I've been using this location on and off for over 20 years, and I've seen many managers come and go. However, the current manager, Rigina, has been there for over a decade now--and it shows. I hadn't walked into the store in about a year, and I was pleasantly surprised by how knowledgeable and professional the employees are. Everyone I spoke with was quick, efficient, and clearly well-trained. In my opinion, this is the best Sherwin-Williams location in the Bay Area right now. Nubia, in particular, has helped me several times over the past month. Let me tell you--she knows her stuff. Top notch, wonderful customer service at this store. We started out with Sherwin-Williams when flipping homes down south as there were not many paint stores available. We couldn't be happier with our choice as Sherwin-Williams is all over the US. That alone really helps when finding the same exact paint for touching up. I can't tell you how many times we've wasted money on going into a Lowe's or Home Depot and bringing a sample and letting their machine match it only to get back to the house and not have it completely match up. I was under the assumption that employees who work at this store are actually supposed to help the customers? Apparently not today. I came in with a question and asked this guy and his answer was .....I don't know.... that's it, no offer to help me, no offer to call another store, just I don't know.... Even after multiple attempts to get him to try to help me find what I was looking for, nothing. What a joke, I will never buy anything here nor will I ever go back. read more

Service depends on the day of the week. I went in to look for colors for a specific project. The person working was very helpful and offered to pull color chips if I needed them after using the new app at home. Fast forward to a few days later...I selected the paint color I want and also need another color that I already have a partial gallon. I took the existing paint and my paint chip in to the store. The paint was from the painter who painted the interior of my home a couple of years ago. The painter purchased the paint from KM, the paint can was clearly labeled with the mixture and the paint color and you could easily tell the finish of the paint. The person working today could not find the paint color in the computer under KM or SW, said she would have to TRY to match it. Whoa, isn't that what they do? While she was attempting her color match, I googled the paint color, I know, pretty innovative, found the paint color brand and relayed it to her. Then she asked me again what finish I wanted. I said I wanted the same finish as the paint in the can. Which was clearly labeled. This was a difficult task. This encounter was aggravating Finally, in frustration, I said that she clearly didn't want my business and left. Two gallons of expensive paint walked out the door. Tomorrow when KM opens I will go buy my paint. It seriously should not be so difficult. As I stated at the start of my review, the service depends on the day of the week. Customer service is hit or miss at this location. Too bad. We usually prefer SW paints, but now we will go to KM. I wonder if this is a franchise or corporate location? read more

This was my second trip to SW. the first time my husband and myself had such lazy worker we just walked out and went right next door to KM paint store. So I'm having my house painted today and needed to pick one last color, my painter told me to go to SW so I went even though I didn't like the service I got last time. And yet again I received very little help even though I was the only person in the store. I will never shop there again (the gilroy store) worst customer service ever. Customer Service in this store is HORRIBLE! If I could give zero stars I would. The Store Manager Regina is awful and offers no assistance or guidance. I took paint in to find something comparable. I needed a ceiling paint and she basically said she could not help me because she didn't know what paint my builder used. Once I picked something she said it would be an hour to match the color. WAIT...it takes Lowe's 5 minutes. She then said she would call me when it was ready and 4 hours later I drive over to the store hoping it was done because I never received a phone call. I took the paint home and the color was way off. I was so frustrated I went to Lowe's and there on the shelf was a ceiling paint. I don't understand why the ceiling paint SW offers was not recommended to me. I already submitted my complaint to corporate and received a refund for my paint I just want everyone to know how horrible this store is. I will be taking my business to Morgan Hill. read more

i was looking for wood stain to match my flooring and couldnt find any standard colors that was close. i took a sample of my flooring and brought to this store for a color match. the manager of the store managed to match it also perfectly. that is a much much much closer match than what other stores were able to do. really satisfied as i almost gave up on having a good match. read more

I am so grateful that I met Regina the store manager at Sherwin Williams today. She saved me from ruining my brand new fence with the wrong stain. Luckily she asked me about my project and advised me on the correct product to buy. She clearly is very experienced and knowledgeable about the products. Her service made me realize the value of going to a specialized paint store instead of big box stores. It was really refreshing to have someone genuinely care about me and my project. read more

Writing this review is hard. 5 stars for the manager there, Gus! 1 star for the lady who manages the place on the weekend. First off, their paint is way to expensive. I am not sure how this place expects to stay in business. Kelly Moore and Behr paint and primer at Home Depot are such great paints, and the customer service they offer makes it even a greater value. I don't mind paying extra for good paint, but at least provide some customer service and back up the product. So about 2 years ago we bought a new home and the builder left us the colors. We went to Sherwin Williams and had 3 gallons of very expensive paint made, that we wanted to use as touch up. It cost us almost 180.00. One of the colors - the house base color - turned into this horrible thick rubbery goop. It was an elastimera type paint. Yes, it was appropriately sealed as were the other two cans. In fact, the other two cans remained perfect and pourable. We took the can in over the weekend while the female manager was there, and asked her to see if she can add something to it to thin it and give it a good mix so we can use it, as the can was 3/4 - if not more - full. Her response, NO! She said she will have to make another can. We said that is fine, and she didn't tell us she was going to charge us. We came back a few hours later and she wanted to charge us $50.00, which she said was 30% off, and would not budge because it was made in 2013. We declined and left upset. The next day my husband spoke with Gus, who as I said, is such a reasonable good guy, and he gave him the new can for free. He also said if the can was left open - which it was not - the paint would not have looked like it did, but would have been hard, and that he never saw paint to this before. Exactly! As for buying it in 2013, it was almost full and the other two cans didn't do that at all. That being said, when you are going to charge that much for paint, and there is so much competition around, the least you can do is accommodate customers and back up your product. Sherwin Williams needs to look at little closer at who they are putting in those positions, as in the case of this women, and determine if it's worth loosing business over.
