My floors are dark gray and so hard to do anything with. JOSUE from Sherwin-Williams helped me pick the most beautiful combo of colors for my walls. He was an expert and also so sweet and fun to talk to! He really took extra care and attention to detail. I didn't even know what tools I needed and he gave me the perfect set. When I started painting, even him knowing that I needed the wider painters' tape than the average one people get ended up coming true. He really made me want to find other spots to paint just so I can go back! JOSUE is the BEST. This Sherwin-Williams was a lovely experience. Thank you so much!!!!

I wish I read the reviews before going here as it seems they have a reputation for robbing people…read moreblind. I went in a few days ago and ordered 5 gallons of Benjamin Moore paint. A day or two later I had to go back for an additional 5 gallons - no big deal right? I go up to the front and order 5 gallons of the Regal grade paint in the color that I wanted. Guy says ok and walks away. I'm taking care of stuff on my phone and another guy comes and takes my payment. Before I know it they are rolling out my mixed paint.... in the WRONG finish. I hesitate and say that I needed it in Matte as I did before. They never asked me the finish. The guy said he remembered what I got the day before and that I was wrong so I call my handyman and have him confirm that what we had was matte, and it was. THEN the guy changes his story and said they did ask me and I asked for eggshell - which is laughable because even in a distracted state I would NEVERRRRRRR say eggshell. At this point he's arguing and gaslighting me so I take a moment and think, ok, let's dial this back and ask if there is something we can work out. I understand this is a business and regardless of who is at fault (him) maybe we could work something out. But he doubles down and his voice is raised and shaking and saying that I asked for eggshell. At this point I know he is lying because, to reiterate: A) they never asked B) I would NEVER get eggshell for this project and C) he is trembling with rage and honestly - that tells me all I need to know. So is this a scam they run to get people to pay for stuff? What else could it be? I left the paint there and went to another store and guess what? They asked what finish I wanted. I told them what happened and even they said woah... someone there fucked up. I want to make it clear that I left because I was robbed and felt unsafe from the lunatic lying through is ever loving teeth. That's over $300 down the drain because someone failed to do their job correctly and then had the audacity to try to pin it on me. Don't spend your money there because you will regret it.

Once upon a time, the husband was patching up some of our walls. He placed this dark blue painter's…read moretape along our walls and I instantly fell in love with the color and the way it contrasted with our white walls and dark furniture. It reminded me of Frida Kahlo's Casa Azul and at that moment, I wanted to paint an accent wall that color. Some time passes, we end up going to get the paint. Unable to persuade the hubby to go for the dark color (he swore it would darken our place), we compromised on a baby blue color. Meh. After living with the color for about a year, the hubby agrees that we should have gone darker. Insert eye roll here. Seeing as how we had picked Benjamin Moore's Aura collection for the baby blue (numerous articles claim it was he best quality paint at a reasonable price), we wanted to seek the same quality of paint. The original store where we purchased it from was no longer in business, so we found another. Enter Eastmont Paint & Decorating. Thanks to the service received at EP&D, we were able to get the right paint color this time. We brought in a piece of the painter's tape and they were able to direct us to Big Country Blue. We absolutely love the color (& no, it didn't darken the space). The husband learned to trust his wife's vision that day.

Inconsistent paint and poor customer service - stay away…read more I ordered a gallon and two quarts of Portola paint for a project at home. Their website and labels emphasize "handcrafted" and "batch-mixed" for consistent color, so I expected everything to match. Unfortunately, the two quarts were noticeably different from the gallon right out of the cans. The color variation was clear on the wall and made the whole area look patchy and uneven. I called customer service and spoke with a representative named Dolce. She told me it was my responsibility because it "has to be batch-mixed" and basically blamed me for not knowing that. After some back-and-forth they did refund the paint, which I appreciate. The problem is that the refund doesn't fix the real issue: I now have to repaint the entire wall, hire help, and spend more time and money trying to find a color match that actually works. The hassle and extra expense are significant. For the premium price they charge, I expected much better consistency and support. I won't be buying from Portola again.
