I may have bought my first skis in 1977 from MC Sports or something like that and have since always…read moregone to a ski shop for my gear. The Ski Co. is one of the best out there. The staff is very knowledgable of the equipment they sell and they take the time to hear what kind of skier you are and recommend the proper gear. If your feet are not comfortable then you will hate skiing! Mick at The Ski Co. and some of their other staff are pros at tuning your boots. I have purchased 2 or 3 sets of boots here and always pay the extra $ to get custom footbed inserts. It presses your feet up into the top of the boot to get rid of any slop and stop your foot from moving forward and jamming your toes, that hurts! I have purchased skis, poles and garments here and have never been unhappy with the product or service received. If you are really into the sport don't waste your time at the big stores like MC, etc. go to a ski shop even if it is not The Ski Co. you will be glad you did. You may pay a bit more but in the long run you will be so happy!

The Ski Company usually has a few pairs of higher end demo skis (very gently used factory demonstrators) available and that's what we opted to buy instead for a price well below list. I have also bought quite a few pairs of skis for myself based on thier recommendations, and couldn't be happier. Prices are always fair. This is the only ski shop I will buy from in MI.

We had done a bit of research but needed a fair amount of guidance, and so were a bit nervous about being treated as "know nothing noobs" by some experienced staff in a specialty shop. Our fears were immediately and permenantly dispelled within the first few moments of working with our salesman, Ben... he was extremely knowledgable, personable and patient in anticipating our questions and providing us with clear, unbiased, non-judgemental guidance on selecting the proper bike for our needs. We found a great machine at a deep discount, and arranged to pick it up over the coming weekend, as we were eager to get our son on the road to take advantage of the cooler fall weather to train. Our second visit to the shop was to pick out some needed accessories (pedal clips, shoes, helmet, etc.), and this is when our buying experience with the CycleFit staff got even better, further convincing us we had come to the right place. We met this time with Bill, another experienced staff member, who patiently explained the various options for pedals/clips/boots and helmets, and helped us select a flexible, lower-priced set-up (rather than trying to steer us toward more than we needed). When we went to pick up the bike the next day, Ben spent time to custom-fit the frame to our son's stature and reach, again explaining in clear language about the optimum settings for his build, training style, and athleticism. When Ben was finished, our son was beaming and anxious to hit the road... which he did in earnest the next day, touring the local rail trail for a planned 20-mile ride. Unfortunately, he soon had a stroke of bad luck, hitting a large patch of broken glass that some inconsiderate fool had left covering the trail, blowing a rear tire in the process and having to walk/carry the bike the 4 mi. back to his car. Totally disheartened, he called CycleFit to inquire about repairs... and was treated to the best possible after-market customer service, including a free replacement tire! We thoroughly enjoyed our buying experience at CycleFit, including learning from the excellent staff there. We look forward to a long association with this business, and recommend them without reservation to anyone seeking a quality cycling product at a fair price, with superb customer service both during and after the sale.

They do lock-in skating events usually during holidays mostly. There are tables for the folks that aren't skating and they have Wi-Fi and a parent room that's quieter. Two seat high tables along the fence for the minor kids and a bunch of random couches by the main entrance. The parent room provides a bit of shelter from the constant noise of wheels rolling over metal plates at the top and bottom of a ramp. The interior is a big open warehouse. Fenced in for the skaters. Not fancy, but lots of different ramps for skateboarding, rollerblading or for razor scooters. My nephew wanted to try out every ramp to see which one was to his liking. Do bring a book, noise canceling headset and maybe a phone charger too. If you need snacks, Kroger is just across Stephenson and Penn Station subs just a half a mile away. They do have some snacks in the 3 vending machine. Probably a bit more fun coming with friends. My nephew felt a bit comfy after a half hour of getting the lay of the land. It can feel a bit chilly in the warehouse. My nephew said there's some fun ramps and runs, he was getting toasty running around some. Not me. He walks some and studies them ahead of skating to see what's on the other side to make sure there aren't any stairs on the other side of a ramp. My nephew likes the two half circle ramp with the flat landing in between. He also enjoyed the bowl, which has a slope to enter it.
