Not very welcoming but they had what I came for. They were very friendly to the make customers who all seemed to be picking up paint. I was just there to get ideas & purchase perk & stick samples. Dong know that I'll return especially since I understand Lowe's also carries SW paints & is having a sale. So much for trying to support my local store & avoid the big box ones. I've been coming to this store since it opened, and have bought a ton of paint there, as well as a new gun for my sprayer, lots of brushes, tape, poly, and so much other stuff. Today I went in for a gallon of white exterior paint. I opted for their best, and put it in my credit card. I'm a contractor with an account there, and when I saw they charged me $72 for this gallon, I said "wow, is this the best you can do? " right then a clerk comes out from somewhere and says "that's it, I'm tired of you complaining every time you come in here". I said "I don't complain every time". She said "yes you do". I told her "I buy a lot of paint from here and I'm appalled at this price". She says "you can shop elsewhere, leave ". I said "what? Because I complained about the price, I buy a lot of stuff here." She replied "no you don't ". Well isn't that contradictory if she says I always complain every time I come in. That to me means if she notices a pattern, I must come in a lot. She made me leave, and said she was calling the cops, followed me out the door and proceeded to give whoever she was talking to my license plate number. This was all because I questioned the price they were charging me for a gallon of paint. I'm a contractor and I want their best price, I should get it too, but I didn't expect to get kicked out over it and a ban on shopping there. Mind you, I'm a 40 year client of Sherwin Williams and have bought hundreds of gallons of paint from them, sprayer tips, and tons of supplies. I was not rude, but she was very very rude, telling me I'm not welcome to shop there any more, because I questioned their paint prices. I think this clerk should be fired. I still like SW paint but this employee shouldn't be working here if she can't take a complaint now & then. Shame on her for treating me so badly. I will be contacting their headquarters about this, and will be contacting the attorney general. I did nothing wrong but question the price of a $73 dollar can of paint. read more

Well no wonder there are no reviews. This is not your name you poor misguided business. Thankfully, I know that when I go to Sherwin-Williams, I will get good advice, tips, and product. For instance I used to go to the big box stores to get stain for my deck which I would end up doing every year or two. I wanted something different and so I decided to check out a place that this is what they specialize in. This new stain, lets me stretch this unpleasant task out to three years and the stain comes with citronella. That's right. Many summer nights of mosquito free enjoyment. We also used there paint for the home four years ago and have been super happy with the results and how long it has lasted. Sure the prices are a little higher but the quality product you get in return is worth it. read more

Sherwin-Williams is my go-to paint product. When I usually go in the store I'm greeted with friendly, helpful service. I went in the store over the weekend and had a young male sales associate who would not make eye contact and a female, who when I stood alone at the desk while she worked on the computer, did not acknowledge my presence. After a couple of minutes I mentioned I would appreciate being acknowledged. She said "I am helping another customer." There was no one else at the desk. That's fine if she were preparing another order, but a friendly "I will be with you shortly" goes a long way. Instead she walked off to the back room. Definitely the B team on the weekends. I will be taking most of my business to the locally owned St. Paul business, Abbott Paint. read more

I went to the store early afternoon today looking for a neutral paint color for my front hall, stairway, and second floor hallways. As I began looking at color samples, I asked the (female) associate if she could lighten some of the colors, so they might work a bit better in the area. She replied, "Oh no, we don't do that here!" That was the first time I have ever heard that at Sherwin Williams! I was surprised by the lack of customer service. Neither of the two colors I took home were appropriate. So I went back at 6:00 PM to try again. This time I asked the same question of a different sales associate, Madelyn, as to whether she could lighten some of the colors. "Oh sure, we can do that! } (Can I say, "lack of consistency among employees," or perhaps it's a lack of consistent training among employees. Then Madelyn got busy with another customer and she went into the office to get someone to help me. I won't use the name of the associate who had been sitting in her office, but she was not happy to be helping me. I am terrible at choosing paint, and her nonchalant, impatient, disinterested treatment of my difficulty in making this decision was palpable. I mentioned to the associate who emerged from the office that Madelyn had mentioned they could lighten the paint. She explained to me that it was very difficult to do. She stalled and stalled and finally, reluctantly agreed to do it. Back in the paint preparation area, which is right behind the counter, she said, " I am just so peeved with this customer!" I said, "Excuse me, are you talking about me?" She never looked up. I repeated the question. Still no visual or verbal contact. I was shocked that she could be this brazen and insulting in her lack of customer service. When she came back around the counter, I told her that I had heard what she said about me. I told her I was hurt by that. She never acknowledged that I had confronted her with what I heard her say about me, and there was no apology. She never looked at me. She just rang up the bill and handed me the receipt to sign. Unbelievable! As long as she is employed there, I will never go back. The one star I gave in my review is for Madelyn, who was, indeed, a star! read more

Sold me latex paint and oil primer, when I pointed it out they became annoyed that they had to redo the transaction, it was 5:30 on a Sunday (June9th) and they close at 6:00. One employee said to the other in a condescending voice, as I was standing there "it would be nice to get out of here on time for once". Do your job right and you would get to leave on time. Certainly not the brightest or most dedicated group. They are also way overpriced. Try a hardware store, more knowledgeable , better service and better prices. Not bad people they just seem to be unhappy working at a paint store. read more
