Shira is AWESOME!!!! My husband gave me 3 sessions with Shira as a birthday present and I couldn't have been more pleased with my entire experience . . . even if it was a present that made me work! ha! :) My husband knows that I always put myself last, so he did this for me to help my daily 'sanity' and I am SO THANKFUL!!! Thanks to Shira, I have a BEAUTIFUL office that is organized, functional, pared down and so pretty . . . and has stayed that way! I went from tripping over piles of 'to dos' and a completely inefficient way of working (around my kids art work no less) to a serene, productive and very happy space that is all my own. My productivity has gone up and I smile every time I walk into my new space. Shira also helped me organize my daughter's tornado of a room and create a whole new 'creative space' for my girls so that their arts and crafts are organized, easily accessible, easy to clean up and best of all, out of mommy's office! And as a BONUS, Shira designed and help me organize a packing and shipping area for my business as well as an improved inventory management system so that I can now do triple the work in the same amount of time. Shira has an incredible eye for serene design, has taught me invaluable organization skills and overall, is a total joy to work with. I loved every minute of it (even the 'editing', which I continue to do). :) Thank you for bringing peace and serenity into our home, Shira! We all LOVE our new spaces!!! For all of you ladies out there saying "I can do this on my own" and "I'll get to it", do yourself a favor and just turn it all over to Shira. She'll make your space (and the experience) better than you could ever imagine!! read more

We hired Shira after months of struggling in our new home compounded with the added struggle of keeping the house organized and tidy after the birth of our 2nd child. I can echo most of what everyone has already said about Shira. She is fantastic. She is funny, calm, centered, focused, knowledgeable and capable. I wish she would come to my house once a week for the rest of my life, but the thing is that I don't really need her to, despite my deepest wish that she come and live with us. Shira works with you to identify your goals, accomplish them and then maintain them. Who could ask for a better return on this investment in yourself and your living space? Shira also helps us move beyond a specific project and integrate all of her practical and useful strategies so that we can feel successful and achieve our goals. We've been trying to get organized and meet 2 very different needs between us (my partner and myself). Now, we have a 3rd party who is part rock star, part fairy organizer and part couple's counselor. Shira knows her stuff and wants you to know it too. Areas that I had attempted to tackle in the past became much more manageable and Shira found hidden sources of motivation that has truly helped us transform our relationship to our things and to each other. I feel comfortable with Shira and my home feels more amazing than I ever thought possible. This was a true gift to work with her and be able to learn from her talented and sweet self. If you hire Shira, I am positive you won't regret it. read more

My husband and I both brought a lot of stuff to our marriage. All of it good, but maybe a little too much. We worked with Shira for five three-hour appointments and agree it was one our best-ever investments. To begin, Shira is lovely, super sweet and fun. It's a very intimate space to have someone come in and go through years worth of your stuff with you. Shira made that space very comfortable. We started with the kitchen, which we've easily maintained and enjoyed. For our second session we organized our bedroom and closets. Third session, a bar area/closet and our office, fourth session our guest bedroom and fifth session medicine, makeup/bathroom closet. I'm hoping Shira posts pics on her site (maybe without saying whose house :-D!) the results were amazing. The transformation has been incredible - with less clutter, I'm more relaxed, I can find things and realized I don't have to buy any more soaps or lotion. But those that I have, I can easily access. Yes, we had a lot to organize, admittedly! However, Shira made it fun, interesting and honestly, easy. Overwhelmingly, people (my husband BEFORE we met Shira) often say "can't you just clear out and do that on your own?" My response is - not the same way. Shira's awesome - and if you have ANY need for help or support or need someone to walk you through the process and transformation and laugh about it with you, call Shira. As a result, I have become more organized and maintained our clearer space and clearer mind. Thank you, Shira!!! read more

I suffer from quantity vs. quality syndrome. I've been dealing with this ailment for many years and a few months ago I decided to do finally something about it. I found Shira, slash, the cure, through not one, not two, but four recommendations and now that I've had three sessions with her, I know why! In walks this uber stylish mama with taste to die for and I feel like my life has been turned around! My office space is simplified, my husbands office has been simplified, my kitchen is simplified and...wait for it...my CLOSET is simplified!!!! I have a few more sessions in my future and I literally can't wait for more. Shira is redic. As in, amazing. She makes extremely subtle and simple suggestions that have changed my life and allowed me to feel like myself again, rather than feel constantly buried under so much stuff. My home is shifting in a way that makes me feel so beyond thrilled- it finally looks like a gorgeous home, rather than a landing pad for cheap stuff, and I literally have not spent one dime outside of my work with Shira. Oh wait, I bought a hook from Anthropologie to hang something on. Yeah, that's it. I've love/ Shira so unbelievably much that I'm actually hoping to hire her on a monthly basis to help support me to stay organized both at home and at work. She will be like my cute little pocket sized voice of reason meets accountability partner meets personal assistant I've always wanted meets personal stylist and home decorator. Um, yes please. Three words: A. MAZ. ING. read more

Shira is as good as it gets !!!! I am a relatively organized person. I have an average-slightly above average sense of style. But Shira has rocked and transformed my world - not only is my space sooooo much better but I feel like I am a new person. I have calmness and clarity in my home instead of clutter and confusion. Shira came over to help me organize my closet. It took about 10 minutes before I was addicted. She gives the perfect amount of understanding (what do you mean I can't keep this old dress from 1996 that I don't wear EVER) and tough love (you are right, I don't need this old dress from 1996 that I don't wear). My favorite thing about working with Shira is that she doesn't tell me all the things I need to go out and buy to be organized, she gives me lifestyle changes. She works with my style and my stuff to create a space that is serves me. I am no where near being a minimalist but I am taking one step closer every day. The amazing part is that Shira is the gift that keeps on giving. Her advice helps me long after she has left my house. I am the kind of person that trys on 100 outfits and lets them sit on my bed/desk/chair until I need to try on another 100 outfits. With some SMALL organization changes that made a BIG difference Shira has made the kind of person that hangs up all their clothes immediately. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone !! read more

My two-hour "Ready, Set...Baby" in-home consultation was the single most helpful information I've received during my pregnancy! I'm halfway through my second trimester and overwhelmed by the amount of information out there, and by trying to figure out what to do when, what the essentials are, and where to start. Plus, with my "pregnancy brain" I can't remember half the things I've thought to do so far. I've read lots of books and listened to advice from every child-bearing friend or relative I know. No one made me feel more calm, prepared, or organized to have a baby as Shira Gill. It's like Shira stepped in and did all the reading and listening for me, distilled the information in an easy to understand and manageable way, and gave me very tangible resources to use as my pregnancy progresses. Meeting with Shira is a breath of fresh air - she is warm, personable, funny and very knowledgeable. She made sure I was comfortable throughout the consultation, answered all my questions, and provided a ton of information from her own experience and the extensive research she has done. I was so sad when my time with her ended, and would definitely meet with her again in my third trimester for her expertise in organizing the baby's room! Simply Sorted is simply fantastic, Shira is simply wonderful, and the "Ready, Set...Baby!" package is simply the perfect gift for any new mom-to-be! read more

Shira changed my life! Now, that may sound like an overstatement but she actually helped me modify the natural and engrained hoarder/hider tendencies that I've had my whole life. She helped me tackle our dining room (which also serves as our entryway by default), kitchen, and my closet. Every space she influenced actually brings a smile to my face each time I see it now. Not only did she help me get rid of the unnecessary things that were bogging me down, but she also implemented organizational systems that I'm actually sticking to months later. I want to put things away now because they have a place. It's deeply satisfying! I've always loved fashion and putting together different looks but I had let my closet get out of control and filled it with impulse buys. Shira's philosophy is so simple yet so good and I find myself thinking about her parameters before buying anything new. It's actually made getting dressed so much easier and fun - no more opening my bulging closet and feeling as though I have nothing to wear! I would hire Shira again in a second for organization, styling, life coaching, and just to hang out if that weren't super weird and creepy to pay for a friend - ha! read more

I booked Shira of Simply Sorted while she was still in Los Angeles. Since she relocated to Northern California, there have been many occasions when I felt anxiety at the mere thought of organizing the smallest space. I thought about emailing pictures of the drawer, closet, cabinet, or room to get her advice. But instead I just asked myself, "What would Organizer Shira do?" and immediately I was inspired. Simply put, I have gained a new perspective on my lifestyle since working with Shira. I mean, the results are great- feeling lighter, more organized and clutter-free. Now, I am also more conscious of what I have and really appreciate having just enough-not more. And that has translated into many areas of my life. For me, It's not just about letting go of the past through shedding old possessions, but really embracing and finding contentment in what I have. Having less and living simply is really the way to go. It is entirely liberating to give possessions away, and I feel better knowing that by consuming less, I am helping to create less waste. And on top of all that, Shira makes the process fun and is super efficient. I'm going to go clean out my desk now. read more

Shira is a saint! I asked her to come and help my husband and I make our office space actually work. It's technically our 3rd bedroom, but we had decided to make it the office. With moving in, wedding planning, and small business admin all going on throughout the past year plus, all we did was throw papers onto the floor into various piles. Shira came in, asked me about my goals, what we wanted from our room, and where her skills would best be used. By the end of the day, we had a room that was organized, streamlined, clean, and inviting. We created a major to-do list that I still haven't gotten completely through, but guides my everyday schedule. We also reconfigured the room so that there was flow: desk, computer accesories, file cabinet (with it's own organization), and even a comprehensive book shelf. If Shira hadn't come along with her vision of space and function, my husband and I would still be stuck throwing things into the room and then closing the door and walking away. Now, you can find either one of us sorting and filing our mail, doing computer work(not in the bedroom!), and even just hanging out on the floor with our pup! Thanks Shira! read more

I attended a recent 3-month Goal Setting Workshop led by Shira and I am shocked by how much it's changed my life and influenced my thinking since starting it three months ago. I expected to have the opportunity to get specific about my goals for the new year and gain some accountability in a group setting, and those expectations were certainly met....and went *so* much further. By sharing our goals and experiences in the group I have learned an enormous amount --about my own techniques and feelings about productivity-- and have gained so many new insights about structure, motivation, and workflow from Shira and the group. And what a group it is! A truly communicative and supportive group of powerful women! Shira is a masterful guide and facilitator, and her exercises and questions bring out the best nuggets of wisdom and honesty amongst us. I have been pursuing the goals I outlined in January with ease and determination, and am thirsty for more knowledge about the mindfulness and productivity work we talk about it in our sessions. It's changed my daily output, and my outlook on life. I could not recommend more highly! read more

I would highly recommend the "Ready, Set . . . Baby!" package at simply sorted baby! I just finished my first trimester and was starting to research baby products, put together a registry, and plan all that I would need to learn and do in the months ahead. The more books I got, and the more websites I visited, the more overwhelmed I became. I felt so much better after my two-hour consultation with professional organizer, Shira Gill. Shira made all of the stressful and intimidating decisions seem simple and helped personalize "to do" and "to buy" lists and other plans for before and after labor. Every pregnant woman has plenty of friends and family members willing to dole out free advice, but to have a one-on-one session with someone who approaches the topics not only from personal experience but also from extensive research and from the perspective of a professional organizer is priceless. This service would make a great congratulatory or shower gift for any pregnant woman. My only advice is to do it relatively early in the pregnancy when it can save the most stress and time. read more

We live in a really small house and love the stuff we've accumulated over the years but it got to be a big problem and we realized we needed help making decisions and orchestrating the de-cluttering process. We were expecting our second child and had no idea how we could squeeze another human being in the house. We had two wasted rooms downstairs that we wanted to use for music recording and an art studio. Enter Shira! She knew exactly how to help us make tough decisions about saving space in multiple rooms in the house through de-cluttering and then plans of organization for my closet, some areas in the kitchen, the music and art studios, the living room and even how to best set up the kids room to accommodate the new baby. Shira helped us make the tough decisions and had us focus on our goal of more space which was extremely motivating. Now that we've been through the process with her, we have since become self-purgers and have continued to de-clutter with her awesome techniques. She is like the friend whose opinion you could really use. We highly recommend her. read more

Shira is amazing, and her work has changed our lives! I felt like we were fairly organized before we had kids, but things spiraled out of control in the last few years. Shira has brought us back into order, and our lives are less chaotic for it. (My husband is a bit of a hoarder, so having a third party in the middle was invaluable!) Shira looks at how you live in your space, then helps analyse how to use the space efficiently and easy ways to maintain an orderly existence. We did most of the house - we didn't get through paring everything down in the time we had (we did three, 3-hour sessions), but she gave me ideas for the spaces we weren't able to tackle together. We're going to do the garage soon, but that's a whole separate beast. The feel of having my family of four in a space that is organized and easy to maintain is amazing. She has an amazing design eye. We all seem more serene, and our home looks great. I used to think that I could do this type of thing on my own but having a third-party guide us (and keep us on track) has been terrific. read more

Shira is absolutely amazing! She has come to my house twice-so far-to help me organize and declutter my closets and garage. She was so helpful. These were not small tasks-I knew it had to be done but couldn't face it on my own which is why I contacted Shira after a friend told me how wonderful she was. We managed to do my coat closet, dressers and clothes closet in one session which resulted in many, many bags of donations and closets that I now show off to my friends when they come over! We also were able to clean out my really messy garage in another half day session. My garage, which among other things, had moving boxes that hadn't been unpacked since a cross country move more than 11 years ago is now whittled down to ten plastic tubs worth of stuff. She is truly worth every penny and has transformed my home. Shira has also transformed my buying habits. I now think twice about what I purchase because I don't want to clutter up all of the work that Shira and I have accomplished! read more

I had been looking for an excuse to have Shira come to my apartment for years - finally I had the perfect reason. My husband and I are expecting our first child in late January. Living in a one bedroom (rent-controlled) apartment in San Francisco I knew we needed help with space. I was concerned that we wouldn't have enough space for the three of us, especially after looking at a few different baby registry "must haves". I thought we needed to move just so we could have room for all the baby stuff! Luckily Shira came in just in time and reassured me that we don't need every single baby item and we already have plenty of space for another roommate. Not only was Shira able to map out where we should put our make-shift nursery, but she also had so much baby-101-knowledge. For this first time mama, that kind of information is invaluable! I feel so much better and excited to welcome our little love knowing that we will be prepared, all thanks to Shira. Let the nesting begin! read more

I couldn't even walk into my master closet because I had stuffed it full from floor to ceiling. My kitchen was not so bad, but I had numerous utensils and appliances that I never used or needed. Also, my cabinets were overflowing and I had food in the pantry I didn't even know I had because it was hidden behind other items. Shira helped me tremendously! She worked with me to sort, categorize, organize and get rid of things I didn't need. My previously messy, in-disarray kitchen and closet now look fabulous. Shira is thorough, pleasant and efficient. Not only does she help you get your act together, she sets up a system with you that allows you to (importantly) maintain your now-organized rooms and systems over time. Shira also gives you a written list of follow-up items to complete, which was very helpful to me. Hire Shira! You will be so appreciative of your newly organized life. read more

Shira is an absolute dream. I'd been wanting to hire an organizer for years but was looking for someone who could provide beautiful as well as practical organizing solutions. When I saw pictures of Shira's home, I know I'd found the right person and Shira didn't disappoint. She helped me take my home to the next level and now I smile when I open cabinet doors instead of cringing. Shira is super efficient and was able to knock out a lot in a short period of time. She makes what could be a tedious process fun. She also has great instinct and helped me select a few small changes to make in design that had a big impact on the rooms she touched. I would highly recommend Shira to anyone who knows they want their home a certain way but can't quite figure out how to get there on their own. The next time I am feeling overwhelmed by my space, I will definitely be calling Shira! read more

New home, home office, toddler room, AND new baby!! I was in a world of hurt. So much to do, and being a working mama that knows what she likes, I was in desperate need of someone who could not only organize my home, but organize my head too!! It was so great to be able to work with someone with a similar sensibility, who totally listened to my needs and helped me discover my inner chicness. Shira put my life in order and made it beautiful at the same time. Everything from just the right baskets in the nursery, an organized pantry that makes packing lunches a breeze to simple little decor touches around the home that just make us all a little happier when we walk in the room. Shira is so resourceful and gave me solutions that I would never thought of on my own. Thank you times a million!! read more

I was never quite able to figure out a healthy balance between organization and style until I started working with Shira Gill. She has given me the tools for systematizing everything from my closet to my finances, and has done so with intelligence, grace and humor. Shira has a designer's eye, a brilliant use of space, and an uncanny ability to get those around her motivated. It's about lifestyle, and I can truthfully state that my life has greatly improved now that I have these systems in place - having a handle on these things has been a freeing experience, and has positively made me feel more grounded. I would recommend her without hesitation, and can guarantee that anyone who works with her will want her systems, flair and all-around loveliness to rub off on you! read more
