Not to be dramatic but Miss Clutter is life changing! I needed help with my living space because it was cluttered with toys and books and no matter how hard we tried we couldn't keep it organized (we have a 3 and 5 year old) We tried to organize ourselves but it didn't work so I was curious when I discovered Miss Clutter because in my mind I was thinking "what can they do differently" And they exceeded my expectations and it's like they are magic! The first step was Danielle came to our home for the initial assessment which was helpful and so worth the additional cost because she helped us brainstorm so we could get ready for they came for the actual declutter and organization. She just has the eye for where things can go and how to reuse what you have to make it work. She says she's not an interior designer but she does appreciate "eye candy" so to me that's all I want. After meeting with her I knew we wanted to use her and her company to help! Also side note- Danielle is just the sweetest person and when I met her I just felt like she was an old friend that I hadn't seen in a long time, you'll love her! The second step was she gave us a wishlist and we ordered things so it would be here and ready! Danielle was awesome with giving different suggestions for bins ect so that it would match the aesthetic needs I was looking for. She also brought things from the container store on the actual day of the decluttering. The third step was the actual process of cluttering and organizing ! We had Fernanda and Klara come and they were nothing short of spectacular! They were so friendly and kind and loved my kids and dog! They are both hard workers and I know we'll use miss clutter again in the future and I want both of them to come to my home! They were efficient and so organized and had great ideas for items I didn't quite have places for. After the whole process was completed my kids have been able to put things back where they are supposed to go and my living room is not a mess anymore and it honestly feels like a miracle! I can't thank Miss clutter and the whole team enough! UPDATE: Literally as I posted this review, I got a call from Danielle. She offered me a discount for the disappointment or her time and expertise for the systems I need in place. I am floored by her customer service and true desire to deliver for her clients. I stand by my experience, but stand by even more by Danielle's desire to deliver to her clients. *** Miss Clutter sends hard-working people to your home to organize things. I was a bit disappointed by the experience, because what I truly needed were systems put in place better than what I already had in place. The lead organizer did suggest a wonderful fix for an issue I had, so I appreciated and was grateful for her thoughts on the kids' art corner. Really grateful fix with furniture I already had in the home. Wonderful win! But I didn't get any other suggestions or any issue-spotting from the lead, nor suggestions on how to improve flow in the home. I suppose my own experience with other declutter businesses--like House of Love with Colleen Collins--outshined this one because I am a tired mom who needs someone to lend their mental energy to figure things out for me: how to better organize the kids' clothes, how to create flow for my own clothes and how to create a more peaceful office. Instead, I found myself directing the helpers on what I wanted because they did not have much to add in terms of solutions or issue-spotting. Even in terms of decluttering, when I asked whether I should get rid of a particular item, the answer was "It is up to you." I know it is up to me, but o need your help. That is why I'm spending thousands of dollars on help: because I am tired and need your advice and help to declutter, and see if I have issues in my home. Danielle said she could see several issues in my home based on the videos I sent her, but I didn't really get any advice on those issues. I suppose that is why it is really helpful having Danielle's input, but she never made it. She said she was going to stop by, but was unable to. I texted her afterwards, and she sent me some entryway products, but that was the extent of her input. Another pain point was when I needed to declutter the kid bookshelf. The lead suggested I look through it and see what I wanted to get rid of. I had to ask her to remove all the books so that I could go through them one by one, then have them put them back. I know it was the end of the day, but we had at least 30 minutes and I was surprised that I had to request them to remove the items. It's hard to declutter a bookshelf when the books are stacked on the shelf. There were other examples of how I had to ask them to remove all the items so I can make decluttering choices. They did not ask whether I had other kid books/clothes/items in any part of the house, so there might have been items that missed review. As long as you come into the situation knowing that it might just be people organizing, you'll have a great experience. They make everything look beautiful and clean. I'm a mom of two kids, so the places that only saw things folded and put back will sadly last for a couple of weeks only, but if that is your aim, then you've found the right business. I hate to write a review like this, because the three people worked SO HARD and were so kind. But I felt like I was sold on one product and given another for the same expensive price tag. read more

It will start in the garage and ascend to the living room. I've always had floor-to-ceiling industrial shelving units lining the perimeter of the garage and they stored a tremendous amount of stuff. But now, we needed to remove 3 shelving units (15 shelves) to make room for the elevator, which meant a drastic reduction in what we owned. Miss Clutter Organizing "earned" that distinction on May 13, and their poor work is still influencing me as I write this on moving day, May 18. My husband and I hired the company to organize a single "clothing room" before our move. The instructions were clear: pull every garment from drawers and closets, sort by type, and leave neat piles ready for boxing. Danielle, the owner, quoted just under a thousand dollars for two organizers--Nora and Anne-Marie--to work for six hours. I accepted the price because I thought their expertise would give us peace of mind during an already hectic week. And I had to work in the living room, typing restlessly. From 9:00 to 10:40 a.m., the organizers hung shirts, refolded jeans, and chatted about a friend named Ellie. Then, they wasted nearly twenty minutes moving their car instead of using the free guest spaces. Lunch was at noon, a forty-minute break that turned out to be billable time. By early afternoon, I noticed an unopened closet (which is THE ONLY CLOSET in the room) in the eight-by-ten room. "Oh, we didn't know there was more!" they said, claiming their boss had told them simply to "put clothes in boxes." Boxes, mind you, that weren't even on-site yet. Why did they not confirm this again? No. Why did they not listen to my instructions in the first place? My husband even made a joke by saying "my wife (me) is the boss and there are her clothes. So follow what she says." "Every garment from the drawers and closets has to be out to categorize." I still do not know what made them misunderstand this one clear sentence. Their lack of communication and disqualification made me doubt their business's identity. When professionals encounter confusion, they pause, clarify, and adjust. Instead, I received courteous nods and the refrain "Now I understand," even as evidence mounted that they didn't grasp the task at hand. Halfway through the session, I abandoned the clothing project (THE PRIMARY REASON I HIRED THEM) altogether and redirected them to sorting stationery and chargers--tasks simple enough to salvage whatever time was left. The entire experience lingers to create unsettling introspection: Was my English suddenly failing me? (Unlikely, considering I teach in English every day.) Despite their friendly demeanor, their sluggishness and lack of initiative made me feel like I was overseeing hobbyists rather than professionals. At their rates, I expected a strategic plan and one output--Clothes Organization; instead, I felt as if I were supervising hobbyists. Because large sections of the job were left unfinished, I spent my moving day redoing work I had already paid for. Furthermore, the quote never mentioned that lunch breaks were billable. Nor was it clear that overtime depended on the organizers' personal schedules ("I have to pick up my kids"). WHY DOES THIS MATTER? This hidden fee gives significant advantages to their service over others when customers shop around to compare the service. So here I am, on the very morning when the movers are carrying boxes out the door, redoing work I thought I had paid US$1000 for professionals to complete. For nearly a thousand dollars, I received an unfinished clothing sort, added stress, and the lesson that "professional organizer" can sometimes mean "extra pair of hands that I have to direct." If I am desperate for this service to save time and make a living, I will challenge the cost vigorously. Ergo, If you're willing to supervise every minute and provide detailed instructions repeatedly, Miss Clutter might suffice. However, if you expect a team to assess a space, develop a strategy, and leave it genuinely organized, I suggest looking elsewhere. An African woven basket turned out to be perfect for bathroom towels, my deceased dogs food bowls, which I could not bear to throw away, were re-purposed as planters, and on and on. -The entire team is, first and foremost, KIND. I have a really insane amount of cookbooks and art books, and no one once pressured me to get rid of these things that I cherished. We DID get rid of things that I owned an insane amount of (Would you believe I owned 48 canvas tote bags?? NOT NECESSARY). -Miss clutter is clever! My biggest clothing category is jeans, and I even after ditching a few pairs, they still would not fit in my dresser. Danielle had a clever idea to give them their own hanging bar in my closet--getting dressed is so much easier now! -I probably saw the biggest difference when I got home from a trip. I travel a lot, and usually when I get back my suitcase sits in the middle of the living room for daaaaaays getting grosser and grosser as I pull individual items out of it as I need them. For anyone trying to start or maintain their own small business, take a lesson from Danielle of Miss Clutter. Below is my original, 3-star review; please read after this initial review for why I changed it to five stars: (The 3-star review): This was a hard rating to give and I waited half a day to see if Danielle (owner) would reach out but apparently she won't. Would have loved to give the crew Danielle runs 5 stars. I just moved from across country. I contacted Danielle to have her company unpack me, help me give things away and pare everything down, and organize me. In trying to set the initial start date, she didn't get my name right after talking with me for days. Then she clearly didn't remember my situation because I had asked for at least two days to start, yet after a couple of exchanges, she nonetheless declared that it couldn't be done in a day. Right; that's what I told you. She did apologize, but I have to say her customer service skills had started to make me uncomfortable. Remember: she requires a minimum 5 hours at $125/hr. That's an investment for most of us. She could at a MINIMUM take the time to remember the person she's talking to and what has been discussed. The team was fantastic. They would get 5 stars on their own. Personable, enthusiastic, and talented. Super sweet with my health problems, taking the time to sit with me to sort stuff. Took carload after carload to Goodwill. Loved them. Didn't meet Danielle until the third day--over $2000 in to this process. Very nice in person. I'll give her that. Gave each member of the team label makers; gave Danielle one for a new team member she was hiring. You're welcome. They couldn't help me for over a week, and we made an appointment for this Friday, two weeks after they'd been here last. In the interim, my best friend came to visit. I just started a new job so she had all day here alone, for a week, at my apartment. She's a certified organizer as well, though it isn't her full-time job. She took it upon herself to build on what Danielle's team had done, and finished organizing me. I wrote the following to Danielle today canceling Friday's appointment; if anyone thinks it was rude or harsh please let me know. I thought it was fittingly complimentary and very nice: Hi! Hope you're family is enjoying this labor weekend! My best friend came to visit and she's devoted the week I've been at work to completing your vision (she got a certification as an organizer during lockdown, although she doesn't do it professionally ). I'll send you pics, but between you and her, I have a HOME. That said, I should cancel this Friday, as I set for now, but I'd love to keep you as a contact going forward; I suspect I will have trouble keeping this up. It's gorgeous but it doesn't come naturally to me Please thank the gang for me. So very grateful. Be well. ----- Did Danielle write a similarly nice response? Thank me for my business? Say she'd love to help any time? Thank me for spending over $5000 with her business? Nope. She sent an calendar email canceling Friday. (See pic below) That's all, folks. I'm appalled, actually, though looking back at our first communications I should have been prepared. I try to consider that people might have things going on elsewhere, but a) then don't respond at all until you can be civil and b) don't just send what you see below without any words at all if you're in the customer service industry, EVER. I had meant what I had written--had she been a professional in her response. I feel badly for her crew; they'd be better off if they worked solo than under her leadership, because I cannot recommend any of them to anyone if she's running the show. And I will never use them again. Moreover, I deeply regret not hiring the other organizer I had met with before hiring Danielle's company. I chose an earlier start date over professionalism and I regret it. -------- Back to now. A less confident, less dedicated professional (and we've all dealt with them) might ignore a middling review, or place some platitude after it so those reading it will think they care. Danielle really DOES care. She asked to talk with me on the phone. That's gutsy. I imagine she was nervous. I would be. But she was warm, and apologetic, but most impressively, she asked for more information so that she could use my situation as a learning experience for her. She even said I shouldn't change my review if I felt strongly about it. She's an impressive and capable young woman and innately good at business. Saving an account--and she's got my account as long as she wants it--takes finesse, bravery, and a mind open to criticism. I left the first review for several reasons, none of which is spiteful. I want to share what I'd been through but more importantly, I wanted potential clients to see that Danielle is willing to tackle a sticky situation and cares about her clients.
