I would not recommend this business based on my experience…read more I registered my children for a summer camp and paid in full. After multiple snow days, the school calendar was extended and they were still in school during that week, making attendance impossible. When I requested a refund, I was told that a large part of the tuition was non-refundable based on a policy that was never disclosed during checkout, on the payment page, or on the receipt. There was also no requirement to review or agree to any policies before completing the purchase. Even after providing screenshots showing this clearly, the response from the owner, Jaryn, was completely inflexible. There was no willingness to acknowledge the lack of disclosure or work toward a reasonable solution. It ultimately took escalation from MULTIPLE families to get the issue somewhat resolved. I say somewhat, as we were still not offered a full refund. I'm glad I know this now as flexibility and understanding are qualities you would hope to see in a business that works with children and families, and unfortunately that was not my experience here. Transparency at checkout and basic customer consideration shouldn't require escalation.

We ended up walking thru the store and finding all kinds of interesting beads. One daughter came to me to show me these magnetic beads and my other daughter at the same time brought me a magnetic bracelet and we all looked at each other intrigued with the possibilities. We asked Lydia the owner about the bracelet and offered for us to make it in the store. Lydia took both girls ages 8 & 9 years old thru the steps and the girls spent an hour and a half or a little more figuring out the beads they wanted to use, pattern and colors and actually beading the wire. Lydia was great. Very passionate and knowledgeable. Overall we were there over 2 hours between walking the store and picking and making our bracelets. Now fast forward and we just celebrated our daughter's 10th birthday and all 14 girls enjoyed themselves. They can't wait to go to school and show off their bracelets! Lydia and her assistant Lynn were great. Overall it went well and the parents were raving at the quality and beauty of the girls bracelets. We will be back to learn how to make other bracelet styles. Thanks Lydia and Lynn for making our daughter's party so special. Sincerely, Carolyn M Sicard

Beautiful glass artwork shines in the sun, delicate scarves flow in the wind…read more.. The Falmouth Art Market, set along the edge of Gus Canty Community Center's parking lot near Main Street, allows visitors to see well-crafted, handmade pieces up close and to speak one-on-one with talented local artists. Driving past to the farmers market at the Marine Park down a street near this lot, I saw the tents of this market and made a point to go back. When I arrived, I saw that I wanted to stop at each of the twenty or so vendors. I decided my strategy would be to start at one end and work my way down the line. (Very tactful, if I do say so myself.) At each tent, I saw the remarkable work of each vendor--telling them so, too--and spoke with each, hearing the passion and joy as he or she spoke. Each was incredibly proud of his or her work. Many said they would not put out their work if they did not truly love it. I saw everything from scarves, to handblown glass jewelry, to seaglass artwork, to woodwork, to paintings, to pottery. (There was even an artist at one end painting right there for all to look on while he did so!!) I purchased a colorful and one-of-a-kind glass pendant from one artist who depicted how she layered the different colors of glass as she blowed it by hand; a photo that looks like a painting of a beach scene with footprints in the sand toward a mist in the back of the scene from another artist; several unique and modern prints, one of a sailboat and of the Falmouth Road Race, from an artist from a local gallery; a framed glass piece with a sand dollar floating in the center of glass, surrounded by pebbles and seaglass pieces from another artist. Each piece available at this market is truly unique and unlike anything you will ever see. I applaud these artists, their talents and their hard work. It is evident that these artists know what they are doing in their crafts, and they are all so personable when you meet with them. I really enjoyed my time at this market!! This market runs every Thursday from noon to 6pm, from mid-June to early September. It is set up perfectly and conveniently with the farmers market, and you get a taste (literally with the farmers market) of different vendors from the area in all areas--from art to edibles. It is definitely something to check out if you are looking for homewares or a gift for a family member or friend. You will undoubtedly find something you will love, and you will enjoy speaking with and supporting local talent. Be sure to bring cash, as many vendors only accept that, though some may take credit cards. The Falmouth Art Market showcases outstanding work from local artists, each of whom is very friendly and kind and shows a true love for his or her craft. If you want to see passion and to support local talent, then visit this market!!
