After I looked around a bit (I was shingling a roof for my fish-cleaning station) a helpful employee pointed out to their gigantic materials/lumber yard. After I got out, another employee came up and assisted me, apparently having been radioed that I was coming - how cool is that? Anyway, I got everything I needed, including shingle roofing felt, shingles, galvanized nails, etc. at reasonable price. Been in here a few more times, and each time the customer svc has been great. Also, i'll mention here that they deliver for free if youve purchased lumber, etc. Which is cool if you dont have a 8' bed truck. :) I'll keep coming to Omans for my hardware needs

The staff at Rodda Paint in Longview matched the paint perfectly based on a drawer that I brought in as a sample. I am so impressed with the paint mixing abilities of the staff at Rodda Paint. I gave Chelsea the tiny pieces of paint that we cut out of the wall to match (& these weren't your average colors of paint, these were some hard colors to match one being a dark blueish grayish..) & she did a phenomenal job! Not only understaffed, but, the staff never acknowledges anyone. I was in last week, there were six people in line and one employee. He was going into great detail with the person at the counter. The people in line were growing highly irritated, they were talking loudly amongst themselves about how awful it always is in there. Not once did the clerk look up and say something like "Hey everyone, I'm all alone and doing my best. I'll be with you as soon as I can" anything would have been better than nothing at all. One person said "See, he must be used to this because he's acting like he can't even hear us". With zero exaggeration, I've been in this store at least six times and it's been the same every time!! At the price of paint and the volume of business, there's no way they can't afford more help. Maybe they don't realize that if they hired one more person, it could greatly increase their bottom line dollars. I really wish I didn't love their paint! Home Depot is next door and always super fast in their paint Dept....Unfortunately, their paint doesn't compare. Ugh!

I made the drive to Rosenberg's to get all I needed in one place for a flooring project. Scheduling a contractor is a challenge and after I did all the preliminary work a local builder fit me into his very busy schedule. Upon arrival he noted that one of the products I purchased was defective. I spoke to three people at Rosenberg's to learn that only if I returned to their store (50 minute drive) could I get a refund on the defective materials. They wouldn't take my word for it. I hope they aren't planning to sell it to someone else. The contractor went out, on the clock, to rustle up a replacement closer and threw off both our schedules. I will need to make the ~30 mile drive to try to get a refund on my purchase, but it may not be worth it. Waiting to see what it's going to cost me when all's said and done. I'm back to report that dealing with the defective merchandise cost me nearly $100. Making the drive to return that merchandise is inconvenient and the refund isn't worth the time and gas$$$. Beware.

A penny is petty but indicative of the underlying experience at Rosenberg's. Shop in Washington or Lincoln counties if you need basic hardware. Rosenberg is the largest hardware store in Tillamook and they are the worst!

I was told the wood I was purchasing was quality wood. That the knots wouldn't be larger than 1 1/2 inches and no knot holes. Probably 30% of the wood had large knots, knot holes, and a lot of split and damaged pieces. We managed to cut around and make all of the boards work except 2 boards. When I went to return the two boards and get a few extra I was "helped" by the rudest person I've probably ever had to deal with. From the moment I walked up to the counter he acted like I was disturbing him. He came out to the pile of boards, pointed at the ones I needed to choose from and then as he walked away said "try not to make a mess!" I have made many purchases from city lumber since I bought my home 10 years ago. I believe I have spent enough here to not be treated like a child. I don't know how this business keeps customers if this is how they treat everyone. I will drive to Portland to buy lumber before I will give this place my business again. City Lumber just lost a customer.
