This is a new location for me. I am a big fan of the Target, although this location seemed picked over and not restocked. The paper towel/TP aisle looked almost empty (hoarders?). I didn't like that the grocery section is located all the way to the left. You have to walk through the whole store to get to the refrigerator section. I don't normally travel this far for a Target, but this was the only driveable location that had what I wanted in stock. I was pleasantly surprised by this Target! It wasn't busy (which I appreciate immensely when I have to do weekend errands). I was also greeted (I don't know about you, but i can't remember the last time any workers ever greeted me at a Target store). It was clean and organized. Even the fitting rooms were clean. It is a smaller target, so there isn't as much stock or clearance items as larger locations. I also think the layout is 'reverse' of what I'm used to, but all good. This is my FAVORITE target. I visit target atleast 3 times a week, Danielle is a new employee who is too lazy to do her job. Since I frequent this particular location. I see the employees often. Anytime I need help she tells me she can't not provide it even though she is never helping another customer. I do not think this unwilling spirit to help should be the front of house for any large organization. How can you be a front of the house who doesn't think you should do anything but talk to other employees. I didn't write a review the first time she was being less than helpful, but I cannot keep frequenting a store with employees who just want to stand. What's not to love? This location is so spanky newish and clean, that it feels like being in a well-organized department store. The other night, on a Halloween decorating mission, our family stopped in to see what, if anything, they had remaining. It was slim pickens in the decor area, but we had a blast exploring the costume section. I admit to getting stuck in their donut costume, but my kiddos got me out. My hubby uncovered some fun costume ideas in the men's department, so if you're looking for anything last minute, you might want to consider stopping in. Customer service today was TERRIBLE! I was Given the incorrect Apple GC that was not working.... When I purchased it at the VH, the register clerk asked me to get a new card because she couldn't activate it... and clearly in error threw the wrong GC in my bag.... When I went to CS @ Target Lake Bluff, she told me there was nothing they could do, I would need to resolve it at VH, but they can't be returned so probably nothing they can do. Went to VH... I came here with my mom to buy a few organizers, and she was waiting for me for like two minutes near check out so I could grab them real quick and she would pay for them. While she was waiting two female employees like harassed my mom with all this negative energy, and asked her to stand outside in the freezing wet cold and was like if you're not buying anything you need to leave the store like can you stand outside? And my mom was like no I am buying something I'm waiting for my daughter, and they still asked her to wait outside. There weren't a lot of people and I've never heard of that before.... You should be welcoming to your customers and greet them happily, not just be a bitch for no reason. Ew. Negative energy. The store is very clean and bright. There is a lot of people inside but the store is big and spacious that is why it is not crowded. I do not usually go in this location but it is the same as the Target near my place. The selection of clothes were lovely, selection for both men and women is really nice and the prices are fair and reasonable and there are eve items that are on huge sale. The staff in the checkout was nice and friendly and checking out is quite fast despite the lines. read more

I drove all the way from the city to this location just to buy a Nintendo Switch for my daughter's birthday, and because everyone is sold out in the city. I have to say this is the most cleanest Target I've been too. The sales associate in the electronics department was super cool. I bought the last Nintendo Switch in the color coral, which was perfect for my daughter. Usually, I'll never drive this far to shop at a Target, but I did not want to order the game online, and have to wait for it to be shipped. I'm very impatient when it comes to buying technology. I want to unwrap it as soon as possible, and ordering online delays my gratification. My daughter was happy about her birthday gift. She ripped it out of the box as soon as we came home. Very rude staff!! I came her to THIS store in hopes of getting milk for a 6 month old and a young toddler. The employees checking me out refused to sell me the milk because I came with my AUNT. THREE workers continued to tell me I couldn't purchase milk! While I was talking to my aunt about paying separate, the employee right away had told the two workers that were there what I had just said! I only managed to get a pack or two. After, when I went back inside the store to go look for my mom I noticed that this other worker was staring at with a dirty look. He had continued to look at me that way and ONLY ME. Then after everything they were just there by the registers keeping a close eye on me and my aunt. This was my first time coming here and don't think I will be returning. read more

If you've read any of my other reviews, you'll see that I have a love hate relationship with Target. Something in the air makes you want to make like a meme and start just throwing money at everything, and you feel amazing about it until your wallet spits out dust bunnies (but then you just buy a new wallet while you're there!) So, lately I've avoided Target (sorry Target, it's not you, it's me, and my bank account.) However, I recently moved, and was shopping for new curtain rods. Curtain rods aren't something I would have thought would be very hard to pick out, but here I am to tell you, if you are picky enough, it's possible to spend a good week and a half deciding on how you will suspend your curtains over your windows. Turns out, Target had very swanky ones (with "mercury glass finials." I don't know what exactly mercury glass is, but I can tell you it's pretty!) and they weren't so expensive that I needed to buy ramen for this week's dinners. Score. Ordered them online, with pick up at this location, since they were close and I hadn't been to this store before. (Well that, and they had them in stock.) I placed the order around 7am, and the order confirmation said I would receive. The pickup confirmation within 2 hours. They were ready in 20 minutes. Already I was liking this store, since I hadn't even finished my coffee and these guys were ON IT. Eventually head to the store. Now I had seen online that they were remodeling some targets, and I don't know if this is the exact same remodel that recently popped up on social media, but this store is beautiful. They have the nicer carts that I haven't seen since leaving my home Target in Chicago, and everything is just FANCY. I worked retail, I know the importance of visual merchandising, and how perception is reality to the customer, and I always felt target did really well with this. But, THIS Target? Nailing it! I can't help but browse around for awhile, and those little frequencies that, I am sure, Target sends out that are caught by your ovaries to make you throw more things in your cart are working over time. Even my young daughter randomly tells me we are playing a "shopping game" and we need to buy EVERYTHING. Also, the employees are awesome! Every. Single. One. Addressed me and made eye contact with me. I didn't need any help during my visit, but if I did, there is no doubt in my mind that they would have been on it. Everything went wonderfully. I got everything I needed, picked up my curtain rods, the washroom was clean, my child behaved, there was minimal traffic in the way there and back, with clear blue skies and a light breeze. Then I got home and broke one of those mercury glass thingies. While this Target earned their 5 stars, I doubt I would if rating my logistical planning of bringing all my junk inside! read more

The absolute worst place to shop in the entire Chicagoland Area. Even amongst other Target stores this one ranks at the very bottom. I was insulted by a woman at the Guest Service area in addition to being laughed at by what was seemingly the store manager whom I requested to speak to after they violated their own 15 day return policy. This Target is awful! They rarely answer their phones. When they do, it's after a lot of rings! A person working customer service did not believe me that the price that I paid was not what was on the shelf. I took her to the shelf, she scanned it every way BUT upside down, 6+ times. The price that was scanned was not what was on the shelf. She said something, I replied, and she said there's no need for an attitude. I told her that there is no attitude, just that she needs to honor the price that is on the shelf. I have found that at this Target the employees are not very friendly. read more

I bought a TV here today. The whole experience was wonderful. I've been to a different Target location only to be ignored by the staff. At Lake Bluff location I was greeted immediately. That person then handed off to Angel who was friendly and courteous. He helped me with loading the TV into my vehicle. I hope that employees like that stay there a long time and even get promoted. read more

I am a HUGE Target fan. I'll choose Target over any other discount store. Sometimes I stop in because it instantly brings me in a good mood...that's kinda sad I know. Target is the kind of store where you go with the intention of buying one item but end up buying over 10 items. This Target in particular deserves praise. It is, by far, the cleanest and most organized Target I have ever been to. When you enter, the floors literally shine. Nothing seems out of place and all the aisles are consistently organized. The workers always seem in a great mood even when you stop in really early in the morning. I use to always stop at the one in Vernon Hills, but find it way less organized, less clean, and always filled with people. Not to mention, parking is disastrous too. For now on, Lake Bluff is my go to Target because they are doing everything right! read more

We placed an order for a pick up and it turned out the item was not available. So we called electronics department directly to ask why it took almost 2.5 hours to tell us it's unavailable and what is going to happen with our money. The gentleman on the phone was absolutely rude and sounded like he was giving my husband an attitude and not finish the conversation he hang up on my husband. Then we called customer service and got redirected to a store manager to explain the situation and what experience we just got as customers. She apologized and explained us that the order cancelled (Sunday) on their end and the money would be back in our account next day(Monday) by noon. Okay. It's Wednesday no money. I called the general line and turned out we could have cancelled the item on our end which we wasn't told at all. But what is more the store doesn't cancel the item (even if it's out of stock) for 7 days! 7 days Karl! We were treated like shit and we were misinformed! read more

The store is always virtually empty during the work day, so for shelf items its an easy shop. However... and this is a big however...just ran in there again today and wanted to grab a carton of cottage cheese. 80% of the stock is out of date--some by more than a week. Note to management--if you've got a slow store, I understand that managing staff is probably a nightmare, but date control on dairy products is probably not the area to skimp on. I've been here twice to my demise. First time (last week) I ordered 5 clear storage bin with red matching lids (Christmas kind) online with store pick up. My reg store in Vernon hills was out and so were all other targets near or far. They had a sale, spend $25 get $5 off. When I got to this target they had 5 red lids and only 4 clear totes, employees didn't even notice that. When I realized that, It took 3 employees to figure out that they didn't have the 5th tote. Guest service lady went ahead and gave me the $5 off anyway off of 4 and after standing there waiting for 20 minutes. I get home and a few days later I discovered the lids are NOT the right size (too small) arghhhh! So I decided to call because there no way I was going to stand there again while they "search" for the right lids. Of course they don't have any that fit, so someone else got the mix match set too. Sooo they only had 4 clear bins with matching lids, this time I tried the lid, it fit! Yay Today I decide I'll go get some items I needed. I buy 4 diff items that if you buy 2 you get a $5 gift card. All together I would get $20. Great! I get 4 storage 11 inch bins. I get to the registers only to find 1 register open and 2 employees stocking the registers, so I stand behind two customers, Meanwhile another customer goes to aisle 5 with no light on and asks JONATHAN if he's open and he replies "no but I can take you" what?! Another customer is about to go in Jonathan's aisle but sees my dissatisfaction and he allows me to go ahead, thank god. Jonathan gives me 2 gift cards back, I ask him do each have $10 dollars because I'm suppose to get $20 total, he says yes! I wanted to pay for the storage bins with those gift cards and he said I was NOT allowed to do that I had to use them on a separate visit.... so I said ok I don't want the bins then. I walk to the guest services and ask the lady Behind the counter if This was true. She said "yes it's not fair to make other guest wait while people do more than 1 transaction. So I said technically I could go stand in line today and use them? She said "yes, you can do that". Great! I go to the self checkout and to my surprise the darn gift cards only have $5 each. Now comes an older employee lady, I explain to her the situation with the gift cards, looks in the flyer for the items I purchased, only 2 show $5 gift card back. Sooo she sends Jonathan to go check out the shelfs.... of course she asks for my receipt and gives me the $10 owed to me. Never once did she or anyone apologized for my inconvenience, never had I been so frustrated in a target in my life and I have a red card. I shop at target probably twice a week. Bottom line is I'd avoid this target at all costs. The only nice thing about this target is the Starbucks girl behind the register, Carson! She's awesome. read more
