1-Star Review for Shoe Palace I went to return a pair of New Balance shoes this morning that I had bought less than 24 hours earlier. I had only tried them on inside my house for about 30 seconds, but when I brought them back, the store manager immediately refused the return. He looked at the bottom of the shoes and claimed I had worn them outside just because there were a few tiny pieces stuck in the sole. I explained that it was cat litter from my floor, not dirt or rocks, but he didn't care. What made it worse is that he didn't even ask to see my receipt -- just jumped to conclusions and treated me like I was trying to return used shoes. The shoes were basically brand new, and I followed all the return conditions. The manager was rude, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. For a store that sells premium shoes, you'd expect way better customer service -- especially for a return within the same day. Won't be shopping at Shoe Palace again. Do better. read more

Big bright store with lots of options and brands. Friendly employees who treat you well. When so many just buy online these days it is nice to try on shoes before you buy. I've been wearing mostly dunks the past years. Its getting very expensive and I was playing around with the idea of AirMax 90s as or something similar - possibly something with more ground feeling. Dunks are great - I can find them with built with premium materials if I go back a few years and I like to feel the ground when I'm working. I was playing around with getting something different for a jogging shoe or workout shoe. AirMax seems very comfortable but thought it was a bit too much like walking on marshmallows. Tried to look for some training shoes or some other skateboard shoes that were made of either premium leather or fabric toe boxes. There are so many options but I'm so used to a specific look and feel. I will try to come back and look more at all the options. I just spent a few hundred dollars and had absolutely 100% full attention of the workers..which made sure I had help finding what I was looking for with wonderful attitudes! I'm an impulsive buyer. If I like something I will buy. I am the walk-in customer. I ask to try on two pairs of shoes by a young kid employee. I wait almost 15minutes. Mind you there are a lot of employees just walking around doing nothing.. The kid comes back and looks at me and says, "oh I thought you left." Then he walks towards re-trying to find them. I lost it. I was like I'm so good. Idk if the other employee noticed but he asked soon after if I needed help. I was so done after that. Walked in looking to buy some shoes, A few days ago it was 6/20/18 around 3pm. All the employees were at counter talking and laughing. There was no greetings no nothing. Came in and store seemed pretty busy, was approached by a worker named Destiny. She had excellent customer service and knew exactly what she was taking about when it came to shoes. Directed me to the correct area but seemed to be busy with another customer so advised me someone would be able to help me in that particular section. Waited a while but like I said it seemed pretty busy. Probably should consider a head count during this pandemic. The store was crowded but he took the time out to show us several pairs of Converse for my daughter who wears a size 8 in womens but she can wear a size 7 in men's. Despite their huge selection, I am extremely disgusted and thrown off by this place and the rude salespeople. I was looking everywhere to find some Jordan Retro 9s, and I was so happy to finally find them here. I was ready to buy them but I noticed that there were plenty of creases on the shoe and it didn't fit as well as I'd like. I wanted to get a smaller size but the rude saleswomen had to give her opinion and say "no, don't get a smaller size, your feet will be squished when you wear your socks." So listened to her even though I knew damn well they were big, and I was ready to buy it but the creases still bothered me. If I'm paying that much money for some shoes, I want them as perfect as I can get them, fresh out of the box. So when I declined the sale, she just threw the shoes into the box and stuffed the tissue paper in it. I am never coming there again thanks to their carelessness and poor customer service. Ok first off return policy is garbage. You can only exchange or get store credit. No refund even if you return a minute later. Thats so ridiculous. Second off, I've been putting in for shoe raffles quite some time now at this location and never won a raffle. I even did the unpopular sizes and nothing! Not even a shoe that did raffle but come to find out didnt sell out, I still didnt win. WTF! Rigged? Janky? Simply retarded? Whatever you want to call it, its that. I was able to get a pair of Jordans here way back to the beginning of this year. Aside from the fact that the people who work here are trying to get a sale out of you (common recurrence at all Shoe Palaces), I had a good experience of buying my shoes. I asked for my size, one of the floor reps said they'll check, and apparently had what I was looking for. Normally the popular Js sell out quickly upon store opening, but they still had a couple popular sizes available on the afternoon on release day. If Foot Locker, Finish Line, Footaction, or Champs run out of new Jordans shortly after opening (the aforementioned stores usually open earlier than normal), Shoe Palace usually opens up at the time the mall opens. So if you struck out early in the morning and you have the time to wait, consider it an option. As far as releases go, they generally carry GRs (general releases). I haven't seen a lifestyle or quickstrike ever pop up here. I could be wrong, but just call them to ask if they're getting whatever you're looking for. No refunds though! read more

Asked one of the guys working if he could look for a size for me, he went back to look for my size and 2 seconds later went running past stating real quick someone was checking on those for me. 10 mins later after waiting, went up to the counter and they said he went home. I ordered the retro 11 Jordan's online and I never received them. Shoe Palace uses OnTrac Shipping company and one of their employees stole my shoes before they could make it to my house. I tracked the shoes and the last place they made it was to their Hayward location and then all of a sudden "disappeared" says OnTrac! I have called shoe palace 20 times and left voicemails and emails and no one has responded to me. I am $280 down the drain at this point. This is the worst customer service that I have ever experienced in my life. You have a customer service phone number for a reason, but no one answers it or listens to the voicemails. Pros: The energy in this shoe palace is amazing compared to others. The assistant manager Tenia was so upbeat and happy creating a welcoming environment. Darell was knowledgeable about every shoe I had questions about and the cashier Essence was very attentive, making sure to check that my shoes were the same size Cons: Store and display shoes were slightly dirty/dusty. I noticed some of the staff members talking amongst each other instead of helping the few customers in the store, i understand there was only 3 customers & 5 workers but they didn't even seem to acknowledge us until we walked up to them. Gave this place 3 stars because we had to ask for help & it could use a good clean up. Once the staff pays attention to you, customer service is hands down FIVE STARS!! read more

I went to Shoe Palace on August 11th at 6:30 p.m. looking for a size 14 Jordan shoes and upon entering I was greeted by Evelyn and told her what I was looking for and she so kindly went to the back brought me out everything they had in the size I was looking for which again is a size 14 in men's and helped me pick the best shoe for my 13 year old who is starting High School the following day. I had to send my son pictures of the shoes Evelyn very kindly and patiently waited while I took the pictures and send them to my son and then helped me pick out a shirt, shorts, socks and a backpack. Mind you the store closed at 7 and they were completely packed with parents doing their back-to-school shopping and I just couldn't believe the customer service Evelyn bestowed upon me. Never once did I feel like I was an inconvenience or never rushed she was literally the ideal employee that any employer would want in their store or business. Literally gave me service with a smile the entire time she never walked she always ran and she was so funny. I'm not from Hayward but was desperate to find shoes and made a final pit stop at Shoe Palace before quitting my search and I can honestly say I will continue to go back there as long as of Lynn is there because she is absolutely amazing the sweetest girl I've ever met and definitely look forward to seeing her again. She not only gave me the best service I've ever received anywhere but also gave me fashion tips on how to dress my kid which was amazing. If you ever go to this place definitely look for Evelyn if you need any tips when it comes to anything in that store she is the go-to gal. Everybody in this store was absolutely amazing so kind and patient funny Interactive but Evelyn went above and beyond and I just wanted to give her some kudos for that and I wish that I could have given her a cash tip or something but this girl deserves a raise or a bonus a vacation I don't know but she is the best at what she does hands down. read more

If I can give negative stars I would. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS STORE. I went there 4 weeks ago to purchase this pair of Nike (not Jordans) rubber shoes. They did not have the shoes in my size so they checked their other stores. They found one in my size but the store was in the Peninsula. Then, they told me that they can have those shoes delivered to their store ONLY IF I pay for them right then and there. They told me that it was a SURE THING as long as I prepay for it, and that they will arrive within a week. They even told me that they will call me once the shoes arrive so I can pick them up. So I went ahead and paid for them. 3 weeks had passed and no shoes arrived. I also never received a call from them. I called them multiple times within that span of 3 weeks to do some follow-ups, but they just scoffed at me. What was odd was that when I called their store in the Peninsula, they confirmed that they did ship the shoes. I'm guessing that the shoes actually arrived but they sold them to someone else --- the shoes that I already paid for. What annoyed me more was that the last time I talked to them on the phone, I was given the 'We should not be doing this, but as a FAVOR, we will just give you a refund.' crap. WTF!? Just in case you do not know, they do not give refunds. Only store credits. Also, when I went there for the refund, they did not even apologize or did not give any explanation. They simply did not have the decency to admit that they messed up, over-promised, or lost the shoes. And when I asked for the names of the associates who assisted me the first time so I would not need to re-explain my situation, the manager defensively asked 'Why are you asking? Did they physically hurt you?'. Another WTF moment. Anyhow, if you are in the shoe game and this store has what you are looking for, then go ahead and buy from them. Just avoid the guys named Cameron and Keith. But if you are just in the mall window-shopping, browsing, and looking for shoes to buy, do yourself a favor and GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. They might just force you to buy shoes from them that they do not even have. The guys from Sheik, Finish Line and Foot Action are definitely more helpful. They will deal with you straight-up. This store has also had bad reviews here in Yelp about some of their associates being rude, which happens to be true. In my case, it was the manager. Please do not flag/filter this. My son and I came in today when I found out that they still had a pair of Jordans in my size. We were greeted by the whole staff as we entered the threshold. The sales associates were very helpful due to the fact that they actually come to you and offer help unlike other shoe stores. That was a plus! Especially to someone like me, filled with questions. Honestly, I was kinda iffy to come due to the few negative reviews up here on yelp but my experiences today didn't reflect any of those. I was told they were under new management. And kudos to the sales associates, they came back with the shoes I asked for so fast, it was crazy!! Love love love this place! They got a huge selection of shoes, the guys that work there are very knowledgable about the shoes they have for sale and what inventory is coming in. They are really fast when trying to find the shoes you want, got me the two pair of shoes I wanted within a short period of time. The guy was extremely nice to give me a discount since I was purchasing 2 pair of shoes! As to Elizabeth B.'s review, they post the store policy, they don't have to tell you, its your own responsiblity to read it before purchasing the shoes, I've never had a problem with exchanging shoes and getting a store credit at any Shoe Palace. 5 star rating, and it is good as it gets when it comes to buying shoes. read more

SHOE PALACE SUCKS !!! Customer service representatives suck ! There fucken policy sucks !! I ordered some Jordan's online back in December that cost $199.99 but with 2 day shipping which was $29.10 (x-mas gift) and taxes was $248.59. Original delivery date was Dec. 19 so I call customer service for days after Christmas and still no package . I called many many times and was hung up on 3 times I left voice mails and no call backs and I E-mailed and they never replied ! Finally got ahold of them and turns out my package was "lost" so I had to file a claim which would take 30 business days excluding holidays while they "investigate" what happened since there was no tracking information after Dec.20. Last Tuesday February 19th I called and I was told my refund went through to wait for 48 hours to show on my card. I said ok can I speak to your manager I want to to complain about everything they told me manger was out that I can speak to a lead . I'm speaking to the lead and she told me I was only refunded $100 out of the $248.59 !!! Why didn't the respective tell me that she made it seem like it was fully refunded !!! I was so mad ! I was told it was in there policy to only refund up to $100 so I did research and turns out it was in very tiny print. Their policy is so stupid what the fuck am I suppose to do just sit here and be like ok thank you go head and keep the other $148.59 . FUCK NO ! That's my hard earned money to let some company just keep it like that !! I went off and they called me back the next day and told me I will only be refunded $100 and because I'm so upset they can only give me $99.99 in store credit they aren't including the taxes and the amount of extra shipping I spent . I said I don't want business with you guys no more you guys suck ! I want my money back how hard is that . I was told it the best they can do so take it or leave it . I told them ok store credit I want it in a gift card or gift certificate I was told no they can't do that because they don't sell or take gift card because they have different inventory than retail stores . If I wanted to continue with the store credit I had to do it on line with their stupid rewards system!! I left it at that $99.99 in online store credit. So what am I just susto let them keep the over $48.50 hell no !! That's a full gas tank for my car ! Ima keep fight it til I get every fucken penny i spent ! That policy is theirs is so stupid they just want to rip people off of there hard earned money like nothing . This is the most WORST experience I have ever had when doing a Jordan raffle. After going all over the place to make sure I got all of my raffle tickets, I won a pair here. As I'm waiting in this HUGE line to get my shoes, I notice that they are letting people in from the side. They never waited in line, they didn't even win the raffle! But still managed to skip ahead and get shoes. This is totally out of line. Things like this is what causes fights and shootings for these shoes. What can I say.... These guys were great, the minute I put a foot in the palace they greeted me and when I asked for what I wanted. I'm not bsing you 2 guys ran to the back and had the shoe withing 20 seconds. LOL unfortunately I had made a mistake and had asked for the wrong type of shoes (Yes, you know who I am). After that he ran back in there and brought my size and was very helpful. This type of service is very rare to find nowadays.
