Went here this morning to grab a few donuts and coffee! Did not disappoint! Service was quick and the server was super friendly! We got 1/2 dozen mix donuts! 2 Boston cream, 1 blueberry filled, 1 chocolate sprinkles, and 2 chocolate iced donuts! All were fresh, light, and airy! Loved all the flavors! The coffee was also amazing! They have creamers and sweeteners on the side where you can add those. This will definitely become my go-to spot for donuts and coffee!! read more

They just opened Shipleys near my house but I hadn't been until today. I always get their coupons in the mail but I just didn't have a chance to check them out. I'm not really a big donut person but I was craving them today. I usually go to this family owned donut shop on josey but they were closed today. They have a wide variety of different types of donuts. I was pretty surprised because I thought they would just have the basics. I like basic donuts so I just got a dozen donut holes and small coffee. The donuts were pretty good. I wish I had asked them to heat them up a little bit tho. The coffee was pretty good too! They customer service was pretty good too the guy at the counter signed me up for their rewards program and was really quick. They also have a drive through I believe. They're pretty good donuts for a chain donut place. I would skip out on sunken and go to Shipleys. read more

I've never tried Shipley's until today. They recently opened up a location super close to my neighborhood and they sent out flyers with coupons so I decided to give it a shot. I came in around 2 pm so they didn't have any kolaches left since apparently they throw them away after noon or else they go bad, according to the worker there. I definitely recommend coming earlier because the donuts would be fresher. Apparently the bakers leave around 9am. I got 5 glazed donuts, a bearclaw (thin cinnamon layer in the middle of a donut shaped like a claw), and a cinnamon twist plus a bottle of milk. With the coupons I spend $3.30 so not bad for the first time! The donuts were good. Definitely better than all the other large chain donut brands like Krispy Kreme, but they can't beat local donut shops typically owned by Korean families. I think the local shops are just fresher. read more

Every donut shop should have a decent glaze donut, period. The donuts at this location were disappointing, the glaze lacked any type of fluffiness on the inside. The apple fritters were a bit oily and flat, it lacked craggly pieces that fritters are known for. Taste profile of the donuts here were slightly better than grocery store bakery donuts. I would not recommend this location. If the same dough is used at all Shipley's locations, It would be a hard pass on any of their donuts. read more

Good kolaches and quick service normally. The kolaches are more of a crunchy bread instead of the normal soft yeast dough. The sausage inside is very good though, these are normally very juicy and dripping. However, the jalepeno kolache is kinda lame because most of the jalepenos are in the center so you get one big bite of them and the rest is lacking. They look a little poorly made sometimes with some being massive and others being thin. I enjoy eating these initially but it usually always comes with a stomach ache after. My boyfriend got a lemon filled donut as well and it was comically small. It was smaller than the palm of my hand. I would stick with the DONUT shops. read more

I pick up donuts every Saturday for my team at PowerKenpo. The donuts are fresh and tasty, the employees are friendly. Very important in this environment - they take Covid seriously and everyone has been wearing masks, and wearing the properly, every time I've gone in. The service at 6:19 am was terrible. I don't usually leave reviews for any restaurants unless I feel strongly about it, this Shipleys in particular was not inviting at all. No greetings and I was left standing at the front while seven workers were in the back staring at me for at least 5 minutes. When one worker finally came to the front I was not given an apology nor any type of sympathy for my long wait due to no apparent reason. The place is actually called Shipley Do-nuts. My husband and I arrived around 1:30pm. Yelp said open until 6pm, the sign on the door said open until 5pm. My husband was finally ready to try a Kolache. The man at the register that seemed kinda agitated told my husband they stop making those at 12pm. Their selection of donuts was very minimal. But they had blueberry cake and sprinkle donut which are my husband and my favorite. We asked if they would honor the yelp check-in. He looked at my phone and said they don't normally do that but he'd go ahead and honor it. My husband and I ordered: (1) blueberry, (1) sprinkles, (1) cream cheese filled, and (1) cinnamon sugar. The total came out to about $3. My husband said the blueberry was good. The rest that we tried were stale. It was super disappointing. FYI: I don't believe there is a drive-thru at this location and you can take part in a five-star like program to earn free treats. If we ever come back it will be right around opening time in hopes that the donuts are fresh. read more

When this location first opened, the franchise owners were there every day making sure everything was running smoothly. Now they've abandoned the store and the people working there are terrible. They mess up every order if you're not watching them like a hawk to make sure you're getting the right thing. As a paying customer I don't think I should have to monitor the employees to make sure their doing their job correctly. This is really disappointing because the food is really good. But it's hard to enjoy when you get home to find not what you ordered and paid for. read more

Delicious, warm, soft donuts! We tried their chocolate, glazed, sprinkles, and Boston Kreme donuts. They were all very pillowy and yummy!

I don't get it. Any donut place I've ever been to and ordered kolaches at have a sausage inside that fill up at least most of the bread. The first bite I took out of the kolaches from here was all bread. Then I looked inside and saw the most pathetic sausage inside. There was so much space left and so much air, it was like the Lays Potato chip bag equivalent with how much air was in there. On top of that, when I asked if they were making any more cinnamon sugar cake donuts (because there was only one left) the girl said they're done making donuts. DONE MAKING DONUTS AT 10:35AM?!?! Shipleys is the best! Best creme filled donuts in Texas! So many variety of options from creme filled to cake donuts and then you get the savory options too! The prices are great and love how shipleys is open longer then most donut shops. The pig in a blankets and big sausage rolls and excellent, some of the best ones I have had (especially the one with egg, sausage, cheese and jalapeño.) The location is a good spot and the inside is nice. Since it is more of a pick up spot the inside doesn't really matter but glad it's kept clean and well. Wish shipleys would come to denton, tx! Definitely something missing in denton. Hypnotics is no where near shipleys level. read more

Haven't had doughnuts in a while and wanted to pick some up for my office. Waited for ten minutes at the drive through as the guy stared at me. Never took my order, I waived at him and he just nodded back. I decided to leave and on my way out I checked out the front. There was no one in there so idk what he was waiting for. I've been to the Lewisville location and this location. Even though I have to take the toll to get to this one, it's worth it and I do it every time. They have a big seating area so you can eat in comfortably. They have restrooms for customers as well which is a plus. This location also has a drive thru if needed. I love this location mainly because the customer service is so great. We go every sunday and I typically don't see the same employees but they're always so polite and quick, which is big in my book. As for donuts, they're the best. We always get the regular glazed, chocolate sprinkles and Boston cream. I've also had a kolache a time or two, all delicious. Interestingly I chose to go here due to yelp reviews. The donuts are fine they do not honor their yelp offer stating that they have asked yelp to remove it. I drove an extra 5 miles to get my additional free donuts. I feel that it was a bait and switch and I hate companies that lie. A few days before my wedding, I came to this shop and placed an order for 3-4 dozen donuts and kolaches for the bridal party. I made a few changes to the quantity of donuts and kolaches twice and the guy who took my order (I can't remember his name- he was so sweet) was kind enough to work with me and told me he'll take care of the order. OMG the donut was the bomb.com and my kolache was everything, they even gave my grandson a free donut. I was greeted and received service with a smile. I usually upload pictures but I it was so good I ate it before I had a chance to post. Will definitely return. Finally made it over to this location. I guess I was expecting the donuts to be served hot glazed and they were not. The donuts weren't bad but they just weren't what I expected or read about in other reviews . The kolaches in my opinion were nothing at all to brag about...just a big roll of bread with a itty bitty smoked sausage. The workers at this store are one of a kind this is the big reason I come back. I've never seen so many employees with great attitudes and so polite like this place.
