I had a pair of hitest boots from 1999 that had the soles worn off but the leather uppers looked good. I took them in and had tem repaired. They cleaned, polished, replaced the soles, and laces at 1/4 the cost of new. Highly recommended, impeccable workmanship.

When my wife attempted to use one minutes before the Crim they said those are for employees only and turned her and many other women away to go wait in long lines while there was zero lines for their private port a Johns that were inside the public area for the race. What a joke. It totally put a bad taste in my mouth along with dozens of other runners we spoke with. Well, I got lucky and did not have to travel to Michigan because this company brought their entire inventory of shoes to Chicago for a dance competition. They carry a wide range of manufacturers so trying on those shoes is a necessity because they are all cut, shaped differently. I found the saleswomen to be most accommodating and they spend a great deal of time finding just the right shoe. Shoes can even be special ordered in 2 different sizes, if that be required. True, dance shoes tend to be pricey, with special straps, special buckles, different heel heights (for different dances), and special soles. I know, too much info. When told the cost, I once overheard a man ask if he couldn't just wear bowling shoes ~ knock 'em dead Fred. Since I have been challenged to a Tango showdown by some young whippersnapper next week-end, I need to be prepared. I purchased 3 new pair, no excuses. DANCE ON.
