I also needed to choose the right paint colors to make their home as attractive to buyers as possible, which in the best of situations is challenging, but I was in a serious pinch. Thankfully, God IS good - all the time! I walked in to JC Licht because they were the closest store to my moms SNF that sold BM paint. Ada (not sure about the spelling, sorry Ada!) approached me and I told her the three paint colors I thought I was looking for - but I really had not had time to consider how much natural light or lack there of, or how the colors would look with their hardwoods, or any of the other dozens of things that can make a paint color "all good" or terrible. She listened to every bit of information I could give her, and confidently told me the paint color and trim color I needed. And she was 100% right!!! She also helped me think through all of the other items I would need, helped me choose the right caulk, make sense of what tools I really needed (as well as what I didn't) and set up an account for me. I thought we'd be out by the middle of November, but as October moved into November, moved into December, I realized that she was right again! I needed one, it cost nothing and saved me a bundle! This young woman knows her stuff and she was SO much more than kind in her assistance to me. JC Licht Vernon Hills is fortunate to have such a competent - no skilled - no gifted! sales person working for them! Thank you Ada!!! Their house finally made it onto MLS Dec. 30th and it looks beautiful, thanks to your help! You are a remarkable young woman, and I realize that to you - it may seem like you did an old girl a small service, but I was SO overwhelmed, and you cleared my confusion, saw EXACTLY what was needed and guided me perfectly! Approximately 20 years ago I had put in Hunter Douglas blinds throughout my whole house. Recently I…read moredecided to change 5 blinds out along with ordering blinds for 2 new windows. JC Licht was suggested to me as a distributor of Hunter Douglas blinds - to say the least I am so happy they were recommended, they were wonderful to work with. The decorate was absolutely great, she knew her business and her decorator eye and suggestions were really appreciated. I can't say enough about, I believe his name was Andy, but he measured and installed the blinds - wow, you can tell he has done this for sometime. Again, as he was measuring he was asking different questions about how I wanted the blinds to work, again since it has been approximately 20 years ago there were some different issues that were corrected by Andy and what a difference it made. When he installed the blinds he was so knowledgeable, experienced and fast - no mess. All I can say is this was my first experience working with JC Licht, but will definitely use them again.

There were the obligatory tools, paints, yard stuff and then in the back there were cards and city candles (Lake Bluff you smell good), housewares, knickknacks and whatnots. I was only here to purchase yard waste stickers and that plastic thing that goes on your windshield to keep your vehicle sticker from gooping up the glass (yup, they had it), but I also bought a zip code towel and candy. I was on my way back from the Chicago Western Suburbs, driving back to Milwaukee after visiting my dying father in a hospital. I had to take a call from a close out of town out of the country relative and it was too cold standing outside to talk to I ducked into the nearest store, this one. There was no one else in the store, and the sales guy came up to see if I needed help but then overheard enough that he politely and discreetly turned around and surreptitiously went about his business. When I finished the phone call he recognized I didn't actually want any paint and left me be even though I didn't leave. I can't explain why but I was staring at some cans of paint, and later it registered on me that they have a pretty good stock, and of course Benjamin Moore is a high quality paint. I think one of the foundations of good customer service is reading customers and figuring out what we need. I'll tell you when I do need paint, I'm coming back here even though it's 45 minutes from where I live. It's next to an excellent Thai restaurant. One more plus, the owner supports the Northwestern Wildcats.

We spent nearly $20,000 with this company in 2022 on window treatments for our new townhome,…read moreincluding motorized Hunter Douglas blinds. One of those blinds failed in the very first summer we owned it. Since then, the company has been out to "repair" the same blind at least ten times. At one point, they shipped it back to Hunter Douglas, leaving us without a window treatment for two of the three months we actually live in the townhome each year. Despite the repeated failures, they have refused to replace the defective blind. Instead, they continue to send technicians out for the same problem, and after year 1 they charge us a service fee every single time. We have pleaded with them to stand behind their product and provide a replacement, but they clearly care more about billing for service calls than actually solving the issue. Their service approach can only be described as "we don't care about our customers." If you are considering using this company, my advice is simple: stay away.

Installation was easy to schedule, quick and convenient. They removed the old shades and cleaned up afterwards. It's been over a year since the blinds were installed. The motor on one of the shades stopped working. I called and they were able to get a new shade ordered and installed within a few weeks. I will always recommend them and will be a customer for life!
