED UP HER ORDER. NEEDLESS TO SAY, I BLEW MY HORN AND THEN SHE FINALLY LEFT. So when I get up to the drive-thru, I complain to the employee about what just transpired. I get nowhere. I asked to speak to a manager. NONE WAS ON SIGHT! He calls her. I GET NOWHERE AGAIN! I'M TOLD BY THE MANAGER OVER THE PHONE IT IS STANDARD PRACTICE TO ALLOW CALL-IN ORDERS TO JUST PULL UP TO THE DRIVE-THRU WINDOWS CUTTING IN FRONT OF OTHER PEOPLE WAITING IN THE DRIVE-THRU AND SHE WILL TALK TO THE OWNER. I asked to speak to the owner. They don't give out the owner's telephone number, nor did she volunteer to put me through to him/her. Her only concern was why I wasn't getting my order now. I told both the manager and drive-thru employee what I thought (not in nice words about their practice). I myself have placed call-in orders and waited in line behind others in the drive-thru (NEVER CUTTING IN FRONT OF ANYONE ELSE OR GOING INSIDE AND PICKING UP MY ORDER). And what made matters even worse was the employee continuing to have a conversation with the lady even after the lady had gotten her food. Again, THIS USED TO BE MY FAVORITE DRIVE-THRU and I WILL NEVER EAT THERE AGAIN! This is not the first time I've had issues with my service there, but it is one that deserves to be brought attention to. I never really received a true apology - I was made to just believe it was their policy. So very unprofessional of this company. A policy that never should be in place to begin with. Hope they are happy. One customer may not be much in the grand scheme of things, but, hopefully this review will let them know you don't treat customers badly. Oh, by the way .. I'm not sure where to start...we called in the order 30 minutes ahead. But to the wrong place because we googled the number for the new one on Scottsdale Rd. After the Scottsville Rd one told us we were at the wrong one (they called to confirm), we headed to the right one. Got to the right one, but they didn't have the order ready. Had to wait 10 mins for our meal (45 mins since the original call). Got home and the meal was tasteless. Even the sauce provided (supposedly shrimp sauce) had no flavor. The meat was like rubber. The rice and veggies lacked any flavor. The only good part of the meal was the egg roll. As we sat around the table, we all agreed we wished we had just gotten orders of egg rolls instead of our meals. At least then it would have been worth it. read more

We were not impressed. We eat at regular Shogun frequently. I was extremely disappointed they won't exclude certain vegetables. I don't care for zucchini, and the worker let me know very rudely "No substitutions. It's $3.99 if you want something different." I'm not really sure if they are making to order, it would be a big deal to substitute rice instead of vegetables. They do that in the regular restaurant. We weren't impressed with the taste either. It certainly didn't stand up to the quality we expected. The worker was rude, short spoken, and never smiled. Where do businesses find people who ruin their business by having no people skills? The bowls are great for lunch! The drive through is surprisingly quick for a made to order hibachi lunch. The staff is always nice and usually comical and the sushi is top notch. Some of the best in town! I love their Philly Roll, it is a must every time I go. The beef is obviously not the same used at the Shogun Bistro but still good and considerably cheaper. read more

We go through the drive-thru at the Fairview Avenue and Scottsville Road locations several times a month. We were disappointed last week when we got home and realized our food had been seasoned differently. It was somewhat spicy! I don't know if they changed the way they cook it, or if our order was just wrong. I hope they haven't changed it because we went there so much because we like the way they cook it. Me and friends we went to Shogun the Japanese restaurant for lunch. It was good experience and we had so much fun in there. Shogun is a restaurant where you can go with your friends, family, teamwork or even alone, so it doesn't matter who you go with. They will have a place where single person can sit and group of people can sit, different then so many restaurant these days they only serve water at first and anything else the customer has to pay for it is that shogun serves three things and that was a warm soup with mushroom and green onion, and salad with dressing, and glass of water, and customers could older more of it if they want. The food was good and my friends order steak medium done and chicken, but my order was shrimp and steak well done with onion and mushrooms plus the noodles and white rice. The steak I eat was great and especially when I added the onion and mushrooms with it. When it come to the price me and my friends took the specialist they had where two people order the same mill with cheap price and that's was good deal for us. read more

My husband ordered 4 habachi bowls for our family and when we got home and I ate the chicken terryaki bowl i found not 1 but 2 long black hairs (i have blonde hair so wasnt mine) I called to see how they would handle the situation and they told me if i came down with the hairs in my bowl they would make me another one....so after i worked all day and finally sat down to eat i have to drive all the way back for a mistake they made....oh and not to mention i didnt recieve one apology.... will not go back here which is sad because i enjoy Japanese food. read more

I gave them three stars because of the great customer service. The woman that took our order was able to describe each menu item we where interested in ordering, since the menu was somewhat confusing and lacked details of the menu items. This was my first time eating there, although Shogun Bistro is definitely a favorite of mine. So I had high expectations of Shogun express, thinking it would be the same delicious food. I ordered the Los Vegas roll and a side of noodles. Both disappointing. My husband had the bang bang chicken and loved it (he's never ate at the bistro, but we plan to go soon).... My Los Vegas roll tasted bland (I've had better from the Kroger deli) and the noodles where in no way authentic or even close. Definitely spaghetti noodles! And the "white/ Ginger sauce" different from the shogun bistro.... I hate to say negative things about this business, but I was most definitely disappointed. If you want to go to shogun, definitely spend a little extra money and go to the Bistro, not Express! read more
