Note I did check out a few other "surf" shops in OCMD that were quite frankly a hot mess and junky. The outside and inside was very pristine and well kept. I love all the brands Oakley, Costa, Rip Curl, etc. The staff was pretty nice. I did buy a Ron Jon pop socket for my phone. Probably overpaid for a Ron Jon logo one but alas I'm from the West Coast and I thought it was cool. When I got back home I found a cute Ron Jon sticker they put in my bag. My take on what they sell here...Hard No. If you're into pastels, bold colors, more cut off shirts then Larry the Cable Guy owns, loud prints and logoed corporate merch then I guess you might be good here. But, if you're an anti-consumer like myself, you'll last about three minutes before your eyes will roll back in your head like a shark chomping down on a harbor seal waiting for the deliverance of leaving. We have always talked about what our Surf Shop would look like if we ever opened one and what brands we would create. So, after years of dinner time conversations we decided to go ahead and do it! Each one of our children developed their own brand. Alyssa helped develop our lead brand for Layton Surf Company. Christian came up with Country Surf. Country Surf is a lifestyle brand that combines beach and the beach country music vibe. Hence Country Surf's Moto "Surf, Sand and Song". Zachary came up with Water Sports Performance Gear, or WPG for short. Zachary loves all things you can do on the water, fishing, kayaking, SUP, jet skis, etc. This brand does not just focus on fishing, but anything related to water sports. Somer created Summer Skye which is our ladies surf style brand. Summer Skye's motto is "Ocean, Sky, Earth." Somer would often go into other surf shops and notice that there are not many options for girls, so she has set out to change that.
