    A FRICKIN HAIR..
    Karoline C.

there was no reason to be that rude. we've been coming here for the last 3 summers and never have we had the employees be this rude with us. first of all the employees did NOT have proper PPE, hair nets, masks or social distancing. THERE WAS A HAIR IN THE FOOD!!! our cashier was rude right off the hop as if we were wasting her time. as we got called up to pick up our order we noticed it was wrong and brought it to their attention, the lady at the window rolled her eyes and said "holy fuck" as if we were being a hassle. another employee came to the window as we waited for it to be corrected and told us to leave, we explained to her that we were waiting for our order to be corrected and that we were called up, she became rude and didn't seem to care and continued to tell us to leave. we waited another 5 minutes for our order to be fix ( turn a fry into a poutine) then when we got our order there wasn't any tartare sauce for our 8 piece of fish, we went back up and asked for some they gave us two. so we asked for more and the worked grabbed two handfuls and ask us sarcastically if that was enough. i really don't understand why they were so upset with us, there was no reason..

Acceptable fish & chips. Tartar sauce is not home made but industrial. Cole slaw was delicious. Would expect more pride with serving one dish and have it down to the details. I like my fries crispy - here they are not. No mayo available. All plastic cups and plastic silverware. Lots of trash being generated for being in a natural setting. They could do better but no competition around.

We are doing the Great American Loop and since we entered Canada we have been eating fish and chips in almost every town. Some are good some are just OK. Some are very famous, like Henry's in Sans Souci. And then there is Herbert Fisheries: in the middle of nowhere, completely unpretentious restaurant, with the best fish!!! The fried fish is not really battered but what I would call "dusted in flour"; that way you can really taste the fish. It is so fresh and tasty. They have a fishing boat that goes out every day and brings local fresh fish. It is wonderful that they sell the fish by the piece, or in meals. You can seat indoors or outdoors, or you can get the fish for takeout. They also sell beer and wine, limited selection though.

On a recent camping trip to Killarney Provincial Park, we went for dinner at Herbert Fisheries Fish and Chips Restaurant. Sitting along the water in the sun eating Fish and Chips was a great escape from the mosquitoes of the park. At Herbert's they serve fresh small pieces of white fish, fried to protection. The pieces of fish end up curling because they are so fresh. It's definitely a little different than your typical cod or haddock fish and chips, but that's what makes it good. The size of each piece is more like a chicken strip. So when they sell the dinner with 4 pieces, that is why. When we were there, we opted for the 12 pieces of fish (40 bucks) and 2 large fries (8 bucks total) to feed the 5 of us. We were just there for lunch, and didn't need a ton of food. This was a lot cheaper than us all getting the 14.99 fish dinner. They had a ton of picnic tables by the water, and some were under a shelter so you could get out of the sun. On top of that, they are building an actual nice big looking restaurant space, as right now they are just serving out of a truck. If I found myself in Killarney again I'd probably eat at Herbert's. And I'd recommend it to those who find themselves there as well. They appear to have a Sudbury location as well, but the Killarney one I believe is the original.

Nothing beats lightly battered, fried freshwater fish and Herbert Fisheries in Killarney does just that! We'd never have found this place if it weren't for a Facebook check-in to Killarney Provincial Park that prompted a comment from a friend saying that he had the BEST fried fish in the world right in Killarney... 20 years ago. It was a long shot, but the search was on! We found the place 20 years later and concur - they certainly do serve up some darn fresh fish! When the road leads you to Killarney, carve out some time to stop in Herbert's Fishery!

Thick cuts of fish and perfectly battered. Fries were perfectly cooked as well. Portions were huge.

I've been going here for years, but that's at an end. The fish n chips are good, but not spectacular, certainly not worth $24.63.

Fish and Chips". Being from landlocked Alberta, we have being trying to eat as much local seafood as we could on this trip. So we stopped in to this unassuming food trailer. I went with the Fresh Huron Walleye with chips and coleslaw (18.00 bucks), two of my family members went with the Walleye sandwiches and they spit fries with my youngest. The portions were HUGE. My only complaint of my dish is that there was way too many fries and not enough coleslaw. I would have liked to see more of a balance (look at my photo). The fish was amazing, and probably one of the best we had on the trip. We definitely didn't need the extra order of fries, we could have all four of us split mine and been full. Love the little picnic tables to sit at. Definitely worth the stop. If we ever on that highway again, we will be there!

The fish was fresh, the breading was tasty and the homemade tartar sauce was awesome. The chips were amazing as well. If this was down the road from my home, I'm sure I'd be there every week. Just a note, it is not hard miss. If headed towards Tobermory, it will be on your right shortly before you get to any of the entrances to Bruce Peninsula National Park. If headed from town, you will pass both the Cypress Lake entrances and the one just south of there (don't remember the name). Look for the Lonewolf Drive Thru sign Fish is served from around 11:30 with the last order taken at 7:30.

It took 30 minutes for them to call our number. Granted, they were pretty busy... But 30 minutes for 2 orders of fries is a little crazy. My fries were good (although not 30 minutes good) but could have been a little warmer. The person I was with said their poutine was good. I don't eat meat so this review is based solely on the fries and service. I'd still recommend checking it out for yourself! OH and the address here on Yelp didn't take us to the chip wagon. We had to continue driving until we saw it on the left hand side (leaving tobermory) which was about 7km.
