This past October my mom had a life altering fall. I needed to get my parents home ready to sell as…read morequickly as possible so that I could move them close to me in Texas. While trying to manage my moms transition from the hospital to a skilled nursing facility, my own leave of absence from work, and missing my last child's last football game and all the other senior year activities - I was overwhelmed. I also needed to choose the right paint colors to make their home as attractive to buyers as possible, which in the best of situations is challenging, but I was in a serious pinch. Thankfully, God IS good - all the time! I walked in to JC Licht because they were the closest store to my moms SNF that sold BM paint. Ada (not sure about the spelling, sorry Ada!) approached me and I told her the three paint colors I thought I was looking for - but I really had not had time to consider how much natural light or lack there of, or how the colors would look with their hardwoods, or any of the other dozens of things that can make a paint color "all good" or terrible. She listened to every bit of information I could give her, and confidently told me the paint color and trim color I needed. And she was 100% right!!! She also helped me think through all of the other items I would need, helped me choose the right caulk, make sense of what tools I really needed (as well as what I didn't) and set up an account for me. I thought we'd be out by the middle of November, but as October moved into November, moved into December, I realized that she was right again! I needed one, it cost nothing and saved me a bundle! This young woman knows her stuff and she was SO much more than kind in her assistance to me. JC Licht Vernon Hills is fortunate to have such a competent - no skilled - no gifted! sales person working for them! Thank you Ada!!! Their house finally made it onto MLS Dec. 30th and it looks beautiful, thanks to your help! You are a remarkable young woman, and I realize that to you - it may seem like you did an old girl a small service, but I was SO overwhelmed, and you cleared my confusion, saw EXACTLY what was needed and guided me perfectly! If you need help with paint - now you know where to go and WHO to ask for!

JC Licht was suggested to me as a distributor of Hunter Douglas blinds - to say the least I am so happy they were recommended, they were wonderful to work with. The decorate was absolutely great, she knew her business and her decorator eye and suggestions were really appreciated. I can't say enough about, I believe his name was Andy, but he measured and installed the blinds - wow, you can tell he has done this for sometime. Again, as he was measuring he was asking different questions about how I wanted the blinds to work, again since it has been approximately 20 years ago there were some different issues that were corrected by Andy and what a difference it made. When he installed the blinds he was so knowledgeable, experienced and fast - no mess. All I can say is this was my first experience working with JC Licht, but will definitely use them again.

I've been using them for 20 years now. You can get a color wheel from them with small color samples so you can see what the colors actually look like in your home. Now granted they're really small samples, but it's still an awesome tool to have to help pick colors. The other thing is, a few times now I've needed them to color-match because i didnt know what a previous color was - and they have a machine that scans a sample and tries to assess what color it would be.... and I'll be damned if they haven't come through every time for me!! It's amazing. For the most part the employees here are helpful. There may be a dud here and there but hey, you can't always hire the best help. Right? Out of the several times I've been here now i have been pretty happy with the help I received. Store location is in a great spot, in a lot right by Sunset Foods. Easy in and out. Nice and bright. Has a fair selection of supplies and what-not, too. Prices are a little higher, but you get what you pay for. I'll come here any day rather than get the cheap stuff from the big-box stores. Definitely recommended!!!
