I actually picked something out quickly and told her I had my measurements, but she insisted I needed to re-measure. Again, she made it clear I needed to call back the next day as I was apparently interrupting her exit. Day 2: Left message at 8:45am with measurements again and to ask price. Day 2: Called back at 12:30pm and talked to same person I left message for and saw the day before; she said she wasn't sure if she got my message, and realized she never checked pricing. She promised she would check pricing and also confirm if I could return an unused roll, and call me back that day. Of course, no call back. Day 3: Called at 10:15am and she (the person I had talked to before) wasn't there. Apparently the other wallpaper person was supposed to be there at 9, but according to the person who answered the phone said he didn't show up. What is this place and why are they so arrogant? It's apparently full of people who act like they are doing you a favor by even looking at you.

I just tried to put the service in perspective because Sherman was having a great paint sale and I wanted to seize upon it. I was pleased with my paint selection and quality of the paint. Previously I had used Ace Hardware's brand and was very displeased with those results. I first painted the wall with their Duration (Matte) brand, Snowbound, followed by the blue color Cosmos which is also Matte. I WAS NOT pleased with the paint brushes Sherman sells, specifically the ProVal 4" inch, see picture. I do believe the brushes that I have purchased from Ace have been of better quality.

There's a solid selection of material you'll need for most general home upkeep. Prices are really fair compared to Home Depot and Menards. I called ahead and spoke with the friendly worker, who even saved what I needed at the front for my first stop there because it was such a rush. It's an easy to access place and dogs are welcome! I left really pleased with this place and had it on my mind for a second project. The second time I visited... oof. When I asked about an issue and showed photos about potential materials to buy, I was told to have someone come out and pay for it because I didn't "look or sound excited about my project. He was very crass and told me I wouldn't understand what he was "so easily" speaking to me. So there's that. If I know what I'm needing and have no doubts, I'll definitely come back here. If I have doubts, I'll be hesitant to ask based on who's working that day.

It has a lot of the typical household items like bathroom fixtures and that type of stuff. Find things also for businesses. The prices are higher than other places but it's better to buy locally. A lot of history about it. It's an important part of Rogers Park and recognizable for the big clock with the wrenches. This business has been around over 100 years. Pretty impressive. While there's lots of the typical products like nuts and bolts, there's also the power tool and equipment rentals. If needing something like that and you aren't planning on using it again after that then this is where to go. The store can be hard to find things but the staff is friendly and helpful. For a locally owned hardware store it has pretty good finds. It's located at the intersection in the name of course so that helps a lot. There's all the usual household items as well as power equipment and rentals.
