One of the first things you'll notice walking in is the man on a bull horn announcing specials like a carnival barker. This goes on all day. This store has many good quality brand shoes, but the prices didn't strike me as being super competitive with any other retailer. The rows stay fairly clear and the shelves are neat. Went in today and found a nice pair of shoes for a good price. There was an old man at the counter giving some girl a ration of shit because he wanted someone to measure his foot. He didn't care what his shoe size was, he wanted to know what his foot size was. They said they would be happy to do it and tried to explain that it wouldn't necessarily translate to a shoe size and they wouldn't be able to actually touch him when they measured him. he kept complaining that a shoe store ought to be able to tell him what size shoes he wears. Obviously, he hadn't been in a store for about 40 years. They did offer to help him in every way he asked, but he just didn't quite get it. It's pathetic that he left the girl in tears. That's not the way we conduct ourselves in society. I am deeply ashamed of him. read more

This was my first visit to Shoe Carnival and I was totally impressed. The customer service was excellent. I'd found a $5 coupon online (iphone). When I went to check out, I realized that the coupon was effective for two more days. The clerk was super friendly, and he looked around for another current coupon for me. They'd run out of $5 coupons, but they had a big coupon booklet with a Shoe Carnival coupon among maybe 75 other coupons in it. They gave me a the whole booklet, and let me use the $5 coupon too. They were also doing a holiday trivia contest while we were in the store. The winners one different coupons and such. I thought that was kind of cool. The store had recently been remodeled and expanded and it looked really great. There was a huge selection of women's shoes, and a sizable clearance area. Most evereything was buy one get one 1/2. We used the buy one get one 1/2 off, and our $5 coupon - our two shoes (flats & boots) came to $48. Excellent value! read more

I have been in Shoe Carnival quite a few times and remember making one purchase. It always seem like their "sale" is buy one, the second pair of lesser or equal value is half off. That's fine, but the prices aren't great to begin with. They do seem to have a large amount of variety in their inventory. I was more browsing today throughout the ladies' shoe section. There were name brand running shoes, gorgeous heels and some sweet Justin boots. I am not a boot girl and they were super cute (see pics). I do not like how the employees yell on the microphone the different gimmicks which seem to always be the same offer... "half off the second pair". I get the "carnival" theme, but the incessant yelling is annoying. I will continue to browse Shoe Carnival knowing I will likely not make a purchase. YEH!!! 10% military discount! read more

Went in this morning, July 26, 2021, to buy my daughter new athletic shoes. Haleigh checked us out at front registers. There was no one else in line in front of us and we watched her talk and giggle with another young girl before waiting on us. She was rude, short, and rolled her eyes at me three times while checking us out. I have been shopping at this store for years, and will no go elsewhere. I realize it is challenging to find employees right now but Haleigh needs to be fired or trained how to professional and polite to customers. When I was a kid, I always wanted to go to the circus. I never was able to go. I am still not sure if I have ever been. I would like to go in case anybody would like to take me. I have been to ye olde county fair a few times. I liken this fine establishment to...nothing like it. I do like the place, but really a carnival? C'mon, don't be too caught up in yourself. I did have fun once. They were playing some Michael Jackson song and I told a joke about tricycles while in the kids section...just kidding...maybe. But I mean, c'mon carnival? Having a large family I am a big fan of Shoe Carnival. I can put us all in quality name brand shoes for great prices. I've never had a bad experience with Shoe Carnival until today. A week and a half ago I purchased a pair of sneakers for my son and it so happens that there were 2 right shoes in the box. I didn't notice this until he was getting ready for school Monday morning so no biggie. I realized then that I did not have the receipt for the sneakers so I called the store I was told to bring the shoes and come see the manager. I live 90 miles away from the location and I felt at this point that it was just a mistake and no one was to blame. I show up this morning about 9:45 with the shoes and question the first person I see about the situation, he then takes the shoes from me,places them on the counter, and goes to the back to get the other shoe. He comes back and relays a message to someone else then says to me that next time we won't do it without a receipt. I replied ok thank you but thought wow I'm trying to solve a problem for both of us, I mean who expects to purchase 2 right shoes and I'm sure the 2 left shoes in the back probably feel awkward. At this time a guy comes from the rear of the store with the left shoe that I needed. He switched the shoe out and told me that the next time they aren't doing it without a receipt to which I replied thank you sir have a great day. Sir I'd like for you to know that I didn't put the 2 right shoes in the box, I was not the cashier that checked the shoes either. Come to think of it I'm not even the manufacturer that packaged and shipped the shoes to your store. Sir I am a customer that had a problem, I appreciate you fixing it I'm sure you will find it helpful as well, but you didn't have to approach me that way. I called the day before to see if it would be a problem and explained that I was driving 90 miles to get there. Had you just said you didn't want to do it the day before I could have done something different. You have my word that it won't happen again because my family will not be using your store in the future. read more

It is the holidays, I am certain Shoe Carnival has made a lot of money on gifts but turns out to be very difficult to do business with. They don't do exchanges for online orders. They suggest I go to the store to exchange, I live in California, the closest store is in Arizona or Utah. That is not feasible. Any company doing business online should have a better solution for customers across the nation. The operator was sympathetic, the supervisor was not. Basically they said so sorry your out of luck, too bad your family bought your Christmas gift from us. Guess you return it a get nothing. They are in the shoe business, any other online company knows shoes are difficult to buy online. Shoe Carnival makes it even harder. Terrible customer service. read more

Today, Sunday March 18th, 2018, my wife and I entered the store and could not help notice the manager (I assume) making the "Shoe Sale Announcement". It was a few minutes past 11 am; opening time. The announcer was wearing faded holey wrinkled jeans and looked totally sloppy and unprofessional. He fidgeted and danced throughout his speaker announcement as if he were high on meth. I told my wife that he had all the characteristics of being a junky (no eyebrows, fingernails crusty, deteriorating teeth, flaky bald head). During our check out, a young, well dressed, gentleman approached this manager/supervisor and said, "Excuse me Sir. Could you tell me where the restroom is in this facility?". Judging by how this humble courteous young man was holding himself, he was desperate. This disgraceful employee spun around and ridiculed the young man's approach to the question. He loudly and obnoxiously gave detailed directions to the restroom. He had the entire store's attention. The two girls running the registers hung their heads low, and I could tell that they wanted to disappear. He would not shut up and got louder and longer winded. I looked around and the couple beside us were in total awe, with their mouths open; in shock. We completed our check out and on our exit we passed close by the two men. I leaned in to the embarrassed young man and stated loudly, " Just turn and walk. It is in the back". The jerk of an employee was so in to his belittlement that he did not hear what I said. Frankly, I wish the man would have pissed on his shoes. This male is a disgrace to the male species and should be isolated from mankind. I will not EVER buy from this store again until I know this employee has been terminated. read more

Nice place. The aisles are easy to navigate and organized well. Women's on one side men's on the other and children's in the back. Has been buy one get one of equal or less half off every time I went. Handy to get a pair for yourself then head to the back and get the ever growing kiddo a pair at half off. Huge selection. I found a pair of New Balance actually made in America. Only had two styles in men's so read the tags. All the rest were foreign. They offer a Military discount. All the employees have been helpful. Only thing I don't like is this dude announcing a sale on the intercom like every two minutes, telling you how soon it will end. They have some cowboy boots. Not sure of quality on them as I don't wear them. I wasn't impressed with the out door boot selection. Bass Pro is better for that and offers a Military discount as well. So if you're looking for shoes I would definitely recommend them. read more
