I think of all the things I would never ever want to buy and fill my house with. While the main house of The Weed Lady is technically a gift shop, it couldn't be further from the cheap, overpriced connotations mentioned above. They set the atmosphere in the entryway, with an assortment of tea, coffee, and cookies to enjoy while you browse (edit: this may only be present during Christmas shopping season. Still, a nice touch!). It's obvious that every item in this shop has been deliberately chosen by the owner, and each one uniquely captures the natural environment. Cedar and sage scented candles, stone vases, tempered votives, long-stemmed glassware, handmade soaps... you could spend hours looking at all of the ornaments and decorations on display. Gorgeous, inviting, warm.. it doesn't even begin to describe the atmosphere that they have created in the 3 main rooms of the house. The Weed Lady is also a florist, with quite a large greenhouse in the back. Will definitely have to do more exploring here during the summer. The prices are a bit high, but also fair when considering you're paying for unique, quality products and excellent, knowledgeable service. Have recommended this place to many people in the area and will definitely be returning!

Cute little boutique featuring rustic/farmhouse/shabby chic home decor…read more I stopped in last week and thought the name of the store looked familiar to me. It was and for good reason- it's the sister store of a home decor shop in Tawas City that I remember shopping last summer. That store was super cute and kinda eclectic and so was this one. The store just opened in April and is very much like the shop up north. They mirror each other pretty well, from layout and service to selection and price point. Customer service was nice and attentive and the stock was ample, showcasing plenty of "farmhouse chic" type of decor- candles, vases, furniture, clocks, artwork, signage, etc, much of it in a rustic, upcycled motif. The prices are kinda on the high end for even simple items, but the furniture was pretty reasonably priced. Some of the pieces are pretty garden variety and nothing that unique or that you can't get at Target for much less, but other items (larger pieces) are rather interesting and worth a real look. Overall, a nice store with great service and a mid-range price point for the most part.

Hand-crafted jewelry (which my wife loves), art books, blown glass, art school supplies, prints, sculptures, ornaments, handmade crafts, clothing, objects d'arte, educational toys, kitschy giftware and seasonal gear are all found here. I've picked up a few of the more unique Christmas gifts for my wife here, like jewelry and blown glass crafts. The selection is usually excellent and they often have a small clearance/sale area, including pieces that are sold in tandem with recent/past art exhibit installations in the museum. FIA members always receive 10% off all museum purchases. I'm a member and take advantage of the small discount in the museum gift shop and the cafe nearby. Every time I come in here, there is something new. It's never the same twice. Excellent customer service and overall merchandise quality and selection. The store is located near the front entrance to the museum, across from Isabel Hall and next door to the art rental kiosk and the cafe. It's open whenever the FIA is, including during special evening and weekend events and after hour functions. Otherwise, the shop holds the same business hours as the FIA does. Next time my wife and I stop in for an event, I'm sure we'll wind up picking up something here for ourselves, like an art book or print. It's inevitable.

This mall used to be such a pleasant place to escape to! I walked around in a basically dark, deserted place today. Most lights were turned off, yet the mall was open! Most stores are gone, and the VERY few left are pitiful. Most shoppers would have no reason to to to those stores that are left. Macy's is soon leaving. It won't be long before the rest of the stores and JC Penney decide to vacate. I can't imagine they are taking in much money anymore. Really, really sad. Dark, depressing and empty. The upper level food court is also completely gone. The owners have done nothing to keep this place up and running for the people of Flint. Shame on them.

The stores that are open are only open when they feel like operating apparently. Mall was supposed to be open until 8:00 PM, but MANY stores were closed down before that. Macy's looks like a Goodwill. Their carpet is extremely dirty and old and it's obviously not an issue to corporate- I'm sure they figure it'll close down sooner or later so why bother fixing anything in it? This mall being in this condition makes me so sad. I remember when every single store and food court slot was filled. Now it's a sad shell of a building. Building owners don't care about maintaining it- which is why every other month they're having a water issue. I'm sure this mall will be shutdown completely within the next 5-10 years and it'll just be another abandoned building in Flint.
