I also wasn't able to eat during that time and had lost a lot of weight, including muscle. I felt self-conscious about my body and still emotionally raw from the scare. A nice woman I would later learn is the owner Liz saw me quietly looking for some suits in this very busy store. She asked me if she could help. I briefly explained what was going on, and she pulled multiple suits. She stayed near my dressing room to give me feedback and was just beyond caring and considerate. She made me feel welcome, and I felt much more confident.

I've been shopping at this store for many years & always make a stop there when I'm on vacation at…read morethe beach. Great selection of clothes & pretty reasonable prices. Although there are always several salesladies working there at a time, I have never found them very helpful & always have to keep coming out of my dressing room to exchange sizes, or whatever myself. I've also noticed for a few years (& pointed out to the salesladies) that there are inches of dust on top of the wood beam framing in the dressing rooms, which is disturbing. Another issue is that the store is usually pretty busy, however, there is only 1 register for check out. I always have to wait quite a while to pay, which could be avoided if just another register was added. There is plenty of space for another register as that counter area is a good size. I have also mentioned this to the salesladies, but they usually give me an annoyed look back. I do really like this store, but really wish these issues could be rectified...

Note I did check out a few other "surf" shops in OCMD that were quite frankly a hot mess and junky. The outside and inside was very pristine and well kept. Probably overpaid for a Ron Jon logo one but alas I'm from the West Coast and I thought it was cool. When I got back home I found a cute Ron Jon sticker they put in my bag. The last two times we've been to OCMD my Old Lady wanted to come to Ron Jon on some sort of nostalgia trip since the last time she had been to one was thirty-ish years ago at a long since closed location somewhere in NJ. My take on what they sell here...Hard No. If you're into pastels, bold colors, more cut off shirts then Larry the Cable Guy owns, loud prints and logoed corporate merch then I guess you might be good here. But, if you're an anti-consumer like myself, you'll last about three minutes before your eyes will roll back in your head like a shark chomping down on a harbor seal waiting for the deliverance of leaving. The staff we encountered was very nice and they answered a question or two my wife asked regarding the few trinkets she wanted. The value of the payout for the 16 items was decent for the # of items, but not for their actual worth, which was expected, I just wanted it all out of my closet! The staff were SUPER nice and so helpful. 5 stars for the staff -- the only reason I gave 4 stars was because of their surprisingly low selection on what they accepted. The store overall was VERY CLEAN and well organized! The store is pretty small (the only location I have been to), but they have a pretty wide selection. I will say that they have a much wider womens selection than they do men's, but still a lot to choose from. The prices are low / moderate for the items. I will definitely come back to shop, and possibly consign in the future. I will warn with consigning to them that they look at the manufacture date tag (usually a small white tag on the inside side of the garment), and will only take items that have been purchased within the last two years. That being said, I had a ton of NWT AE jeans that were purchased over the summer (some staple jeans still in store) and they did not accept them. Some of this was due to their current stock, but I wanted to let everyone know! Overall it was a good experience and I'll be back!
