Hair Artistry & Company - All the product stylist attempted to gunk in my hair to blend it

Stylists and Clients, Proceed with Caution:…read more Based on my personal experience, coupled with the feedback of many others, I'm writing this review from a place of experience and free speech rights. In my opinion, the environment is not conducive to professional hair artistry. The owner is extremely controlling and utilizes surveillance cameras to monitor staff and client conversations, which creates a high-pressure and uncomfortable atmosphere. Throughout my time there, I observed highly erratic management behaviors and a preoccupation with nitpicking with clients over cheap furniture. Based on my observations of the high turnover rate of stylists leaving, across multiple locations this owner had, this does not seem to be a stable workplace. The atmosphere shifts noticeably to a negative atmosphere when the owner is present, making it difficult for stylists to showcase their talent and clients to feel comfortable. I cannot nor would I recommend this business for employment or professional services.

$700 of my dollars went down the drain quickly. Prior to arriving to appointment I sent pics of wanted hairstyle and explained it was my first sew-in so when asked if I wanted a part my answer was yes not knowing it required natural hair leave out. Regardless of hairstyle switch at the last second due to stylist attempt to flat iron my 4c hair on unmatched hair. Stylist was extremely distracted, unable to hold word of re-schedule properly, nor ever showed me where $400 worth of hair purchased from stylist came from. The secondary stylist not associated with this company who took the horrible style down within three days could see the tension on edges and the rush. Hair itched horribly due to untreated Yaki hair used as base for braids. Never again! Waste yall money if you want to. Never even received partial refund to prevent posting this horrible experience.

Makeup and Hair by Traci - Wedding Hair and makeup

    Makeup and Hair by Traci

Since apparently WeddingWire/TheKnot censor their bad reviews, here it is for Yelp, the only…read morereputable company left: Complete disaster, my makeup was a cakey, flakey mess the day-of from start to finish. If you want a beautiful, glowy look on your day of, make sure she doesn't send you the in-training amateurs like she did to me! I would not trust this company ever again though and do NOT recommend. Read on for details: Had a great trial run with Dana, was then hard to get a hold of Traci, the owner, the week leading up to my wedding - short one-word responses until 2 days before my wedding she finally tells me Dana can't make it, ended up sending me 3 amateurs who completely screwed up by not putting primer on any of us and ALL 9 OF US were a cakey, flakey, DRY MESS. DO NOT RECOMMEND. This cost me $480 for the trial and $2044 for the day-of, PLUS a $300 "non-refundable" deposit fee. TOTAL SCAM. When I tried to contact Traci, she first tried threatening me with her lawyer, then tried to backtrack, only to ultimately block me and cower out of trying to make any sort of amends aside from offering me 50% off of FUTURE services. Are you kidding me??? YOU couldn't pay ME to sit through that again! Get real lady! She knows she sent me complete amateurs and that's why she blocked me instead of at least giving me a partial refund, which is something any bsuiness with an ounce of integrity would do. I will for sure be reporting this to the BBB. Now here are the details: I actually made sure to take up close pics of it all day throughout the day, including in direct sunlight and even at night to make sure it lasted all through the day - and it did. it was absolutely FLAWLESS all day, not a single cakey flake in sight, and my braid and curls lasted through the whole day. I actually had to do my own braid because apparently none of them actually knew how to braid (even though I sent her multiple inspo pics of what I wanted in advance). They also forgot to bring lipstick? They did not have the colors that Dana used at all, and Bre whipped out only 2 lip glosses that looked nothing like my skin tone or remotely close to the colors Dana had used. I had to use my own emergency backup lip color, which was kind of dark but the only one I brought since I was going to use it in the evening for touch-ups. Now, the cakiness was apparent RIGHT away, and my curls in my hair did not even last me walking onto the aisle. I literally walked onto that aisle with SUPER caked up makeup and NO CURLS. AND Bre got the airbrush in my hair, too... It was too late before I noticed it. It looked like a gray streak in my hair for half the day. Not to mention the fact that ALL 9 of my bridesmaids, mother AND mother-in-law-to-be all independently each came to tell me the SAME THING; THEIR MAKEUP WAS DRY AND CAKEY. And some were too dark:/orange in the face. 3 of them had skin breakouts/rashes/reactions, I was told the makeup "artists" did NOT use any primer, applicators and did NOT CLEAN THEIR BRUSHES BETWEEN PEOPLE. THIS IS NOT PROFESSIONAL WORK. You can see the stark difference between Dana and Bre's work labeled in the photos attached. Dana is a professional makeup artist. Bre is a complete amaetur at BEST. I can do my makeup better than her, and looking back at these closeups, I really wish I had. Traci took forever to respond to me the week leading up to my wedding, which really stressed me out. She was the only vendor I had that was difficult to get a hold of. It was like. pulling. teeth. I tried to look for other vendors but 2 days before the wedding and with so much left to do, and had also sent her a non-refundable $300 deposit, I felt like I had no choice but to stick with her. Then there is the fact that all my bridesmaids were upset with their makeup. They told me crayons were being used?? The brushes were not being cleaned, no applicators used, hot pinks in place of neutral mayves, LINE OF GLITTER where no one asked for any! My black bridesmaid said they did not know how to do her makeup and made her look pale/dead, and that they added heat to her hair after she specifically told them NOT to. Amongst so many other issues that all added up. I am starting to wonder if this was all some kind of cruel joke? II tried to ask for a partial refund, but was ultimately threatened with lawyer talk, given countless excuses - from accusing me of having bad skin to the weather being the issue (LOL, the weather was literally perfect that day high of 72 with low humidity) - and ultimately told to talk to the other makeup "artist" Bre and then BLOCKED me, who also then promptly blocked me. :| Do not recommend.

She was great on the phone and her gallery was beautiful. She lost my contract which I have a copy…read moreof the email where I sent it to her in December. She rearranged the date and time of practice sitting after promising me that she wouldn't. I specifically mentioned that I was hiring her because others kept changing times. She talked constantly during the practice sitting. She interrupts and her young daughter was quite the distraction. I didn't like eyeliner on the inside of my lash line because it closes my eyes. She said it was because of the false lashes. She tried to change the time of my makeup for the wedding--THREE DAYS BEFORE THE WEDDING. I didn't know when I booked with her if two of my bridesmaids would make it. So I told her that I would meet her minimum with other family or friends. She must have forgotten and then canceled. Told me that she would refund my deposit and never did. Stopped responding to texts. Told me she would call but didn't. Because I booked too far in advance, I couldn't dispute the charge to my credit card. I never got my refund. Never will. She may have been very good at make-up. But to cancel on a bride willing to pay tells me she probably got a better offer. It was a stress I didn't need. I did my own makeup and it turned out great! I read other reviews on Google where she overcharged other people as well. I should have done more research. At least I didn't need to take a Xanax!
