Hey fellow Yelpers! I've been to this Harbor Freight location many times usually with my boyfriend since he works in the automotive technology industry. It's similar to stores like Ace Hardware, Home Depot, Lowe's, Menards, etc., but they have deals that no other store can beat. They have a $29.99 yearly membership where you can get access to even more discounts. Faves/Go-Tos: I usually come to Harbor Freight for their $0.99 bags & batteries. The $0.99 reusable bag is 19 gallons and is very similar to iconic IKEA one, so save yourself to trip to IKEA if you're looking to get big reusable bags. I usually use the big reusable bags when doing laundry or grocery shopping. Customer Service: The staff are usually friendly. In my most recent visit, I was greeted when I walked through the door which was nice. Merchandise: This Harbor Freight location has some decent inventory. Most times when me & my boyfriend come, almost every visit, he buys something for his job. Bathroom: The bathrooms are located towards the far right corner of the store. The bathroom is usually clean at least all the times I've gone. Overall Experience: Overall, I have a good shopping experience at Harbor Freight at the Burbank location. Where to start, the store was a complete mess walking around trying to find stuff. When I asked Martha if they had more of an item the way on sale all she said was NO! and kept walking. I bought a case 13 days ago to be exact and they had a coupon come out a few days ago so what did I do go into the store to try to save some money but when I went up to do a return and then buy back with coupon even though the cashier knew she could do it the "manager" Martha tells her no we don't do that. Because she can't articulate her reasoning ahe says my manager said we can't. Awesome to put someone like that in charge of people. No wonder the store looks and feels a mess. read more

I went to Harbor freight for their tool selection and their prices. It is advertised as a parking lot sale. the descriptions do not match, when you observe the products. I shopped for a lot of items and had the emailed flyer on my phone and when I showed them they said that that was only for members that paid a $30 Fee. If you paid the $30 Membership fee, then where is the sale. This was in small print and I had to wait for 5 days before picking up the items at the sale price. This is ridiculous this is the reason why I don't come here. read more

I went in to buy a Safe for my home and I understand, I was there late so no one was able to assist with moving the safe from front to back. So the young lady told me I'd be able to get it in the morning and I said I can't I work from 530am - 4pm then get home around 530 -6 pm so she took time to check the schedule and said "you'll be able to get some help in the afternoon timeframe" I get there following day and I was shocked at how quick they denied to bring my safe out so I can take it home in which I paid in full for as they were VERY QUICK TO SWIPE MY CARD but I cannot receive my belongings I paid for as quick as my card was swiped. If you have no intentions to help someone then you should not be working there. read more

Me, family and friends have been going to Harbor Freight for years. I primarily go there whenever they have their special sales where they're selling stuff out the door but outside of that when they're not having that sale the store is pretty expensive but it's got more than everything you need though for your next DIY project. There's never any issues with Parking either. read more

This is a national chain of tool stores with 3 stores in the Chicago area (others are in Arlington Heights and Aurora). It's an emporium of made-in-China tools and as such, the prices on some items are unbelievable. Besides basic power tools, they have woodworking, garage, metalworking, welding products. You can outfit a machine shop in your basement from here. If you're a professional you may need more heavy duty and durable tools. I did see Dewalt tools on their website but not in the store. Great place if you need a power tool (eg drill, saw) for a one time use or for sporadic use. I think everyone, including and especially apartment dwellers, should have a set of basic tools in their home (hammer, screw drivers, pliers, wrenches). Well, you can get it here for pennies plus a tool box to put it all into. A great place to just stop in and browse even if you're not looking for tools. It has a tinge of American Science Center - you never know what you will find there. Even though the physical address is on LaCrosse, its right off of Cicero in a mall near the Best Buy. read more

Cant beat the prices. Just be aware that it's full of chinese quality tools and for many applications that is OK. Stupid punk kids run the place and they try to make you aware that even though they are 18 years old, they know more than you do. I only use them to lift heavy things into my truck, so its OK. Just dont expect any good advice from them, do your home work ahead of time. You will get more than you pay for here, hence the 4 stars. read more

I strongly recommend that you find the products you need elsewhere. The customer service is terrible. A local store has no clue how to answer questions. When you cancel an order that after ten business days was not processed they shop five business days later and charge you for it. read more

My companion loves tool shopping on the weekends. I don't know what possesses me to go along, but harbor freight is pretty fun. They have a large selection of inexpensive tools. A lot of unusual stuff too, welding masks with scary faces, big sandblasting units and giant air compressors. They have a monkey wrench that almost as big as me. I usually can entertain myself for awhile walking through the aisles and prodding the merchandise. Who knows, maybe you might see me turn some wrenches. read more

Just came from the store and had a very good experience that I wanted to share. Everyone working there was both friendly and helpful. The manager" Jose" helped me get the best deal by using the proper coupons. I purchased an air compressor, an electric pressure washer and an assortment of drill bits. The manager retrieved the air compressor from the back of the store and brought it to the front of the store immediately After completing my purchased he brought the compressor to my car and helped me load it inside thank you Harbor Freight, for hiring these wonderful employees. read more

Your basic semi hardware store with a twist of China. Like to explore here on occassion- on their mailing list so I get free items now and then. Bought some of their bigger tools and they are holding up so no complaints. read more

Great place for tools as the other reviewer mentioned. The kid I ask for help to locate a part didn't even turn around to look at me, he just said "no". After I pulled out my phone to look online, I went back up to him and said "can you look up this item #!?". Reluctantly he did, probably never realizing I was the same guy who just asked him for help 3 minutes earlier. Service like this is NOT helping their business! Have to know what you're buying. Some of their tools are really great for The price you pay. I got a great deal on a sander, that I use once in a while. But other power tools are use harder i bought at a competitor and it has lifetime warranty so I went for that. They have a lot of deals and great Hand tools that you can't find anywhere else. read more
