I live in the city an I come to this Menards a lot. I find everything I need. But don't ask for help to take your stuff to the car. Service sucks. There was two people who did help. They do have almost everything you want. The cashiers were nice. We needed help with something the customer service and manager were helpful and nice. read more

These people are definitely slow at this location, I came in the store this morning, guy was clueless about doors, I called on the phone to be transferred, and some guy Chris gets on the phone telling me about another customer this and that. I'm trying to get help, and he is going on about something else. Very disappointed to encounter this type of behavior when spending thousands of dollars. read more

No o-rings in the plumbers' o-ring section which has 100+ little drawers for different sizes. Most of the drawers are EMPTY! I drove 7 miles to next Menards in Hammond, IN and they had every size available, I didn't see there a single empty drawer! In Dolton location no one cares about restocking parts. Demetrius in building was so patient and helpful. It took me two days to figure out how to build a gate and each time I came to the store, he was willing to help. I like the Dolton Menards because of superior customer service and floor models so that I have some point of reference when describing my project to the staff. read more

Menards is ALWAYS clean and tidy, but the associates have never been as helpful as the competitor a few miles away. On this day, I bought a car cover which was hella affordable, and on top of that, I received a rebate for 11% back. Though I appreciate the gesture of a rebate, unless it's significant, I'm not one to mail out for a small check. Guess I'd have to shop more frequently to take advantage of the offer. read more

I placed a pickup order on 09/04/23 at Menards in Dolton for a Matte Black Tabletop smokeless firepit on 09/4/23. I realized I never picked it up the firepit. I remembered that on Sunday, 11/5/23, when I went to pick up pillows ordered on 10/07/23 and a TV cabinet ordered 10/20/23. I asked Maurice about the firepit, and he stated that it had been picked up. I told him it hasnt been picked up because i forgot about it until now, thinking they canceled the order and returned my money back to my card NOPE. he said someone picked it up. I replied that as long as i have been using the pickup service, I have never authorized anyone to pick up my items. I said that impossible. He printed out a receipt that showed some kinda scribble name on it. He then said his manager was on duty and dispensed the item to the person. He overhead paged Jerome, who said Jerome came to the desk and said he did not know what happened, but they no longer had the item in stock, so they would have to refund my money but he needed a couple more days to review, i said ok took my other two items and left. On Tuesday, i called the store and spoke to Maurice about the status. Maurice stated that Jerome processed the items, and it was a man who signed for it. NOT MY PROBLEM. I called back Thursday for an update. Maurice said he didn't have one and needed a couple more days. OK. No followup on Friday, so I called today 11/11/23. I spoke to Maurice, and he stated that unfortunately, they are unable to give me a refund or the merchandise because someone had my email and was able to present the code to get in and out the gate to pick up the item. Yet they don't have proof. I asked to speak to Jerome, the department or store manager, Maurice, who said Jerome was not in, that he contacted the department manager on his private number, and this is what he said. Ok , who's is the store manager he said he didn't know, but there is closing manager Jonathan. Within 1 minute, i was transferred to Jonathan. Common sense states he would not have had enough time to review any documentation, yet he stated verbatim what Maurice had stated. HOW? I will be contacting regional and corporate to file a formal complaint. HOW DO YOU TAKE PEOPLES MONEY AND GIVE THEIR MERCHANDISE TO YOUR FRIENDS AND EXPECT THEM TO PAY FOR IT. POLICY states you have to add the person name to the order. POLICY DOESN'T MATTER. FOR ME, it's $22.00, but it's my $22.00. I work hard for those pennies. I will not be shopping at MENARDS to be treated like a criminal. I'd rather go to HOMEDEPOT or LOWE'S. read more

This is by far the slowest moving Menards I have ever been at. Completely unmotivated lazy staff. You can tell most of them work harder at avoiding work rather than doing their job. Avoid this place at all cost. Have never had a smooth trip here. read more

I wanted to take time out to recognize a worker at the Lincoln Ave -Dolton- store. the last Xmas I bought my niece a lighted makeup mirror, this Xmas it needed a new bulb. REGINA lighting and I spend 30minutes first locating, selecting and replacing the BULB. How many ladies . .. LOL anyhoo we did it we did it REGINA was patient, HANDS ON and made me (the customer) feel OK. This is one of the better chain hardware stores I've been to in the Chicago area... unlike Home Depot where you can't find any employees, let alone someone to help you... Menards is full of people willing to help. If you ask someone in the bathroom department where to find something that happens to be in a complete other department, they won't just explain it--they'll actually walk halfway across the store with you and show you right where it is. It's pretty top notch service! They just expanded this location and a lot of the lumber is now all indoors. read more

Walked in to pick up a chandelier and Chrystal Lamp and needed light bulbs for them And couldn't find any assistance to find these Light bulbs , finally found someone and told me they would send someone, but no one came. So I left the 300 hundred dollars in items and walked out, ended up buying the Chandelier at Home Depot. read more

First off, I love menards. But whoever is responsible for the new layout of merchandise after the "remodel" last month at this store really needs to be sent for a drug test. The lumber section was nicely laid out. Now NOTHING makes sense anymore. There is drywall joint compound displayed with no drywall in sight. Plywood, paneling, dimensional lumber are mixed together with no discernible plan that I can see. Gas cans, oil and the like are shoved against a wall far away from where the products that use those are displayed. It made sense before. Like items were kept together. It's so frustrating that I now shop at the store in Hammond. And don't even get me started with that two story abortion of a store in schererville. read more

Why is it that every MENARDS is set up on such a confusing and unorganized way? Well either way, this one is even worse than both and the staff have no idea where anything is. No one ever asks if you need help finding anything because they realize you're probably better off on our own. worst customer service of all time. the manager "don" is absolutely unprofessional. they completely forgot to make my delivery due to a computer glitch on their end. as a result my delivery is a day later than agreed. most reputable establishments will give some type of compensation for this such as free delivery or 10% off something to say i'm sorry for your inconvenience. not don, not menards.....instead they blamed the customer for not calling earlier and disrespected me on the phone. the worst! lost our business! read more

I came into this menards 6/30/2014 and brought window blinds and a patio table the table had a long scratch in it and the manager John would not discount it or try in any way to assist me so that I would be a happy customer and want to come back to this store to conduct business again, I still purchased the table only because my husband wanted it and we are having a huge family function on his birthday on the 4th of July. I also had to come back the next day to get more blinds only to realize that the blinds that were in the box were the wrong blinds so I had to go back to this stupid menards to exchange them And this time it was another manager whom happened to be a female this time and she sucks as a manager just as john did. I had me receipt from Home Depot and they would not even price match my blinds not even considering the fact that they sold me the wrong item to begin with. Through all of this I would say this is the worst store to shop at and conduct business with because they do not care about the customer it is about their own satisfaction. I would go to the one up north or in Indiana because it's a shame on how this menards in dolton, IL treats their customers. This store is the worst. read more
