I bought a dress for my daughter's wedding, and I wanted it to fit perfectly. The dress was almost there but Tianna and Jeannette made it fit perfectly. They both are so experienced and have excellent eyes. When I tried my dress on after the adjustments, I thought it looked great. Jeannette came over and loosened the straps ever so slightly so the dress fell on my hips better and it made such a difference. I thought I had a good eye but And Sew On is the real deal. Bassy saved my wedding dress and my wedding day!…read more I had originally gone to another tailor recommended by the boutique where I purchased my strapless princess gown. Unfortunately, the work done at the other tailor's shop left my dress butchered. When I realized something was wrong with the original tailoring, it was two months before my wedding. I was distraught because I didn't think a new tailor would take me due to the limited time before my wedding and it being right before bridal and prom season. However, someone recommended I contact Bassy and I'm so grateful for their rec! Bassy listened to my concerns regarding my dress and what the other tailor had planned to do to it, advised me to take back my dress straight away, and booked me for an appointment ASAP. Within a week Bassy had me in her shop to assess all the damage that had been done by the previous tailor: (1) the hem was uneven by inches; (2) the train was lopsided; (3) the bustle was just a loop and a button that would be visible and unsecure; (4) the bodice was taken in so much that three people were needed to zip me up, which (5) left the zipper of my dress straining and puckering; (6) so much of the bust was trimmed away that my chest was exposed whenever I moved; and (7) they made a sash instead of the custom shawl I ordered for my ceremony. The worst part about the original tailoring work is that so much fabric was cut away there was barely any fabric left to correct the shoddy work. My dress was in really horrible shape and I knew I wouldn't be able to find or order another dress in time for my wedding. Despite the multiple problems with my dress, Bassy assured me she would find solutions for the above issues and she did! Bassy evened out the dress' hem by rehemming it and removing a portion of its petticoat to ensure it kissed the floor evenly. For the train, she adjusted it so it would be symmetrical and less oblong. It looked gorgeous trailing behind me as I walked down the aisle. The bodice was a tricky fix, but Bassy executed it perfectly! To expand the bodice, she needed extra fabric and found it within the seam allowance of the bodice's panels. She undid every panel, let out a little bit of fabric from each, and carefully stitched the bodice back up so that each panel was even and proportional. She was able to expand the bodice while also making it look like it hadn't been deconstructed. Bassy's work allowed me to properly breath while wearing my dress and my mother was able to zip me up by herself with no trouble! Bassy also created a custom shawl for me that looked like something Audrey Hepburn would wear! The attention to detail is so incredible! Bassy made the shawl so there was a slight curve in the front that elegantly hugs my collar bone. I love this shawl so much I plan to continue wearing it for special events. The most incredible fix Bassy made to my dress is the bust. I thought I'd have to wear my shawl the entire wedding. Instead, she came up with the incredible idea to build up the bust of my dress with additional fabric. The original bust had a cat eye neckline with draping across it. Bassy was able to expand the bust above my chest and next to my underarms to give me more coverage. She did this by building up fabric that mimics the original bustline's shape. The final result is beautiful! No one would ever know that the work Bassy did was not part of the dress' original design. I'm incredibly grateful for the amazing and transformative work Bassy did to my dress, her professionalism, her expert advice, and her direct and honest communication. She always set realistic expectations and provided alternative solutions that would not compromise the integrity of my dress or its overall style. Bassy is also just a lovely person to be around. I was really sad about the state my dress was left in by the previous tailor. With each visit to Bassy's (and she booked me for as many as needed to get my dress perfect), I felt better and more confident. Bassy saved my dress, my wedding, and my peace of mind. I worked with Michelle for my Wedding July 3rd and her Interns. The experience was spot on…read more Michelle assisted with my Rehearsal Dinner as well, setting up the gifts, flowers, making multiple pick ups from my suite and my parents rooms making sure everything made it's way to the restaurant while we were rehearsing. She took pictures while we enjoyed our dinner, and was the 2nd set of eyes I really needed in order to enjoy the day. I couldn't be in 2 places at once, Michelle was like a ninja - filling the gaps and helping out whenever I was stressing out. Day of the Wedding, I had a Wedding Party of 18 excluding two toddlers, was staying 4 miles from the venue, had a 1st look deadline, pictures, 5 hotel room blocks and a 7:30 am wake up for hair and makeup. The timeline felt impossible. The hotels lost the pick up schedules, I had forgotten to plan tips, pack envelops and pay all of my vendors. I felt 100% organized going into the Wedding and then started feeling overwhelmed with small tasks, organizing people and making our deadlines. Michelle advised me on tips, had the interns run to the grocery store for envelops, addressed them. handed them out, went to each hotel with the file and made sure the guests were aware of pick up, called my Father and the Groomsmen to make sure they were on time, sent the photographers to where they needed to be, kept me on schedule, fluffed my dress, got the lip stick, got legit anything i forgot or misplaced, made sure my husband received his gift, made sure valuables were where they needed to be and everyone was informed and ready to go. She drove my car to the venue while I was on the trolley, ensured the venue was set up correctly, managed the gifts, and completely packed up the gifts and bridal suite end of night and drove my car back. When i forgot to pay the photographer, she left the wedding, found the check in my room and came back to the Wedding and made sure it was taken care of. The best part, this is probably a 3rd of what the team did. My biggest request - save me from drama, make sure its a smooth operation and don't tell me anything :) She must have been 1 hell of a problem solver because the night felt drama free and simply perfect. I had no worries. The investment was 100% worth it - Michelle is organized, calm, and just easy to work with. I would absolutely request Michelle if you are considering Event Planners of Plymouth. Being in the wedding industry myself, I am extremely picky about who to entrust on our big day. Having a wealth of contacts to plan our own wedding, we undoubtedly knew Veronica was THE ONE for us! From our first interview with her she was on point, meticulous and had a back up plan for our "back up plan". She listened to our needs and wedding vision, kept me motivated and on time with my checklists and truly "got it". From day one I conveyed to her that we were looking for a "bulldog" day of coordinator/Superwoman that could handle a large wedding party (11 bridesmaids and 5 groomsmen), large family, out of towner guests and whatever drama might enfold. I wanted someone as detailed as I am, if not more but who truly cares and understands the entire process. We found all that in Veronica, and then some! Her attention to detail is above and beyond. She has her templates, checklists and timelines down to a science. The day of our wedding went off without a hitch (at least that I am aware of). That's what I call a GREAT day of coordinator. I was never concerned or bothered by things that came up because it was fixed before I even knew about it. She was there for us until the very end which was 1:00 AM and was so attentive and checked in on us often!! LOVE that! Adrain's level of patience and his ability to read a room & play what's "right" is uncanny. Transitions were seamless. The dance floor was full the entire night. Adrian didn't just pick songs & play them. He truly hosted the evening. Introductions were accurate & appropriate. Timing was spot on. He managed to keep everyone happy - ages ranging from 18 to 87. Adrian genuinely cares about his craft and it is evident in his work. So much so, that his work doesn't seem like "work". Highly recommend!
