Stopped in for lunch today. Elizabeth was our waitress. When we told her it was our first visit she was delighted to tell us her favorite lunch items. We had the shrimp cake appetizer. It was unique and quite tasty. After that we split the Blue Cheese Pecan salad and the Turkey Rockafeller sandwich. Both were delicious. We topped it all off with a couple of dessert shots. They were good too. We will definitely be back on our next trip to Murphy. read more

Love Shoebooties, really good food. We've had a couple of unfortunate evenings there during peak times. Not enough wait staff and one of our guests order was not turned in with our tables order which meant no dinner served to him when other meals were served. The food is good and the staff friendly. Really enjoyed this local restaurant. It's casual, 2 stories. We sat upstairs for a late lunch. They have a lunch and dinner menu. The Special was a delicious spinich, mushroom, and onion quich. Also had multiple hot entrees and sandwiches on menu. I had the chopped sirloin, salad, and baked potatoe. Everything was well seasoned, they used lots of herbs in their cooking. Absolutely great I meesed up and forgot to post when there but you won't be disappointed. Apps were great service good even though one person was waiting and bar tending upstairs. This used to be a good restaurant in the service started getting really slow last time we ate there I will get the sirloin salad have the ingredients one in there the waiter told me there was no bacon I showed him the menu there was bacon about 10 minutes later when my son was half gone the bacon arrived then I noticed there was no red onions by that time my wife was done eating and I said forget about it I used to love that salad read more

We came in on a rainy Friday after the ArtWalk downtown. The parmesan- encrusted pork chops were delicious! The entire meal was paced so that we could actually enjoy our dinner. The waitress was attentive and really earned her wage that night, as the place was packed. We rarely dine out while on vacation but we are glad we came here. I'll have to say that this is the BEST restaurant that I've been too on the western side of NC! The host was friendly and seated us very quickly. The waitress was nice and besides forgetting our napkins a few times, was deligent in serving us. And the food? WAS AWESOME! I had the prime rid special with salad, veggies, and baked potato. Then I had the creme brulee shooter and it was really good! Also, the hostess kept checking on us to make sure everything was okay, which was nice! My husband made rsvp. for my 60th b'day for a party of 5. The drinks were good (peach martines). Our friends ordered the lobster bisque and were brought this in cups.Then later after they had finished were brought bowls since this is what they should have had in the first place. Mine was good (pasta with shrimp) and my daughters sandwich was good. My husband ordered the prime rib special med. well. When brought it was really red and he cut one piece and tried to eat it but ended up spitting it out. He let the waiter know this was to rare and it was taken back. Less than a minute later it was brought back real quick. It was the same one he had cut a piece out of and was browner. The waiter said it was cooked in au jus sauce. My daughter works as a manager in a high in restaurant in Atlanta and said they contaminated the grill putting this back on the grill and in the sauce. We wanted to like this place since it was our first time and have moved here this year. I think the waiters are a little to young or need to be better trained for this restaurant. Hopefully we will give it another try maybe for lunch. read more

Tried to eat here yesterday for dinner. We were sent to the dining room upstairs. The bartender/server wasn't friendly and seemed very distracted and aggravated that we wanted dinner instead of lunch..it was 4:05 a little early for dinner maybe but certainly late for lunch. What was weird is that they start serving dinner at 4 so we weren't sure what was going on. We just got up and left because we felt sure this was going to be an unpleasant experience. read more

Food is usually good but the service has been consistently poor. Just took an hour and a half to get served the special, all you can eat crab legs. Didn't get a reorder or a drink refill, and after sitting without food or drink for another fifteen minutes, went to the register to pay without a check. The person apologized for the service but didn't offer to comp appetizers or drinks like she had done for the table behind me. read more

Ate here New Year's Eve. They have a nice two-for-one menu but the 4 of us ordered from the regular menu. The filet, with the sauce on the side, was a great cut of meat and beautifully prepared. All in my party enjoyed their meals. Here's my thing..... This restaurant gave us a generous pour of wine. It has gotten to where restaurants skimp so poorly on wine that I can't tell you the places I won't return due to it. I understand that 5 oz is the official pour, but miss it by a little and you don't have much wine. I'm starting a campaign about this issue. And the more I pay for the wine the less they pour. ShoeBooties gave us probably 6 1/2 - 7 oz. a silly ounce makes for a lot of good will for customers. Will be back again and it will be my 3 rd visit. read more

We've eaten at this establishment several times, over the past 12 months, and have always had an excellent meal! However, today they dropped the ball, with their service and food. Everything started out okay, when I ordered their loaded potato soup, and it was served very quickly and was very tasty. From then on it was a disaster. Drinks were not refilled when empty, and my wife and I waited an unreasonably long time, before our meal was served! COLD! and not by our server, but some older gentleman who I've never seen there working before. I ordered the chopped steak, medium (hamburger without a bun) and a baked potato, while my wife ordered a Reuben sandwich with chips and onion rings. My chopped steak was served cold ( not lukewarm) and well done with very little onions and peppers on top, not smothered! The baked potato was lukewarm at best, and I had no problem removing the potato from the aluminum foil with my bare hand, and no way would butter melt on the potato. My wife's Reuben sandwich was served cold, and the bread was soggy, along with lukewarm and greasy onion rings and no chips. Not acceptable for a $30.00 lunch not, including tip! read more

Had lunch here our first time in Murphy. We were underwhelmed. The food was okay. We were seated upstairs by the bar. The waitress had to run up and down stairs for anything we needed. We actually felt uncomfortable asking for anything. The waitress was very nice, said she needed the exercise. If you're a drinker of alcohol beverages then this would be perfect seating. Since we are not, it was an uncomfortable place to be seated. Food wasn't great but okay. Hot day, no AC and it was very warm, too warm. All in all the hostess/owner wasn't very friendly but we all have bad days and this must have been her bad day. Waitress was very nice and accommodating. We live in Murphy now but even when we are very hungry and right across the street, we don't want to go back there. It just felt poorly managed. The food nothing to write home about and a little on the pricey side, especially when you're eating in a hot bar/food establishment watching the waitress running up and down a double staircase, UGH describes it all. read more

My husband and I visit Murphy at least 2 or 3 times per year and ShoeBooties is always on our agenda. We were there Thursday night (3/23/17), he had the chopped steak (with grilled onions & mushrooms), I had the Chef's Chicken special, which was a pasta dish with grilled chicken, sausage & penne pasta with a cream wine sauce. Menu is fairly expensive for their "gourmet" dining. They could charge a third of the price and still have the same quality of food. They are completely understaffed for the amount of people they try to cram into this hole in the wall. The food is great but the wait is extremely long (probably because of the understaffing). This is my second time at this restaurant and we will come back again and again. The first time I came with my husband and he had the fish and chips and I had their lobster bisque and quiche. Both meals were delicious. This time around I ordered their baked spaghetti and salad. The salad was fresh. The baked spaghetti was absolutely wonderful. The dish was made with very thin spaghetti pasta, ground beef, homemade sauce and cheese on top. Maybe it had a little too much cheese, but nevertheless the dish looked great and it tasted great. I ordered the build your own pasta plate and decided on the marinara sauce. The sauce was the WORST I have ever eaten. It was so SWEET and reminded me of canned sauce. If my memory serves me correctly, aren't there suppose to be other spices and seasonings in this type of sauce? If you enjoy sweet canned marinara sauce for your pasta, then go for it. Attempted to enjoy my birthday evening here,but that did not work.Traveled an hour & half from home for a quick getaway.Driving into Murphy,noticed this restaurant.Decided to sit downstairs!Finally, seated & hungry!Looked over menu, found many possibilities.Continued to wait...and wait.Finally after waiting for more than 10 minutes with absolutely NO interaction from any staff..we left.Went down the street, spent over $100.Idk about the owners,but I would rather that money stayed at my business. read more

Went there the other night with a friend and we both ordered what was called the oscar seared scallop special. It was described as seared scallops with lump crab with a hollandaise sauce surrounded by asparagus. After over an hour and a half we received scallops on what was best of a half cup of linguine (not described) rubber white small scallops , 2 asparagus , shredded crab I assume left over from all you can eat crab night on top and NO hollandaise. I asked where the sauce was and she brought us both out a cold yellow sauce no where near hollandaise with capers and dill in it. When asked she assured me yes this was their hollandaise. It was awful and did not go on our meal. The price was 22.00 for this I had two bites. I have been here for over 16 years and have been to shoebooties a lot and I have to say that in my experience the prices have gone way UP and the quality and quantity has gone way down. If my order had been even close to it was described I would not be writing this but it was inedible. I don't blame the waitress as she apologized for the wait, but they were not full we were one of the first people of the night on a weekday. To top it off my to go order for my daughter was wrong as well which use to be her regular favorite as well. I can no longer recommend this as an option when your competition is leagues above they know how to sear a scallop and a simple hollandaise. read more
