They change up the vinyls a couple times when we dined but they usually play the whole album. The food is more elevated than expected. The lobster was interesting because it came with this potato soup mash we never had before but it was pretty tasty. Lobster tail was cooked well but it was around $30+ and wasn't satisfying for a main entree. The Wagyu skewer was okay. We expected a fattier cut of meat but it tasted like normal steak to me. The sashimi bowl was good! Every piece of fish was fresh and unique. I really enjoyed it and it was a good portion size for a main entree compared to the lobster. The calamari is definitely a must try! We loved it and probably the best calamari we've had. Overall, we enjoyed the ambiance and service was great. But the menu is definitely a lot more elevated and for people with more "exquisite" tastes.

We didn't realize this place was a cousin of Shiro and owned by the same guy until we saw some similarities in their style, layout and menu but nevertheless, the food was still absolutely amazing. Even though the ambiance had some similarities, I'm glad their food options were distinguished because otherwise could have just gone downtown. You cannot go wrong with any of their food options. Highly recommend doing family style so you can get a taste of everything and all the different flavors. We started with the gyoza and calamari which were to die for and were not greasy at all. Pork ssam, wagyu, miso pasta and octopus all brought a little bit of their own element and flare to your palate that it's hard to describe unless you try it. Wagyu was just melt in your mouth delicious. Pork ssam and octopus had their crunchy texture and umami flavors. The miso pasta added a light refreshing touch to balance everything out but don't let it fool ya, the noodles will expand in your stomach. We topped it off with their yuzu cake. Our only disappointment was they were out of their other desserts but nevertheless everyone of us left full and happy. Would come here again.

First, the glassware is cleaned using a 3-dunk system where the final rinse is sanitizer rather than clean water (see images). I react to sanitizer residue on glasses, and, as an MD, I assure you that any exposure is detrimental to your GI microbiome. We politely asked whether the glasses could simply be rinsed and dried before serving but were told this would only be possible during slower periods. As a workaround, we began bringing our own glasses. Second, the bar staff assured us their pours were standard 16 oz pints. To avoid confusion, we marked our glasses at the 16 oz line. On a later visit, the owner's daughter (whose approach to customer service was unnecessarily confrontational) stormed over and informed us in a rude tone that their glasses were actually 14 oz "shakers," not pints. She then poured the beers well below 14 oz. After measuring the remaining volume at home, the pour was close to 10 oz. We own 14 oz beer glasses, and to receive true 14 oz, the glass would need to be filled to the rim, which obviously is not how beers are served. In practice, customers are receiving roughly 10 oz pours for $7 - excessive and misleading, especially when places like Yard House serve actual pints for $5.49 in properly dishwasher-cleaned glassware. Regarding the food, everything is supplied by Sysco, and nothing is made in-house. It is served on plastic or aluminum trays. Overall, the combination of lack of properly clean glassware -- which is the bare minimum an establishment charging premium prices should provide -- deceptive pour sizes, and the dismissive handling of legitimate customer concerns left us very disappointed. We won't be returning.

I almost always come for their happy hour (4pm-6pm or 9pm-closing.) They have amazing options for food and drinks on happy hour and can't forget the amazing value! I enjoy their smashed burger on every visit and I love their margaritas! Usually the margaritas are STRONG and I feel tipsy after just one! This time, the margarita was very sour and hard to finish.. Ive tried nearly all of their happy hour foods. All very tasty. My personal favorites are the Gringo Dip with Waffle Fries, Smash Burger, Calamari, Fried Pickles, Tequila Wrappers, Chicken Quesadillas, Nachos, and Spinach and Artichoke Dip. Our server was very attentive, friendly, and welcoming. He told us it was his second week and his first time serving. He was amazing. He ensured our meal was complete and that our drinks were refilled. I don't recall his name, but he was very very nice!

Located in La Cantera and with a large red Toro aka Bull in front cannot miss it. Sat at the bar for an after dinner wine and their signature 86 cocktail. Service was friendly and even had live Spanish music . Their authentic Spanish menu was definitely worth a visit but cannot comment on food till next visit. From the moment you approach the restaurant- Not even walk in- you are greeted by a professional and hospitable staff. In the front 2 young workers gave us sangria samples and helped take my photo. So smiley and kind. Then I checked into my table at the host stand. Our table was in a gorgeous lit room by the stairs. The inside was so breathtakingly beautiful and clean . The restrooms as well. Our server Omar quickly filled our drink cups with cold water and took our actual drink order. They have premium lemomades and also fountain drinks with free refills. When he returned he gave us great recommendations from their 8 dollar tapas menu on happy hour (M-F 3-6). We ordered 3: Tacos de Cochinita Pibil / Slow cooked pork marinated in achiote sauce . Calamares Fritos / Fried steak calamari w/ alioli sauce ... Albondigas / Five Spanish pork meatballs marinated in wine tomato sauce with bread .... The bread with the meatballs should be toasted and it was cold. The calamari were AMAZING. Not chewy at all. And tacos unique and flavorful. It took a while to decide but with Omar's guidance and a lot of research beforehand, I reccomend large parties order these to get the best tasting experience: Parrillada Española / Spanish grilled feast with morcilla, 4oz Spanish sirloin, chistorra, three fried jumbo shrimp, and poached potatoes with alioli Toro Paella / Toro's Classic recipe voted best in San Antonio! Jumbo shrimp, mussels, chicken, calamari, pork belly & spanish chorizo . The grilled platter came out first very fast and the meats were delectable. Love the sausage. Again... toast the bread but everything else was delicious. The paella didn't take long at all. It lived up to our expectations. Delicious and hot, enough to fill us up with whatever room was left. The nicest part was Omar brought us complimentary shots of some sort of strawberry cocktail with a chili rim. He was so thoughtful and brought my sister who was 12 a non alcoholic version. We cheered to a good time. It was so good!!! Then we asked for dessert recommendations. Omar suggested the Torrijas / Classic spanish dessert, bread soaked in sweet cream, fried & drizzled in honey .. so that's what we got. It was SO yummy like tres leches French toast. With their website you get a 30 dollar off first visit coupon using the inkind app. I signed up and it worked perfectly. After the discount all that food came out to $150. Insane for a party of 5. I tipped 30 and using that inkind app got 30 dollars cash back to use anywhere on the app. But ill use it here. Come to TORO for a great time. Linger. Talk. Enjoy unique flavors. Felt like going to Spain.
