I usually always buy one piece suits but a recent boat trip convinced me that a tankini might be a good plan for those marina bathroom stops. Having never bought one before I didn't know where to start but these folks are pros listening carefully to what I wanted to cover, what fit challenges I had and what I liked. If you shop here, make sure you love what you are buying, they have a no return policy. I was unaware of it. I bought a suit and brought it home and my mirrors and camera looked very different than what I thought it looked like in the store. I wanted to exchange just the top which had all tags. It was only tried on at home once and looked like an old lady according to my friends and daughter. Nope. They said we have a no return policy and tell every customer. I guess except me because I never would have bought it. I have spent hundreds of dollars here and won't be anymore. I'm giving the suit to a friend's mother who will look appropriate in it. read more

I used to love this shop. My daughter has bought over 4 bathing suits here - has easily spent over $500. She paid the full price of $168.00 for the most recent one. She wore it one time and the the material discolored from the sun - really a bathing suit discoloring from the sun after one wear? We just took it back to the store to see if they could offer her a partial credit or replacement. Very disappointed to hit a brick wall with the store owner. I realize this is a small business and they are not the manufacturer of what they sell, but clearly for the prices they charge they need to better vet their suppliers for sun resistant and color fast fabrics. read more

Great shop and a HUGE selection of bathing suits and coverups. There is something for everyone in every size, color, style and the quality is top notch. I had no idea how nice it was inside, can't really tell from the outside. Definitely worth going if you need a suit and like me try on 20 or more before you find one you like. I absolutely hate shopping for bathing suits but this place rocks and the salesperson that helped me, I think her name is Liz was the BEST! They are not at all pushy like some boutiques that just won't leave you alone. This place rocks, the only reason I didn't give them 4 stars is it's on the high end from a pricing standpoint. This is the best swimsuit store ever! I am in my early 60's and found beautiful youthful swimsuits with the helpful guidance of the owner, Nancy. These women know swimsuits. After seeing one suit on me she brought in several that were spot on. I ended up buying three! I also bought two fun skorts for golf and a casual dress to wear out for dinner. Yikes major $$$ spent that week, but worth it. I love every piece and get compliments everytime I wear a piece. Great suits and great customer service with a smile! read more

I have been searching for a good bathing suit all summer. I'm 40, medium build. No longer feeling suits you find in Victoria's Secret or Jcrew are age appropriate or well fitting. But not looking for a very modest fitting suits either.I had no luck at Macy's, Everything but Water, or Nordstrom. I went to few surf shops in OC with no luck. So happy I stopped in here. They have a ton of options, all separates, a lot of designers ones too like Betsy Johnson, Trina Turk,etc. I tried on many suits. The lady working here was so nice to help with fitting and making suggestions. I bought a couple suits and left super happy. I wish I can shop here all the time. read more

This place does swimsuits and coverups. They know their audience and have tiny bikinis to suits for people like me who need 'support'. They have great service with ladies who know how to fit people. My selective daughter said they had the right selection w easy to find options for fit. read more

If I could give it negative stars I would. Yesterday 2 of my friends and I went bathing suit shopping. One of the sales people was extremely rude (later was told it was the owner which makes the experience even more appalling). My friend was looking for a conservative suit for a specific event. When my friend stepped out of the dressing room with the suit on the sales person said "oh my God I hate that it looks like you just gained 20 pounds." Really? There wasn't a better way to say that? How about "you know I really prefer one of the other ones on you you have such a cute body but the suit doesn't showcase it." I turn to the salesperson and said "I can't f'ing believe you just said that to her". The salesperson did not apologize and continued to try and bring suits for my friend to try on. My friend is a 50 something smoking hot woman with voluptuous curves who has worked hard to get where she is today and owns a nutritional supplement business. Thank God my friend has a healthy self image. Imagine the damage this statement could've done with someone who struggles with the way they look. I would go naked before I spent a dime in this place!!!! read more

Wow! What a difference a year makes. Clearly, there has been some reorganizing at Body Double. Because my experience in 2013 was so unlike what I'd encountered in past years, I decided to give it one more try. Nancy, the original swimsuit designer/store owner is back in the store (Under the Banyan Tree is closed)! Even though she's sold the suit construction/sewing to someone else, the level of service from the past is back! Nancy was happy to help and provided suggestions for fit. I ordered two suits which arrived in the mail last week. I am happy to say my confidence in this small business is as high as it used to be. Thanks for a job well done and a reputation nicely restored. read more

Body Double and Under the Banyan Tree have the best selection of swimsuits as well as great high end clothes. The sales staff and the owner Nancy were so helpful in picking out outfits that looked good on my body! They always have something different and interesting. They even have men's clothes, my husband loves the Tommy Bahama line! I go everytime I'm in town and always find something new. The stock changes all the time. read more
