I got 2 gallons of serious oil based paint in Space Shuttle Grey oh and by the way it's the same paint they use on the space shuttle. For $13 a gallon. That's right. IF you could get it anywhere else which you can't it would be $80 a gallon. Then I got 5 gallons of stain for $10 each. Forget the Memorial Day paint "sales" at Home Depot. You would be paying 3 times as much for an inferior quality paint. And the accessories?? Rollers for 75 cents. 4 inch brushes for $3.99. And lavender scented rubber gloves for $1. Free parking in the back. Tell Ron I sent you.

Am a huge fan of Annie Sloan chalk paint and Renee specializes in this and also how to use this incredibly magical paint. Super helpful, great suggestions, and lots of ideas can be found here. She also now carries IOD stencils and that really takes creativity to the next level- if you are into AS paint and such. The shop is super cute and quaint and there is a little antique store in the back as well- easy to find great little things to paint. Worth it in every way.

With this being said, I was really disappointed with this unusual shop. I had been eying this Indian style cabinet displayed in the front window for months & finally stopped in to see what this charming shop had to offer. Don't get me wrong, there are some really cool ideas that from what I've seen on their facebook page, you can sign up for classes & make yourself. And there are some truly stunning antique pieces available for any collector. In fact, I really like the idea of this concept, however, not only did the slightly overpriced inventory get me but the overall store setup & true purpose. It's not really a furniture store in my eyes but more of a chalk paint store only. It was kind of a shame to see some actual solid oak & cherry wood antiques ruined by chalk paint. The prices for the workshops are average for this area, roughly $55.00 plus tax. This shop would be a good idea if you enjoyed things like "Painting with a Twists" or are exploring new hobbies (there's NOTHING fun to do in Mantua!)... sorry, just not what I'd call a true furniture shop.

I stopped in here and picked up some primer as well as two gallons of BM Aura paint. The lady that assisted me was quite friendly and helpful in finding the paint I needed. The prices are a bit higher than what you'll find at the big box stores, but I think this is due more to the BM paint as opposed to the store's pricing. I was very satisfied with my transactions as well as the end result and would definitely go back when/if I need more paint.

The other day I got so frustrated with disorganized and unhelpful staff that I decided I would drive to Solon And see what they had. I was greeted three times. I had two employees ask if they could help me. I thought I knew what I needed but another came and asked if he could help me and he took me right to the plumbing item I was looking for and was knowledgeable about what I was trying to do. The cashier was sweet and treated me like a human. From now on I'll dry the extra distance and still get home quicker!

Not only did he dig through the system to find my previous transaction (which was not an easy feat), he was patient and offered to do more. He also was interested in learning how things work (like I mentioned, this was not a straightforward transaction). He and his coworker mentioned that training is done on-site, and the service here is a real testament to this location's management. If you have a choice between going to Solon and Woodmere, go to Woodmere!

No one went out of their way to help me or acknowledged my presence. I bought 2 cans of Sherwin-Williams paint with me and the gentleman who took care of me acted like he didn't know how he was going to color match the paint. No one gave suggestions or explained the differences in the paint. I thought I was doing the right thing by going to the paint experts. I was wrong. The paint didn't even match up. Honestly, I could have done the same thing at Lowe's. I reached out to corporate to share my experience and they gave me a district manager's number. I called left him a message and no return call.

What's happened over at Dunn's? Since this last change in ownership, the range of services offered…read morehas declined. I needed a piece of wood cut to 26", they sent me to the service counter, (which is in the back of the store...most inconvenient for those of us who have difficulty walking), and after waiting 10 minutes to be helped, a very kind young man told me that they don't provide that service. At a hardware store? The employees are friendly and capable, but it's no longer the same place it was in the past. I miss the old Dunn Hardware store.
