Amazing service and ambiance. They are know for fish and chips and I absolutely agree. Lot of local beers. Indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the water! Seems to kind of a romantic place since I saw many couples. Definitely family friendly!

The food and service were great!! Our dinners came fast and were delicious!! And our server, Captain Beard, couldn't have been more friendly!! These Michigan, USA citizens loved our experience and would recommend this establishment to anyone!!

Amazing food and even better service. I took the family the location on Hwy 6 because they have a great option for non fish lover (chicken shawarma bowl) but went to they Bay location as they are out of fish. Very friendly welcome at their location and I mentioned I went to the other location that was out of fish. Immediately we were seated and the guy that seated us got on the phone to re supply the other location. Not only that he zipped down to their other location to get me a chicken bowl ?!? Crazy good service. Definitely a 5 star meal and service! Will definitely recommend to others and come back when we return to Tobermory. Thank you! All servers are extremely friendly and great ambiance!

We came here on a long weekend around lunch time and waited about 30 minutes for a table. They only had patio dining and didn't do take out. We ordered the all you can eat fish for $18.95 per person. We really enjoyed the fish. It was fresh and buttery. The first plate came with about 4 pieces of fish. We ordered an additional 2 pieces each afterwards. We though we ate our money worth The fries were mediocre. They don't have lemon. It came with pre-packaged tartare sauce, vinegar and ketchup. The service was pretty good. All the staff were friendly and energetic.

    - one of the servers was rude - fish and chips were good, crispy and yummy with right amount of saltiness - outside patio is nice too!

We came here as part of bus tour group. Our organizers had asked us to choose between the Fish or Chicken with Fries options for our lunch (along with a pop). Both my wife and I opted for the Fish. Our whole party was seated on the patio which had a pleasant ambience with a nice view of the lake. The service was fast and most of the servers were pleasant enough. There were two servers dressed like pirates who were particularly nice and friendly. Our meals came with little packages of Tarter Sauce and Rancher's Choice Vinaigrette. Although there is salt, pepper, vinegar, and ketchup if you need them, I wish they also had lemon to go with the fried fish. I found the single portions of Fried Fish pretty decent sized and filling. The fish was fried to perfection and the insides were light, flakey, and moist. The fries were pretty good too. If there is one thing that this place needs to improve on, it is the state of their washrooms. There aren't enough toilet stalls and the few they have are poorly maintained. If you're ever in Tobermory you have to check out this place! We finished a boat tour and decided to grab some lunch from a local spot. We walked over to this place and it was jam packed with people waiting for a table and take out. We waited only 30 minutes for a table but definitely worth it. We sat down and our server quickly came over and introduced himself. He was super friendly and went over the menu with us. He explained that whitefish was their specialty. I'll admit .. I was hesitant at first because I've never tried it so we decided to order one of the whitefish with shrimp and a halibut fish and chips. The whitefish was the best thing I have ever eaten in terms of fish and chips I was blown away by it. It was flavourful and literally melted in your mouth. I wish we just got the whitefish cause it was that good. The fries that came with our mains weren't good at all.. they lost a star for that. I guess their fish makes up for it? But seriously if they got better fries this place would be 10 stars. Service was 10/10 highly recommended If you're ever in a rush - make sure you try take out form here!

The fish was fried very well, crunchy to the bread and hot and moist from the inside. The sauce added a good flavor to finish. However the fries was much inferior, along with pricey beverage and an unsatisfying service. If you happened to be around, try to get a take out and eat near the docks instead. There is likely no point for an all you can eat fish and chips, although only 1$ extra, you will likely wait for a long while for a second batch, and you are definitely full after the first round anyway.

2 slices of haddock + fries, 1 slice of white fish + poutine

Service was good, but the price was a bit $$ for the quality of food... I would say the haddock isn't even at the level of Jane's breaded haddock, as it was quite hard (has some fish skin included as well). White fish was pretty flakey, as mentioned, but didn't have much flavor itself. The tartar sauce was pre-packaged as mentioned and also prices seemed to have increased by quite a bit. Other reviews from a few months ago said AYCE was $21.95 but now it's $24.95. Also felt a bit uncomfortable that the pre-programmed tip options started from 18%+ for a place that's already overpriced to begin with

Some friends and I came on a weekday and we got a table right away. The first thing I noticed was the decor, specifically a skeleton with a missing upper half. It was... something. Otherwise the food was okay, I got the AYCE fish and chips, which was plentiful but very average. The price was a bit steep ($21.95), though I found it to be the best deal on the menu.

Ok let's start with the positive amazing location :) now the food let's be honest we all couldn't finish our meals.. we had the fish and chips, hubby got fried shrimp and my daughter got the fried chicken! The fish was super duper oily and the fish inside was not flaky or good the fried chicken my oh my had cartilage inside we thought it was more like chicken strips but no! I asked for a lemon wedge to put on my fish and the waitress says we don't have any fruits here our stomachs didn't feel well the rest of the evening!

Fried Fish and Shrimp over Fries 10/10

Worth the wait and the food at Shipwreck Lee's made our day trip to Bruce Peninsula. Pros: - My hubby and I had the Fried Shrimp and Fish, Fried White Fish (1pc), and side of Coleslaw, and it was some of the best Fish and Chips I've ever had. The huge portions of fish were perfectly fried, and the inside was super flavorful, flakey, moist, and light. - I also enjoyed the Coleslaw, which was a vinegar versus mayo version. - Vivacious service, there are a couple of waiters who are fun and spastic

Very casual, ran out of water and lemonade bottles so they pour cups out of big jugs, but price is the same. Fish and chips were ok.

Excellent fish! So light and flaky, not greasy. Get the fresh, not all you can eat. Ribs and chicken were amazing too!

The fish was fresh, the breading was tasty and the homemade tartar sauce was awesome. The chips were amazing as well. If this was down the road from my home, I'm sure I'd be there every week. Just a note, it is not hard miss. If headed towards Tobermory, it will be on your right shortly before you get to any of the entrances to Bruce Peninsula National Park. If headed from town, you will pass both the Cypress Lake entrances and the one just south of there (don't remember the name). Look for the Lonewolf Drive Thru sign Fish is served from around 11:30 with the last order taken at 7:30.

It took 30 minutes for them to call our number. Granted, they were pretty busy... But 30 minutes for 2 orders of fries is a little crazy. My fries were good (although not 30 minutes good) but could have been a little warmer. The person I was with said their poutine was good. I don't eat meat so this review is based solely on the fries and service. I'd still recommend checking it out for yourself! OH and the address here on Yelp didn't take us to the chip wagon. We had to continue driving until we saw it on the left hand side (leaving tobermory) which was about 7km.

Our server, however, was extremely friendly and the reggae music playing overhead was enjoyable and not obtrusive. The food and check did take a while to come out although the restaurant was admittedly full when we came. Prices: You're looking at about $9 pints and $21-25 entrees, it's not cheap but it's also about par for the course in the area. Food: We got the lamb burger and messy fish sandwich which were both very good. The lamb burger had a decent sized patty and wasn't gamey at all. It had a good amount of tatziki and pickle onions to balance out the flavors. They do also have great burger buns that was pillowy while still having a robust golden crust that doesn't get soggy 4.5/5 The fish sandwich had a breadcrumb breading that was very crispy and served with some fresh shredded greens to lighten up an otherwise heavier sandwich. I would recommend asking for a side of tartar sauce though to give it a little more acid/tang. 4/5 We got Cajun fries and poutine fries as our sides and they are the soggier once-fried kind although they had spot-on flavors which made them still enjoyable. 4/5 We would also strongly recommend trying the blonde and amber ales which were excellent summer beers with a light body and subtle complexity. 4/5 Overall, I would say this place is a solid choice. The food has great flavor, good quality, and the atmosphere is enjoyable. The prices are expectedly high for a tourist area but not so bad that we wouldn't come back again.

I've been a long-time visitor to Tobermory and a frequent guest at the Tobermory Brewing Company…read moreover the years. I've always enjoyed the patio -- beautiful views, great food, excellent beer. But this week's experience was so frustrating and absurd that I feel compelled to leave this review. On a cold, stormy evening, my brother, a friend, and I decided to eat inside the restaurant for the first time. We were told there was a 30-minute wait for an indoor table, which was understandable. Since the patio was mostly empty (I counted 21 available seats just on the front porch), we asked the host if we could grab a few drinks outside while we waited. Here's where things went downhill -- fast. We were told we couldn't sit outside to have drinks while waiting for our indoor table -- because, according to the host, if we sat outside, we'd have to commit to eating there. Even though it was stormy. Even though only a few patio tables were taken. Even though we were just trying to spend money at the bar while we waited. When we asked what he expected us to do during the wait, he suggested we sit in our car. Sit. In. Our. Car. Instead of ordering drinks and giving the business our money. Still baffled, we walked over to the indoor bar and tried to order a flight of beer. There was only one stool free, so we stood at the bar and asked the bartender if we could order. He said yes -- then ignored us for 5-10 minutes while cleaning glasses. When we politely followed up, he suddenly changed course and said he couldn't serve us unless we were seated. We were being denied service both standing inside and sitting outside. Truly the epitome of lose-lose. At that point, my friend took the only available stool at the bar and asked, "Now can I be served?" That's when the manager finally stepped in -- not to apologize, not to offer a solution, but to tell us my friend was "making a scene." She said she didn't want a disturbance in front of other guests (who were already watching this ridiculous display) and would now allow us to sit outside with our beers while we waited. So after all that -- the refusal to let us sit on the empty patio, the rejection of service at the bar while standing, and being told to wait in our car -- we ended up exactly where we started: outside with a beer. Except now, the experience was soured beyond repair. This place is clearly being run by young, inexperienced staff following rigid, illogical policies with no common sense or customer care. I've supported this business many times over the years, but after this debacle, it's hard to justify going back. Hospitality should be about making people feel welcome -- not chasing them off with red tape and eye rolls. Do better.
