I like the store but the staff and mgr are literally useless and brain dead. Bought Vuori pants there and wanted more colors, mgr told me she'd call the buyer and call me back.....never heard back. Went online and bought them direct from Vuori. Went to the store today to buy some long sleeve tees....no one asked if I needed help and when I asked the mgr on duty if they carried Xxx she said "I don't know". How much more inept can these people be?! Clearly don't need or care about the job. They should film The Walking Dead here! read more

Called in advance for some clothing and sizes . Was told that the particular item and size was in stock. I mentioned that I am driving 140 blocks to board walk. Ask the man associate if he could put them aside. No worries we have plenty. Drove down non at all. Waste of time and gas. No one gave a damn. Try to patronize local businesses. The clothes here are amazing and they have a wide variety of items for all different styles. However, the customer service here was highly disappointing. My sisters and I were not greeted once by any of the sales associates. We were not offered help for a dressing room when we were carrying multiple items and overall the associates were extremely rude and unwelcoming. It felt like we were bothering them even though we were spending probably $700 between the three of us. It was ridiculous. Do better! read more

Really big store (it's like 3 store fronts) with a big men's and women's sections, but a tiny kid's section. Prices are pretty astronomical. There's a sales rack outside, but other than that, expect some $60 short sleeve shirts and I think I even saw flip flops that were $140. Here's a tip - go to the Quiet Storm on the boardwalk. Feels like such a scammy business. I LOVE local surf shops, but other ones in the area aren't like this one. The prices are exorbitant, and for no reason. They jack up the prices too, and it's not even well hidden. I could easily look up the products online for WAY cheaper..... from the actual vendors!!!! Like, I can find a hat for 16 bucks down the road at a good quality surf shop and here it's almost DOUBLE that? Not to mention their bogus "sales." 5 dollars off a size small shirt? Why only size small??? Only good thing I can say is that it gave me clothes to look up online to find way cheaper. Again, I love shops like these but this store feels like a museum. They do not stand behind the quality of any of the products they sell. I bought a bathing suit, went into the ocean one time and the orange color was stained from the water on the bikini top and bottom. I could not wash it out at all. I went back the next day to bring the suit back and tell them and they said they were not responsible for the stain and would not replace the bathing suit in a darker color or give me a refund. They told me that I had to call the manufacturer of the swim suit, meaning they do not stand behind any products that are not Quiet Storm specifically which is most of the store. I am truly appalled at the customer service and the complete lack of care or concern for products they sell. As an owner of a small business myself, my priority is the customer. It appears as though their priority is themselves. read more

It's a nice store. There isn't any POC representation (which can be nerve wrecking) on staff but everyone was very friendly. Patagonia, Billabong, other surf brands. Men, women, kids options. Found some cute shorts for 24.99 which I consider I great price considering the names they carry. Very thoughtful guy at the register went the extra mile to cut a hanging thread on my shorts. The store itself was very cute and clothes were nice, however there was an accident where a girl accidentally spilled her coffee on some clothes. The employees were initially nice, but I watched them charge her almost 400 dollars for the clothes that could easily be washed to remove the coffee and for some that definitely had no coffee on them. Now this poor girl is stuck with a ton of clothes that I doubt she will wear. After she left I heard the employees commenting on her appearance and being absolutely unprofessional and rude. If she or any of her party had heard it I'm sure they would have said something and refused to pay. The employees there need to be more professional and maybe shouldn't be 18 year olds or have coffee of their own that they could spill if they're going to act that way in this such situation. read more

I bought a skim board for my son this week and had an excellent young guy help us pick the board, assemble the board (stomp pads, wax), etc. Two days later, my son must have hit something in the ocean as the board cracked on the side. I brought the board back to the shop and left it for the owner to look at. The owner, Dale, called me later and told me the board couldn't be returned to the manufacturer as it clearly hit something, but he offered to repair the board for free. A day later Dale had not only fixed the board, but dropped it off at my beach house on his way to the Rehoboth store. My 11 year old was thrilled to have the board back and I was thrilled with the customer service. With a million surf shops in Delmarva, I'd think about that level of customer service...it sets Quiet Storm apart in my mind. Thanks Dale. read more

Coming from a beach town, I've got a little spot in my heart for local surf shops. This place is not just a hole in the wall. Maybe it was at one point but now it is a a superplex. The attraction to this place is that they feature their own shirts rather than carrying only the heavy hitters. Their shirts are pretty cheap and make great souvenirs. #161 Definitely more of a surf wear store than a surf gear store. There's an big wall of boardshorts from all the big guys like O'Neill, Billabong, Volcom and Quiksilver. However, they're all variations of the same styles. A small rack of rashguards mainly with their own Quiet Storm branding. And a much larger selection of t-shirts and tanks from mainly RVCA, Hurley and Volcom. Good selection of sunglasses, flip flops. Store is large enough they have a section for guys (downstairs) and gals (upstairs). If you're looking for brand name surf culture and clothing, this is a good place to start. If you're looking for solid surfing gear like wetsuits, booties, or *gasp* surf boards from staff that's passionate about surfing-- go to Malibu's on 8th. Prices are about 10% above online pricing. Boardshorts are 25% off marked full retail price. read more

They don't allow you to try on and they don't give returns or any type of store credits / exchanges, even if the hypoallergenic liner is on they still don't let you return. It's an over- priced boutique selling beach wear. What makes the review so low was on Father's Day we bought 2 shirts that the cashier forgot to remove the anti-theft tags. I discovered only after returning home. The store's response was "Oops so sorry" and go to their other store in Towson to remove the tags. Luckily I was able to find another merchant closer to home able to remove the tags. read more

So overpriced! And they don't allow you to return board shorts. I was told they are intimate apparel and not typically allowed to be returned (which is not true at any other store I have visited). I have four sons, and I was going to buy each of them a pair of board shorts, but I couldn't because I would not have been allowed to return them the next day. Ridiculous policy! read more

Quite Storms customer service practices are absolutely the worse I have ever encountered in the retail industry! Here's my story sad but true. I purchased an expensive pair of Costa sun glasses ($300). I asked the sale rep to clean the sun glasses he boxed them up when he finished and I walked out of the store. When I purchased them it was raining, therfore no need to wear them just yet. Within the next few minutes the rain stopped so I pulled them out of the box and found a surface scratch on one the lens. Within 20 minutes of my purchase, I returned to Quite Storm to exchange them for a new pair of undamaged sun glasses. They told me all sales were final and no exchanges were also not allowed. I didnt want my back money, I didn't want to exchange them, I just wanted to trade them in for pair of glasses that wernt damaged. Resoanble right? Not resonable according to Quite Storm because the manager and assistant manager did absolutely nothing to resolve this egregiou issue. To summerize, their policy basically states that it's okay to sell the customer damaged merchandise and to add insult to injury, don't provide the customer an option to resolve the problem. I'm writing this review to warn you of Quite Storm's unscrupulous customer service practices. If I could have given them a zero, I would have because they definitely deserve it. The last chapter of this story has not been written yet. I informed my credit card company (VISA) of what happened and are planning to dispute the charge. So this story may have a happy ending. read more

I am actually up in Ocean City, Maryland at a conference. Cool place if you ever get the chance to go. I was walking around on this huge boardwalk. I mean huge. I don't think I have every seen a boardwalk quite as long. Looks like Hurricane Sandy did some damage, but not to bad. I am normally not a big fan of surf shops, but I passed one called Quiet storm, and I decided to walk in. Most of the clothing, unfortunately, was for a slightly different audience, teens and young kids. I found the store incredibly well stocked. I mean they must have every kind of sandal and sunglasses in the world. They do carry a brand that my friend likes called Toes on the Nose. So I picked him up a shirt. They said I can return it in 30 days, but since I am not from around here, there is little chance of that. I really liked the whole atmosphere of the entire store. I will definitely be back to Ocean City and will stop by quiet storm. read more
