On Thursday, May 30th, I went into the location in Uvalde, TX. My little girl needed new shoes and I had never shopped in this store. My husband and I decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, the manager at this location (Angie Vera) was so rude to me. She gave me attitude, shouted at me and cut me off when I had questions. All because my husband and I giggled at the clearance sign on a pair of shoes that read: was $14.99 you pay $14.99. We thought perhaps it was a mistake, so when I asked asked the cashier, Angie stormed up there and said, "It just means that when there is one pair left, that you can get it at that price. Doesn't always mean cleanable...NOW DO YOU GET IT?". I'm sure there are cameras that captured her storming up there and also her body language, as well as her bobbling head from all the attitude she was giving me. I am not a confrontational person but it was very upsetting that she would act this way ESPECIALLY in front my my two babies. They are only 1 & 2 years old. Honestly, I was quite embarrassed that I was treated this way. I reached out to The Shoe Dept team on Facebook and was told someone would call me. Sure enough, writhing a few days, I got a phone call from a manager. She was very defensive and told me that it didn't sound like Angie to act that way and then went on to imply that maybe she was provoked. I felt like she was trying to accuse me of stirring something up to upset Angie. The manager was absolutely no help, so I have to come here to let everyone know how unprofessional this place is run. Sadly, it starts from the top and rolls downhill. Whether she had a bad day or not, it is not the customer's fault. I have bad days too and I don't snap at anyone, especially at work. After posting about my experience on my personal page, numerous comments flooded my post about how she is known for having that horrible attitude and explains why she has never kept a job for long. read more
