At this time she is on my Pacific Source network. Assistant Megan (sp?) was thorough and proficient. Dr. McChesney pleasant and professional. The front office staff was professional and courteous. Waiting room was fabulous, plenty of seating. First time there, so filled out the paperwork, and didn't have to wait too long at all. They share what seems to be an office area with cardiologists, so I was not only the youngest lad there, I got to meet some really cool seniors who were just funny as hell. One man was a stand up comic in his previous life and had so many jokes for me that it was like I was at a club. I do a lot of work with the senior population, so it is always an honour to get opportunities to socialize with them. The spirit of my grandmother was there expressed via the concern of these sweet ladies over the fact that I was wearing shorts on a stormy day. Nancy was awesome. Very personable. direct, and explained everything thoroughly. Gold star for understanding my obtuse humour. Great chair side manner. Dr. Stoumbos was very friendly, mild mannered, and knowledgeable. She answered all of my questions with ease. I am not the typical "just sit there" patient, so I ask about how things work and why. I am very proactive medically, as I have to be my own advocate, and don't trust many "white coats". Dr. Stoumbos was very thorough and clear. Sadly, my vision got worse (the nuns said I'd go blind--eeek), but at my age, dropping from 20/10 vision in both eyes to 20/15 is a fact of life I will accept. As long as I can be a show off on the eye charts for a few more decades, I'll be cool. (wink).

Then she nudged her partner sitting next to her to get her to agree that she saw me do that. Then she said I had been rude to the doctor previously. I was shocked! I didn't believe this because I really like this doctor and I asked them to show me their notes indicating that I had been rude. They would not let me see them. The office and procedure area were not clean, which is concerning for any kind of skin treatment. My appointments were canceled on me multiple times with little notice. On one visit, they didn't have the proper equipment to do my procedure and never called to tell me before I showed up. During my treatment, staff brought in other people to train on me without ever asking my permission or informing me beforehand -- a serious privacy and consent issue. I paid for a package of four procedures and they only completed three. The whole experience was disorganized, and staff were impolite and unprofessional. If you're looking for a med spa in Astoria, shop around and find another location. Cheapest isn't always best -- you get what you pay for.

Had a long standing appointment for today at 10:40 AM. I received a text this morning at 7:34 AM…read morereminding me of the appointment. Left the house for the appointment at around 9 AM. Received a voice mail at 9:13 telling me that they had canceled the appointment. I didn't find out that the appointment was cancelled until I was in the office and was told by the staff that my appointment was canceled because the referral from the VA has expired. I specifically remember at my initial appointment when Todd Williams mentioned that he wanted me back in 6 months to recheck the area on my back that he did a biopsy on, that I would probably need a new referral. He told me then that it wasn't necessary, that they would take care of that. What a colossal screw up and a waste of 2 hours of my time, not to mention the fuel expended on the 50 mile round trip.
