Made in Detroit bitches!

Detroit is the new Brooklyn. Great store with high-quality leather products, watches and bicycles. Great value for how well things are made. Good store for gifts! #supportamerica

This is shit. Oh wait, sorry, no; that's Shinola.

If you keep up with such things, you may have heard that the shoe polish people of "shit from Shinola" fame have repurposed themselves as a manufacturer of luxury consumer goods; specifically bicycles, leather goods, and big-ass watches. Actually, someone just bought the rights to the Shinola name so they could manufacture and market these things. The new Shinola has a flagship store right here in Tribeca where you can order an espresso and buy an iPhone cover or a leather notebook or even some shoe polish. You can't buy a big-ass watch because they don't have any for sale. They have some on display and a few old display models lying around they could sell, but they didn't actually make enough big-ass watches to open a flagship store. I'm pretty sure you can't buy a bicycle, either, because the bicycles they had were mostly hanging on the walls and there didn't seem to be one you could test ride. You can order some of these things (kind of like on the Internet) and someday they will make them. I don't think the shoe polish people ever had a flagship store, but they probably wouldn't have opened one without some shoe polish to sell.

The store is gorgeous plus they have this espresso bar and you can smell a good coffee aroma that you can't just walk out without a cup of coffee. Nice bags and many cool leathers and watches. They were very friendly too.

Awesome store! Very expensive but unique American made items that leave you wishing you had more $$ in your wallet. Props to the store designer for giving this store some real style and flavor

I came across this store as I'm in this neighborhood everyday. I feel like the location is a bit obscure for most people to take notice and take a hike here. But if you do venture in, the store is very aesthetically pleasing. They have a variety of leather goods, watches, notebooks, and even bikes. I bought a couple of notebooks which I had custom engraved at no charge. The lady who help me do the engraving was super friendly, and the staff are really nice. Although the engraving was free, the notebooks and other products are a bit pricey. They deserve 3 stars because the handful of staff putting up the installation in the front of their store were a bunch of snobs. They were so unfriendly when a customer asked what they were doing, and they sprawled all over the seats so no customers could be seated. This staff has not been definitive of my experience here, but it has certainly left me quite turned off.

Detrola watch.

Yeah, it's pricey, but what a gorgeous showroom and nice salespeople! If only I could have given them bigger commissions on my purchases!

I walked into Enoch's shop last week, and he quoted me $15 and 10 minutes, and I said sure. As the service continued, I became progressively more apprehensive, but was too polite to tell him "Sorry, I don't trust you anymore. Can we stop?" 1. He clamped my titanium bike on the seattube. One should always clamp on the seatpost, so if any crush damage occurs, it would be easily replaceable. Luckily there was no damage here, but he would have crushed a carbon fiber frame. 2. Unluckily for me, I have carbon fiber wheels. He used a steel vise grip to pull the tire off the rim... I've never had to use anything other than plastic tire levers to get my tire off. This caused dent damage on my flawless carbon rim, as you can see in the attached photo (I did not know this damage occurred until after I already left the shop). I do not know if the damage is just cosmetic or structural, and I will need to contact the manufacturer. 3. When he reattached the wheel to the bicycle, he rested the chain not on the cog, but past the cog on the rear axle, then stretched my rear triangle to handle the extra width, then tightened it down (this I also did not realize until after I had left). This is basic, and so obvious. If he had simply turned the pedal at all, he would see that it's not driving the wheel... When I discovered this, I ran home to get my multitool to relieve the tension on my frame and set it properly. Luckily this does not seem to be permanent damage, as the back wheel still seems aligned properly. If I had a carbon frame, he would have snapped it. At the end he said "I'll need to charge you more, $20, because this took a long time and was very hard". So I came in for a tire tube repair, and left with potentially hundreds of dollars in damage (still awaiting manufacturer reply if the rim is unsafe to ride or not). I made a mistake of bringing something nice here, don't make the same mistake yourself.

At no point should bolts randomly fling off your bike while you going down the Brooklyn bridge going 24mph. I'm a high school student and I had to pay for my bike with my own money. I've been working since 10th grade to help my mom because she is a single parent so for me the loss of about 5k including repairs leave me without transportation as I can not afford to repair it at this point. I've spent 3.7k on a bike, this isn't including the repairs i had to pay over the span of a year which amount to at least 1.4k+ after random bolts detaching and motor failing, and as soon as the warranty expired my bike had a random electrical issue where the bike wouldn't accelerate. From the owner Pete: OK, where are you going? (Direct email sent from owner) 1- Last Mile NYC replaces all of the electronics on your bike. The cost of the parts and labor is $2910.54 2- Send your bike back to Super73. They will do their own diagnosis, and determine the issues and fix the problems. Unfortunately your bike is not under warranty, the cost of packing up and freighting your bike to and from Super73 will be around $1200. Plus their diagnostic fee, parts and labor. I…read morehaven't written a Yelp review in years but felt compelled to do so this evening because I had such a great experience at Bicycle Habitat vs some other shops I went to in the city... I had previously tried getting a bike from the Specialized store on the UWS and while they were friendly, their service times left a lot to be desired. Same goes for Hilltop in Williamsburg (also owned by Specialized) - those guys treated me like I was a sale/noob and really couldn't have cared less about figuring out what was "right" for me given I wasn't going to be buying a bike from them. Nice guys, but once again - backed up for weeks on the service side of things. Back to Bicycle Habitat - Matt and the team were awesome. Took their time with me after a build and helped me get sorted with both shoes and clips - adjusted my bike a bit and really made sure I got some practice clipping in/out and that I was all set to go before walking out the door. All in all spent over an hour in the shop both chatting with the guys and getting set up with the new bike. I will 100000% be bringing any and all future bike needs to the shop and will be making it known to friends/fellow bikers that this is the place to go. More than happy to support the shop - 5 star service and looking forward to my next return.
