On the menu, they offered one piece fish and chips combo, or fish and shrimp combo, or chicken and back ribs at less than $25. They also offered all you can eat fish and chips at $28.99. We were pretty hungry so a few of us went with all you can eat fish and chips. The fries were mediocre but the fish was awesome. Each one piece of fish here was cut into two half pieces when they fried it. The fish was perfectly cooked and flavoured with very crispy breading with perfect thickness. The white fish tasted so fresh and soft. The owner was so nice to renew our fish a couple of times until we were full. We came here as part of bus tour group. Our organizers had asked us to choose between the Fish or Chicken with Fries options for our lunch (along with a pop). Both my wife and I opted for the Fish. Our whole party was seated on the patio which had a pleasant ambience with a nice view of the lake. The service was fast and most of the servers were pleasant enough. There were two servers dressed like pirates who were particularly nice and friendly. Our meals came with little packages of Tarter Sauce and Rancher's Choice Vinaigrette. If you're ever in Tobermory you have to check out this place! We finished a boat tour and decided to grab some lunch from a local spot. We walked over to this place and it was jam packed with people waiting for a table and take out. We waited only 30 minutes for a table but definitely worth it. We sat down and our server quickly came over and introduced himself. He was super friendly and went over the menu with us. He explained that whitefish was their specialty. I'll admit .. Shipwreck Lee's was one of the higher rated restaurants so I decided to try it out. We noticed that there were two locations, and decided to try the one on the harbour front. This location offered all-you-can-eat for their whitefish fish and chips for 18.95, but as we weren't too hungry, we opted for ordering single dishes instead. My partner ordered the halibut with chips, and I ordered the whitefish with shrimp and chips. The halibut was tasty, but nothing special. It had a nice meaty texture and was nicely cooked. It could have been a little more seasoned in my opinion, but I still enjoyed it nonetheless. The chips on the other hand were quite disappointing. They looked and tasted like the McCain frozen french fries. They lacked any salt at all, and when we asked for vinegar they did not end up bringing any. Moving on to my dish, I really enjoyed the shrimp. Perfectly cooked, well seasoned, and crispy from the panko breading. The shrimps came with a packaged dip of "Olde style seafood sauce" which turned out to be cocktail sauce. It was nice and refreshing with a slight kick of horseradish. The whitefish was quite tasty as well. The batter was light and crisp, and the fish was juicy and soft. The fries on the other hand was the same frozen fries that were under seasoned. The tartar sauce that was provided was also prepackaged tartar sauce. Nothing special, and I wished it had more flavour. It was actually pretty disappointing for being a well rayed fish and chips place. The service on the other hand was amazing. Staff was attentive and friendly and really boosted the experience. Overall it was a nice establishment to visit once, but probably would not recommend friends nor would I go out of my way to return. Tobermory doesn't exactly have an exciting food scene. So considering that, Shipwreck Lee's is decent. But as it was our first night in town we expected a bit more and it didn't quite deliver. First, be aware there are two locations. We went to the newer one across from the ferry to Manitoulin Island. They have a good size patio with some views. No wait time compared to the original location which gets more people because it right by the harbour. We were told the menu is similar expect this one doesn't have all-you-can-eat fish and chips. The fish itself was fairly good. But the fries were lackluster. Tartar sauce was in little packets and not particularly flavourful. Not sure if it's due to COVID, but everything was disposable. It was rather difficult to cut and eat my fish with a plastic fork and knife over the fries. Service was okay. We had some difficulty getting a hold of our server even though it was pretty slow. Found this little gem through Trip Advisor. It was a perfect stop after exploring Flowerpot Island. You can find it by the blaring music coming out of the speakers. Not sure what kind of music they were playing but it was nice. We walked towards the patio and seated ourselves. Servers were dressed in pirate themed attire. Our server Dane was very friendly. He served us our menus and answered any questions we had regarding the food and menu. We ordered the Haddock and White fish with two sides of coleslaw. While we waited, other servers made conversation with us. This was nice. I have to say that the servers all had smiles on their faces and genuinely seemed happy to be there..
