Finally had an excuse to go out this way and give this place a try after a coworker recommended it a few times. Had been craving pho for a while, and wanted to go before it got too warm outside. Inside is nice and spacious. Staff is all very friendly and welcoming. A very no fuss, no frills experience which is what I prefer. Food was delicious. One of my favorite foods is pho. Such a seemingly simple dish but is actually quite complex to build the flavor of the broth. Pho 99 serves up a solid pho, not the best i've ever had - but it is the best in the Knoxville area, all of their vegetables were bright and fresh. I got a large P11, which includes all the meats - including tripe and soft tendon. Everything was really good, I know some people are turned off by the thought of eating the extra bits but you should try it at least once. Next time I will get a medium, the large is a lot of food. The service was quick and polite, the walls need a good scrub down but the table and seats were clean. Lots of available parking. I've eaten here several times, and the offerings (Pho soups and noodle dishes) always have been tasty and fresh. The same goes for this visit to Pho 99 although there were a few "hitches" with service. The one server on duty informed our table of six that only one wok was operational and therefore he would bring our plates/bowls to us one at a time. He brought out the last order while the rest of us were finishing our meals. I had requested a plain soda water to drink and surprisingly was charged $3.25 because it was labeled as a soft drink on the tab. In addition, cheques came with an 18 percent service charge that varied in cost depending on the subtotal of our individual bills. That was the second surprise. The third surprise was a 64-cent charge because I used my credit card instead of cash to pay for my meal. Thus a medium bowl of beef pho $14.99 with a glass of soda water $3.25 came to $18.24. The $3.40 service charge plus the $0.64 card charge plus the $1.69 sales tax brought my bill to a whopping $23.97. read more

Genuinely one of my favorite places to go on cedar bluff. Foods always great staff are super nice and the pho portions do not miss. It's very roomy inside even when there are a ton of people. Fast and quick service with great pho! I had never tried it before but it was fantastic and made me want to get it again. Each pho can be modified and naturally comes gluten free. Being from California, I was skeptical getting pho in Knoxville but it was raining and I needed something warm and this really hit the spot! I got the pho that had steak and tripe! The broth was flavorful, it came with all the typical toppings, and was very fairly priced! My only area of improvement was that the pieces of meat were clumped together. I'm assuming they were frozen meat slices and just didn't separate in the soup. The service was great; very fast and the waitress was really nice! We used to eat here often but stopped because the food quality went down badly. Since it had been a few years, we decided to try it again hoping for a new kitchen staff. Unfortunately, it has gotten worse. I ordered a large, rare beef and brisket pho. It reeked of old, spoiled meat, and it was not palatable. While sitting there I decided to google the restaurant and saw that the health inspector recently found roaches in the kitchen and failing refrigerators. Although these were supposedly fixed, the health score was only 90. Having been a restaurant owner in the past I was disgusted. I will never go back and cannot recommend it to anyone. I am considering reaching out to the county health inspector because someone could get sick. read more

Came in to eat on 11/08/2025 for dinner with my girlfriend half way thru our meals we notice a cockroach crawling on the wall and on our table and instantly quit eating. While waiting on service to come by i was checking my soup for bugs and found a fly. Now a couple hours later i am sick will not be returning. I noticed the other review about a cockroach in the food never got a reply never used to see stuff like this here maybe theres new management. Also noticed them harassing someone else who left a review commenting on the consistent fruit flys everywhere arguing there isnt any YES there is. I was craving a hearty soup and pho came to mind since I haven't had it in a while. The pho and shrimp spring rolls were delicious and satisfied my craving. I ate all the spring rolls and the medium pho was enough for lunch the next day. I like spicy food, so I added crushed red pepper. They did provide a sriracha packet with my to-go order, but that wasn't enough heat for me. I've been craving Pho for months! I figured since I was in Knoxville solo, I'd give them a try. The first thing I noticed was the size of the restaurant, it's huge! But they only seem to use one side of their space. I was seated quickly and my server was there in a blink. I knew what I wanted and ordered the P1. Food came out quickly. It was hot and smelled delicious. I admit my Pho experiences have been mostly in the Bay Area of California where you can find amazing Pho restaurants everywhere! I said why it shows 2000 closing. She said we have a big table so basically they want to go home early. Came to this spot because our usual pho place was closed that day. As soon as, my husband & I entered, we were greeted right away, but the smell threw us off. It smelled very fishy and felt like we were dinning next to a ocean. We still decided to give the food a try and we were seated right away. For appetizers, we got vegetarian spring rolls, which came with peanut sauce, sprinkled with crushed peanuts. It's your average spring rolls and peanut sauce, nothing too special, it had glass noodles, a piece of tofu and carrots. For the main entree, I ordered the vegetarian pho (+tofu, white onion & cilantro - I asked for no mushrooms, carrots, Napa cabbage & broccoli). The vegetarian pho was okay, the broth tasted quite different (this was before adding the toppings and soya sauce. After adding the toppings, soya sauce and hot sauce, it tasted bit better. As for my husband, he ordered the chicken pho (+chicken, white onion, carrots & cilantro). He thought his broth tasted different than the usual pho he gets, maybe it was a different pho chain? not sure, what it was, it's sorta indescribable. The waitress quickly brought the toppings (bean sprouts, mint, jalapeños, lime & cilantro). The table already had sriracha sauce, chili paste and soya sauce. Overall, this place and service is alright, it's just the smell that throws us off. Would we come back anytime soon? Probably not. I was honestly quite surprised when I walked into here and saw what it looked like inside. It looked really nice inside. We came during the Covid time, so I really liked how they didn't leave condiments on the table. I've ate at a few other places where I've walked in, and they still had condiments left on the table during this period. Food wise- I really loved their pho broth. They have a really good pho broth. Sometimes when I eat pho at other places, the broth can be overwhelming sweet. Here, I think the broth is perfect. I also really liked their coffee. We didn't get to drip it ourselves since it already came out in a cup of ice, but the flavor was very good. I also tried their banh mi sandwich. I felt that the sandwich was pretty average. We were visit Gatlinburg and wanted some pho so we drove an hour out to Pho 99. The place is very clean and open. The workers were attentive and friendly. We arrived at 11 and there weren't much customers. But as soon as we ordered, there were people dropping in like flies (which is a good sign). We ended up getting the beef combo pho and bun Bo hue which was very flavorful. Only thing is that, the appearance could be much better. There was only a few pieces of cilantro and green onions and that's the best part about pho, the greens! We got an avocado bubble tea as well and it was good. Get the pork banh mi when you come here! We were blown away with the flavor of the pork, the bread was crusty but soft, they had great veggies in it. We used to go to a Banh Mi sandwich place in LV and this one blew theirs away. We also had a bowl of sirloin pho. It was good, nothing special. As we ate it the flavors developed and it was a little better. It did satisfy my craving for a nice warm bowl of pho. There is a huge interior in the restaurant and they had nice background music playing, it felt peaceful. Our waitress helped us right away and service was pretty quick. Soooooo I've had better and I've had worse. I've been here before, maybe last year and I would say the quality is about the same. For Knoxville, this is actually pretty good. Since being back in Knoxville, I realize you probably have to give ethnic food a small town scale. We got the summer rolls with shrimp and the P1 pho which has tripe, meatballs, and beef sirloin and shank. My mom and I both got a medium size and it was a good amount, although the meat was like a piece of each of the included meats. The broth was pretty good, not too salty, and you can season it to your taste with the provided bean sprouts, basil, lime, and jalapeños. The medium size was $10.50 and large is $11.45. Large is much bigger so if you have the appetite that's probably more worth the money. Service was fine, as you would expect at asian restaurants --to the point. read more

The egg rolls came out quickly, but I noticed something sticky (think of a booger) on one of them. Took a bite of the other one and it was god awful. I told the worker there was something on the egg roll and he asked if I wanted another and I said no thanks. The beef pho would've been really good if it wasn't so salty. I'm Vietnamese and had high hopes because I love eating at Phó shops. Started off ordering Thai tea with boba, the Thai tea tasted smoky, almost chemically, I assume maybe it was from an old canned Thai Tea or something, and the boba was old, was mush in my mouth. By the time my Pho came out I wasn't feeling the best, but I started eating anyway, when I finally started to enjoy my food I realized there was a bug floating around in it. So at that point I just asked for the check and left. Service was also super slow, felt like an eternity in there. I was given a recommendation for Pho 99. The place is easy to get to from I-40 if you pay attention. The parking lot is clean and large as it serves a lot of stores in the shopping center. Inside of Pho 99 has a traditional restaurant area and a Karaoke bar. Not sure if the bar was full service as I didn't go into that area and I didn't pay attention to the menu for drinks. I had the quail as an appetizer. It was good. It came out with a lime and some sort of spice seasoning. It was unique and good. For the main dish, I had the P11 - Shank, brisket, tripe and tendon. The flavor was ok. I wish I had been given more cilantro. I love tripe but it seemed to have just a couple of pieces. I am used to having a lot of tendon and tripe. This didn't have a lot of meat. Look, I understand it's a noodle soup. I just was disappointed at the lack of tendon and tripe. I had a French coffee. It was delicious and the caffeine was needed that evening. Price was good.
