A poor example of a chocolate filled doughnut bar
Andrew A.

What happened to Shipley's donuts, it looks like he got a toothpick to spread my chocolate over my donut. Quality assurance does not exist here too bad.

Very tired looking chocolate sprinkle donuts.b

Be wary of paying by credit card. They are going present you with a portable screen where you can leave a 15, 20, or 25% tip. There is an option to not leave a tip, but most people like myself in the moment will check one of the tip amounts out of charity I guess, or so we won't feel like a cheapskate. But either way, umm, why am I leaving a tip? For walking 7 steps, picking out a few donuts and kolaches? The service was pedestrian. The donuts were only marginally better than HEB. Kolaches were tiny, overpriced, and forgettable. And look at the sprinkles, or lack thereof. Businesses that do not offer services where tips are normally rendered, but still solicit tips in such an in your face way, is really frustrating. Anyone who has busted their butts waiting tables for tips will find this practice a bit shameful. It needs to stop. And I know, "just don't leave a tip and don't worry about it", I get that, but in general, this practice has to stop. If you've you've got a small order, it's no biggie, but on a larger order, when you've been guilted into larger tip, for reasons unclear, it leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

I love ordering custom donuts because I trust that they make it right and I'm always pleased with the design. Not to mention, the staff is amazing! 10/10. I absolutely recommend!

A special made blueberry cake do-nut with strawberry frosting and sprinkles.

Oh my goodness!!! This is my favorite Shipley's Donuts! The doughnuts are yummy but their kolaches are my favorite! They are so fresh and delicious! They always have a few without cheese. I even requested a blueberry cake do-nut with strawberry frosting; and they accommodated me. The customer service here is spot on. Everyone has been friendly here on my multiple visits and I really appreciate the consistency of service and product.

Dry old donut

Old donuts for sure. I am comparing it to all the other Shipley location and the original one in Houston. My donut was dry and hard. Go to another location. I am upset because I purchased 4 other different donuts and they look old too.

Drive through window

Went through the drive through this morning because this shop is in my neighborhood. I asked for a glazed old fashioned donut. I have no clue what was given to me, some kind of cake donut. Definitely not what I wanted, didn't even remotely look like an old fashioned glazed donut. It tasted okay, not terrific or fantastic. The service at the drive through was pretty quick, so I did give this business 2 stars.

Donuts and sausage and cheese kolaches

I always enjoy a stop at Shipley's donuts. I think the donuts are the best in town. The taste is beyond the sugared flavored yeast bread you get from Krispy Kreme. When you bite into a Shipley's donut you get the fix you need for your sugar craving. A fix that is not imitated all day over and over again. Because, Shipley's is not like Krispy Kreme and make there donuts all day till 11pm. If they did you obviously would not get the great tasting product that you get from them. The donuts are great, but the real reason we stop here on our way to church are the sausage and ham kolaches. It's like a freshly hand made hot pocket, which makes a great snack morning or afternoon. Overall I gave 5 because I think they make a better donut then Krispy Kreme, and the kolaches rock.

Oh sooo delicious!!

"Make life delicious!" That, they sure do! Especially since they are so close to home. Which I'm not sure if that's a good or a bad thing. Lol! Good because on days that I've run out of coffee to make at home I can easily make a quick run for a cup. Which I believe is reasonably priced and tastes great. Bad because on days that I've run out of coffee to make at home I can easily make a quick run for a cup... but also scoop up some donuts and/or kolaches! And they too are always delicious! Mmmm! Their location has great access to get on or off the highway. Their drive thru is convenient and fast. Their staff is smiling and friendly. I've yet to have a bad experience at this location so I can't wait until the next time I "forget" to buy coffee at Sam's or HEB. Hehe! Enjoy y'all!

I cant believe i paid $5 for this, i could've bought the whole container at the grocery store.

There is also a good selection of drinks as well. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, it makes the experience even that much better. The donuts are absolutely delicious, I had the matcha donut as well as the captain crunch, and bday cake donut. This is going to be my go-to donut spot now. I also got the opportunity to try the mango matcha refresher and OMG, it was so good and refreshing, especially during a hot texas summer. I look forward to coming back here and trying more things on their menu. I came as a part of yelp's hot matcha summer series, and I am beyond grateful to have been invited out here!

My wife and I also purchased the Captain Crunch donut to try. Since we visited about an hour before closing, it seemed like the staff was starting to wind down for the day. The matcha drink was definitely the highlight of the visit and had great flavor. Unfortunately, both donuts were cold and seemed a bit stale, which was disappointing. Overall, it was an average experience for me. I'd recommend visiting earlier in the day for the freshest donuts, and the matcha drink was worth trying.

It's a large restaurant and you have two places to order, the donut side or the taco side. They did not communicate very well but food makes it worth it. I've been coming here since I was a kid and have always had good experiences, which makes what happened today even more disappointing. We both took a bite of our tacos and immediately noticed that they tasted burned. We couldn't eat them, so I called the restaurant to make a complaint. I was told to bring the tacos back, so I did. When I brought them back, the "manager" asked me, "Where's the rest of the taco?" I explained that I had taken a bite, realized it tasted burned, and spit it out. She then told me she couldn't replace the tacos unless I had the entire taco. I understand needing proof of an issue, but expecting a customer to bring back an entire taco after they've already taken a bite and spit it out because it tasted burned is unreasonable. What bothered me most was the way the situation was handled. There was no real attempt to make things right or acknowledge that we had paid for food we couldn't eat. It's especially disappointing because this was a place I grew up going to and genuinely loved. After the way I was treated today, I will never be coming back. Good food can be ruined by poor customer service, and unfortunately, that's exactly what happened today.

We love that their donuts are freshly made to order, so we don't mind waiting. Unfortunately, our wait was unnecessarily prolonged when a staff member took forever decorating a dozen donuts, only to realize he was working in an old order slip! Man, the agony of waiting and anticipation was brutal. Thankfully, Azelin saved the day! Warm, patient, and professional, she stepped in and decorated our freshly cooked donuts quickly and skillfully. Shoutout to Azelin for being such a great team player! We took our half-dozen favorites: Choco-Chocolate Chip, Apple Cobbler, Caramel Pumpkin Cream, Orchard Glaze, and Donut French Toast. We'll gladly return, hoping for a smoother service next time. Fresh donuts are worth the wait, but better coordination and training would make the experience even sweeter!
