About 80% of our house has hickory flooring so when we wanted to replace our carpet with hardwood, we had to match the hickory. I don't love the contract of hickory so I was looking for a stain to darken the lighter hickory pieces. I came across Birchwood water based stain at SW and my flooring guy picked up a sample in San Jose, put it down on the hickory and I LOVED it. So we moved all the furniture out of the rooms and got ready to finish this long project. NO problem...until it came time for us to buy 9 quarts of this stain. My flooring guy went to 4 Sherman William stores in San Jose and got 4 different stories of "we don't even carry that stain" to "that is special order and 1-2 weeks" I called up Andrew in our local MH store and he said he didn't have the water base cans to mix the stain, but he actually checked the computer system (what a concept) and Watsonville had them. He placed them on order for me and my flooring guy picked them up, put on the stain and my house will be put back together so soon vs. 1-2 weeks. Andrew is the best and very knowledgeable! Highly recommend the team at the MH store and especially working with Andrew! read more

This location is really unprofessional. I'm a contractor and placed in order at 8:30am. I was told I would receive a call back about my order. Never did so I stopped by at 1pm and was told by the same guy my order was almost done and someone would call me at 3pm. No call so I call and the manager answers the phone I ask about my order and he says not sure what happened. No apology just not sure what happened. So I go to normal location in San Jose and my order is complete in 30 min. I really think a regional manager should think about who he has in place as a manager ? The employee should be put back on a training tour of duty. read more

This review is based on employee responsibility. I came here to pick up paint for the crew which starts at 8am on this Saturday. I decided to get to the paint Store at 7:30 not knowing these guys open at 8am. Ok I'll wait I figured and so did a few other painters in need of paint. Well, after a while no one was there to open and I had appointments to get too so I left. As well did all the other painters waiting. M I st of us like to get to our jobs at least 15 minutes early but I guess not the guy who opens the store. Maybe he's one of those last minuters. read more

I just had to write and say how great this paint store is and how exceptional and knowledgeable the employees are. I went in this morning expecting to be rushed and to my surprise It was a great time of day to be at this store because I got very personalized and thorough service from Grant the store manager and Aric. Grant answered all of my questions, he offered GREAT suggestions and was extremely knowledgeable on all of the colors and product lines. Aric was able to suggest to me an Ap on my phone called "Color Snap" by Sherwin-Williams that allows you to match a color by taking a picture with my phone of any color I may like and the AP will match up to a color within the Sherwin-Williams color lines. Aric showed me where I can access this ap on my phone and I was then able to download the ap right there at the store and use this AP when I am out and see exactly the color I want for certain places within my home. I can not say enough about these two employees and how thankful I am for all of their help today! Grant was EXCEPTIONAL as a Store manager and should be commended on such great personal customer detailed service and his expertise in all of Sherwin Williams products. read more

My boyfriend and I are redoing our guest bedroom so we stopped in last Sunday to find the perfect shade of taupe paint. We walked in and no one acknowledged us. We were there for at least 10 minutes looking at paint swatches and no one ever came out to ask if we needed help. We could plainly hear a couple of employees towards the back of the store chatting and cussing up a storm. They were about as professional as they were helpful. Morgan Hill was out of the stain color I wanted I was told my option would be to go to Gilroy to pick it up or wait a couple of days for it to be delivered. I drove 25 miles round trip to Gilroy to pick up the stain. After testing the color It was not the desired color and I went back to the Morgan Hill store to which the associate said that she would order another color from Gilroy and she would exchange it for me when it came in. She was very helpful. When I went to pick up the new color Andrew refused to take back the stain and said that it was "his" policy not to return a product from another store and I have to go back to Gilroy. I explained that I was told that I could exchange it in the Morgan Hill store and that it was not convenient to drive back to Gilroy. He kept saying it was "his" policy and I' sorry if she told you the wrong information. It is my opinion that they should have backed up what I was told and provided excellent customer service, instead I am going to have to make another trip and spend time and gas to return and am not a happy customer. He kept saying "I'm sorry" but that does not solve the problem or make me feel better. read more

I came into this store while in Morgan Hill for a meeting. I'd been looking for a paint color for my open kitchen to complement new tile back splash and happened to have the tile samples in my trunk. I'd already been to True Value Hardware in Orinda twice with the same tiles, bought sample paints and nothing had been right (and the True Value customer service was terrible). The young guy running the Morgan Hill store was very helpful and blended a beautiful paint color that looked great with my tile. Feeling confident, I bought two gallons and took the paint home. It's on the kitchen walls now and looks fantastic. Great service from Sherwin in Morgan Hill! read more
