Maegan was extremely rude when I came in for a color adjustment. While I was promised free adjustments in the event the color did not match (it didn't even though I provided the exact formula), she informed me that the original mixer did not follow the formula of semi-gloss and instead gave me a satin in a lighter shade (I was uninformed that they would be mixing it with a different base). She refused to fill it with the correct paint and instead tried to get me to buy another quart. After a bit of back and forth, she offered $10 off the new quart, but it wasn't about the money for me. It was the principal of standing by your match guarantee and taking care of a customer. She then tried to tell me I only paid $11, while my bank record showed nearly $40. She refused to look at my screen receipt when I showed her. While I like working with Sherwin-Williams under normal circumstances, this interaction made me never want to return. It's ridiculous to not make an exception to your "non refundable color" rule if it was mixed improperly and if the associate did not inform me that samples only come in satin, so the color would not have matched the formula I provided no matter what. We must give a great big shoutout to Maegan at the Oak Lawn Sherwin Williams store in Dallas! We are in the process of building our country dream home and walked into her store with lots of wild and crazy color ideas for lots of rooms. She was very kind and patient with us and never made us feel like we were taking up too much of her time. Maegan had a wealth of knowledge on color combinations and the lighting impact on all of them. We felt she really cared about how our house would turn out. On a recent visit to the Sherwin-Williams paint store on North peters in the French quarter we received excellent service and were in and out of the store in no time. The staff was friendly and attentive, and when I explained that I was in a bit of a hurry, he quickly processed my request, and I was out the door in less than five minutes. The nimrod behind the counter refused to fill my paint sample order because I had, unknowingly, called the wrong location. Now, I've been in customer service a long time...and a lady with a four year old who just needs 3 samples, should just get her paint. But no! They REFUSED to sell me paint because the other location, which I'm not driving to btw, had already done it. So we left. read more

I decided that my drab white walls in my house needed a touch of color, so I headed down to my local Sherwin Williams to get my paint on. The employees were more than helpful, as my painting experience was about as broad as my experience with beekeeping. I didn't know the difference between eggshell and semi-gloss, nor what kind of brushes I needed. After selecting my color, the experts here took several minutes to explain each type of paint they had and what would be best for my project. They made the buying process super simple and sent me on my way with all the tools I needed. The prices are a little higher than Lowe's or Home Depot in my opinion :( but I think that's its only downside. And - BONUS - they're open on Sundays! That really saved me from an "oh shit!" moment as I scraped the bottom of the paint can on Sunday morning. read more

Always friendly customer service. Recently had a broken door--I hope that's fixed. It would be nice if SW (stores overall) gave more assistance and bigger swatches with paint colors. Don't expect them to match a requested color even close. The $50 can of paint was not even close to the sample card I asked for. First, he tried the excuse that it needed to dry completely and when I pointed out that it was already completely dried he said was told that the color had to "age" before it would match??? He did add more colorant but it looks like the same as before. Will not go back there, instead of correcting their mistake they just try to BS there way out of it. JH read more

I asked him a very simple question about a difference between two different stains and he said he "wouldn't know how to explain it" but that I could "Google it." Really??? They were having a 35% off sale and I picked up paint at a different Sherwin Williams store only to get home and realize it was the wrong stuff. I headed into this store to do an exchange. I was actually really worried because the paints were already tinted. I walked it at 6:50p (ten minutes till closing) and got amazing customer service from Mike. He was friendly, helpful, and was able to resolve the problem with hardly any effort from me. This store is now my go-to Sherwin Williams store from here on out. Thanks Mike! read more

I thought for sure I would give a review on a place that Nikki hasnt done.. but I was wrong! :) Anywaz, yes I have gone down that long dreadful path of wanting to paint my walls. And that was a killer! I only painted 3 walls and my back is killing me! Everyone here was very helpfull and really to me.. They helped me pick out colors and find me all the right equipment I needed to get the job done. So I give it 2 thumbs up on that! They are open on the weekends so it was nice to know I could go during the day and not worry about being short on anything. The colors are awesome and they are a tad more funkier there any any where else! They dont have those boring colors walmart or home depot has! They were up to time the hip times and could give me helpful suggestions. But I must admit, painting is expensive! I havent ever painted in my life before and didnt realize how much it was to paint! OMG, makes me want to cry! I spent over 240 dollars on just three huge walls.. Granted I did get all the top grade stuff I needed for paint and gear! But wow.. I was shocked and did a double take on the price. But over all, I left happy and Im very delighted to know that my walls look great and my place feels lil more homey! :) read more
