Everyone wants to "know a guy in the business", and I'm going to give you the skinny on mine. Actually, all the employees at Calumet in Oak Forest are top notch, but if you have any paint related questions whatsoever, ask for Tony. He'll probably be in the back working on inventory, ordering new merchandise, or just taking a nap...I really never know, since after all, he's in the back. But he's sure to help when beckoned, so don't hesitate to ask for him by name. He gets that all the time. This is one of the only businesses I know of that carries other brands of paint along with the Benjamin Moore brand. Most of the others tend to have signed an exclusivity clause with BM, which means you're pretty much stuck with what they're giving you. Myself, I like a choice. So if you want your own guy in the painting industry, go to Calumet, ask for Tony and walk out with exactly what you need to get your project done right. I want to thank Cynthia for an amazing job, her time and enthusiasm in helping me choose the right colors for multiple rooms in our recently rehabbed home. I had the vision but with hundreds of variations and all the other factors that go into choosing paint, doing it myself was daunting. Cynthia came in and helped me break it down quickly and create a cohesive palette that flows beautifully from room to room. I couldn't be happier. Super professional and nice, I cannot recommend Cynthia and this service enough. Well worth the nominal investment. I believe the service was around $50 and perhaps even less because a gift card was presented at the end to use toward the purchase of paint. Very reasonable. Great service!!!! Thank you Cynthia!!!

I recently visited the store (Evergreen Park, Illinois) in order select paint for a basement. My…read moregoal was to select ceiling paint, wall paint and baseboard paint. I was serviced by Anthony who was very personable, patient and knowledgeable about products and the paint palettes. My situation was very tricky because one portion of the basement has blacked out ceilings and the other has a standard white drywall ceiling. It was important that the correct hue of gray was picked to ensure that the space remained welcoming and not industrial. Anthony educated me on warm hues vs. cool hues as well as which hues gave off green, blue or purple. I've shopped at this location for over 10 years and I've never encountered an associate this knowledgeable about his craft. I look forward to visiting this store for all of my paint projects.

I'm walking aimlessly looking for paint, I heard a faint hello. They're not in sight, so I said hello I'm looking for paint. The voice is coming from the back of the building. Five minutes later the girl comes out. She's super friendly but maybe it's a ploy because I've been in the store that's empty for 7 minutes. I asked where's the paint she takes me to the paint. Where are the paint brushes, on the opposite side of the store. I gather my items and my paint isn't ready. 30 minutes later my paint is finished and 2 customers have came and went. But the paint was a perfect match. Three stars for the friendly staff just wished the service was equally provided.

I called the store on Friday, 7/15/22, hoping they would be ready and I was told Monday or Tuesday. I went to the store on Tuesday, 7/19/22 and they were ready, but I never received a call stating they were indeed ready for pick up. Upon being given my screens I noticed that one looked wider than I recalled, but I didn't measure them when I dropped them off, so I left the store with all three screens fully repaired. When I installed two of the three screens that had been repaired, all but the one which seemed wider, fit perfectly. I took the screen back on, along with a screen from a similar window. You could see that the screen I was given was too wide. I was told to come back the next morning and speak to "Jake". The next morning I spoke to Jake and his words were, "I guarantee that is your screen". I said it is not the same width as another screen from the same bay of windows. His response was "all windows are not the same size, and is the screen from the top". I told him, there is only one screen per window, and when I tried to reinstall the screen it did not fit, and I asked if someone could put the screen in since he guaranteed it was my screen. He said not he, nor anyone else in the store would do that. What horrible customer service! Not once did he say it was possible there was a mix-up with the screens. I told him this would be the last time I would be in this store.
