The lady was able to match my paint perfectly with only a few paint chips. Very friendly

The SW store where I used to live, carries wall coverings. There are well-lit tables at which customers can sit and look at the many sample books, and order the products from the store. They are delivered to the store, and the customer can pick them up there. Wallcoverings are a large part of their business, and the employees are always friendly and helpful. I moved to Ogden, Utah, and have been decorating my home, so I called the SW on Wall Ave in Ogden to ask about wall coverings. The man I spoke to was rude and very emphatic about the fact that they do NOT order the products; I would have to do that online. I thought he was awfully abrupt, and I don't mind ordering online, but I went to the store anyway, to look at their books. There were only about 8 books, but no place to sit and look at them except a poorly-lit nearby small counter. A woman approached me after I had been there for about 20 min., but she was obviously irritated that I was even there, didn't look at me, and was pretty rude. She answered my quick question as she was walking away. Basically telling me, "We don't do wallcoverings"! I didnt need help, but a good employee would have offered to help with pricing, etc. Why offer a product in the store without any customer service??? They honestly should just eliminate that product from the store. I walked around the small store just to see what they had. I was looking for wallpaper paste; never found it, and no one asked if they could help. I noticed that most of the employees were less-than-friendly to the customers, and the only customers I saw them spend any time with were a couple who were looking at a very expensive professional paint sprayer. Made me think that these employees must be paid on commission, but it doesn't excuse their lack of personality or willingness to engage with customers. I don't know how this store stays in business, especially since you can buy Sherwin Williams paint and supplies at Lowe's. I won't be back. read more

I needed paint for interior doors so I went to this Sherwin-Williams store on Wall ave because it's closer to my house. I was checking out after selecting paint and they have the tall plastic dividers around the cash register a well as a loud paint mixing machine right behind the register too. I kept having to ask the lady "what? What?" Because I couldn't hear her so I stepped around a pallet of masking tape to hear her approximately 12 feet away. The store manager spun around and yelled at me "GET BACK AROUND THE COUNTER!". After this happened, one of the store employees from the back room of the store came out and also started yelling at me. He had on a facemask and I couldn't hear what he was yelling so here I am again asking over and over "what? what?". I finally asked him why he jumped into the conversation and he said "because we're a team" [management team I suppose]. Caveat emptor - According to a previous customer of that store, apparently the manager of that store is well known for his belligerent attitude towards customers. read more

Store manager Kevin was very unfriendly. We needed stain for our deck. The other two employees tried to be kind and helpful but did not have the same knowledge base. Manager kept helping all the people that walked in after us without ever actually acknowledging us at all, other than to tell the other employees that our previous deck stain was " illegal". He seemed really angry about us bringing this devil stain into his store. We left feeling very awful about this entire experience and went to the other Sherwin-Williams down the street where Greg was super nice and very helpful. read more
