Seiko US didn't answer my questions in a timely manner, so I purchased two Stainless oyster bracelet and net to drop off the bracelets to have the links added I expected to drop off, wait and return weeks later. Instead, I was helped immediately, and I could not be more pleased. He took the time to adjust to my oversized wrist, did a fantastic job and was so personable. I was told up front the work would exceed the watch's value -- honest advice I appreciated -- and went ahead anyway. A month of silence followed (my phone number had been entered wrong). The strap never arrived. When I finally picked the watch up, the crystal hadn't been replaced either. Instead someone had buffed the old plastic -- never requested, never discussed, nowhere on the work order -- and charged me about $35. They credited that $35 toward the crystal, so I drove back and left the watch again. Weeks later it returned untouched. Not a backlog: their in-house watchmaker had it in hand, did nothing, and sent it back with "replace crystal?" written across a work order that already said to replace the crystal. At pickup, the owner volunteered "yeah, I buffed it" from across the shop, then raised his voice when I responded. He told me I was repeating myself, argued the watch wasn't technically late, and corrected me on his own vacation length. I asked for a refund of the $35 for work I never authorized. He flatly refused -- he doesn't refund "services provided." The counter staff are genuinely kind. But four trips, seven weeks, an unauthorized charge, no apology, and no accommodation is enough. I can't recommend Keegan's for watch service, crystals, or straps.
